I have the AT4 Duramax… when you buy this truck it’s because you know what you want. I purposely didn’t buy a Denali. I wanted the off-road tires and the diesel combination. That diesel has no equal in this segment. With those Good Years I’m still able to get 28MPG with all that pulling power and smoothness. My one complaint about the 3.0 is for a diesel it’s too quiet. So when you’re bringing the AT4 to a comparison keep in mind that old saying: you’re comparing apples to oranges. These days most people are looking to the pickup as their family vehicle so if you’re looking for a street cruiser you would’ve never sought out a $65k AT4.

Regardless of the manufacturer’s hype about towing capacity, people really shouldn’t tow more than 7-8k with a 1/2 ton. Not 10k as the video suggests. 🤦♂️ Ford is the absolute worst in this too. 14k towing and 3k payload is ludicrous for a F150 even if it’s a regular cab 2wd with the tow package. All the mechanicals in a HD are much better suited to towing 8k plus.
Yep, well said. I used to work for a dock leveling company and we drove F 450 and F 550's The F 150 was not even considered as a work truck and our light duty (run around) trucks started at F 250. False! does not have longer suspension travel. Just because a truck has more clearance doesn’t mean it has more travel. Ford suspension components and drive train are stronger the ford would last longer off road. There’s a reason Chevy pre-runners have ford parts.

truck guys don't talk like u talk there, every truck had its own purpose, u can't compare an at4 to an on-road truck, number 1 it has stiffer springs beefy tires, that platinum springs are tuned different u can see by its tires it's set up different, that's not an equal comparison, common now,, i never see generalist make the right comparison whenever it comes to trucks, and then they find they did a good review, this makes no sense offroad with offroad on-road with on-road
When he said the gmc is junk he isn't entirely wrong considering their never ending issues with lifters, DFM/ AFM cylinder shutdown crap and electrical and Ford is no different also adding potentially costly turbo issues
GMC is what you need!!!The best truck ever!!!
Everyone has an opinion !! I love my 21 GMC AT4 turbo diesel- gets so many MPG and looks great - also note it’s a very quiet truck ?! And yes he’s wrong - since he asked ! 😄
The video guy talking about the off road capabilities of the GMC everyone doesn't drive there truck off road
The GMC Denali is comparable to the F150 Lariat (almost) not the Platinum .
2021 Ford F150 vs 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 PLEASE!!!
Right at the start of the video you could see this guy was bias as hell against the GMC
You can tell he's a Ford guy. He wears white socks
I am a software engineer, I will never carry a hammer for work.... but still I want a badass truck.... convince me why.
2022 GMC is refreshing so just wait, but I personally would pick the GMC even thought the f-150 would be the better in terms of bang for your buck. I just love the look of the GMC and that’s what matters to me looks and v8 grumble. I like the 6.2
Annie-No truck better I love that specific truck the roaring engine the older look Claaasssy.. it’s the same truck that brought me to have my boy the same truck that brought me great memories
5.0 in the ford is the way to go. Can’t beat the coyote
That in-line diesel is pretty sweet though.
@@freedomisntfree_44 the Coyote is a wonderful power plant, GM and Dodge both make good engines as well. I work in oil and gas and all the big 3 have plenty of vehicles in the field and I can assure you they are all JUNK. They all go back to the dealer, they all blow engines, they all have issues of some kind.
I used to work for a dock leveling company and we drove F 450 and F 550's
The F 150 was not even considered as a work truck and our light duty (run around) trucks started at F 250.
For safety and drivability you need to consider the steer axle rating and final drive ratio (torque multiplier)
Yeah, they all say "this is what it can tow and this is what it can haul" but what they DON'T tell anybody is that drops dramatically with elevation and grade.
Those numbers might be for the 5th wheel application, much better towing than bumper pull.
@@tedmccauley9319 Yeah, except most people don't run a 5th wheel in a 150/1500 grade truck. I don't think that's a consideration here.
CarGurus simply don't let this clown review a truck again.
The problem with GMC and Chevy Trucks (new ones) is the interior is super trash. Like from the early 2000s. Also, been hearing about how the GM vehicles are much poorly built over the last decade and a half. Hope they really get a reality check.
Mountain climbing ain't a sport for the weak foot. Can't reach the top. Better to stay grounded and well rounded. Scan probability outcomes and choose the right course.
I would like to see an F150 Platinum vs GMC Sierra Denali comparo.
Can CarGurus get someone that isn't a soy boy to review these
I didn t know cargurus made videos,and so informative,awesome.
High time! Doing long lines! When it's time to crash, going to be a wreck. Need to keep that in mind and avoid it. Need to maintain to do so. Maintain!
You could not have picked two opposite trucks. Diesel/Gas-Hybrid, Off Road/Platinum luxury.........No comparison at all not just different manufacturers. Poindexter missed it.
I really like the active fuel management 😂😂😂😂😂😂 shut up
Let’s see a 3.0 Silverado Duramax vs 3.0 F150 Powerstroke
Powerstroke has been discontinued
Ford smokes gm on payload and towing 😂
I will pick the FORD more high tech
I dont want the cylinders shutting down , if you are concerned about gas mileage dont buy a pick up !!
Yea I am a novice and doing the research right meow. So many models, trims, options, etc. Thanks for sharing what you would pick
Should buy a diesel truck
Gm has had a great experience with active fuel management their customers have not have not LOL
Another comparison would be how many people stop and compliment your truck. Never had that with a Ford. Get someone asking about my AT4 at least once a week. It just looks nice compared to the ford and now I think that the Denali looks like an old man’s truck. This is a family vehicle for me in addition to value added for the truck. The AT4 just looks awesome and I love walking to it everyday
Review the mid level trims first, diesel vs lariat that’s not a good comparison, 5.0 V8 against 5.3 V8 would be more informative.
You don't know anything about trucks son GMC is the best truck built and a Ford is built almost as bad as a Dodge
Dodge sucks, but FORD is better than gmc
@@baselqashou5716 Like I said put your money where your mouth is my AT4 is a better truck then any Ford truck I'm a heavy collision body man and you think you know more than me. You don't know nothing about trucks
I love Ford, and prolly won’t buy another type of truck, but I don’t really care, improv meant in one company means at her trucks add it and can improve something else.
The size of your touchscreen does not define the truck experience. Quiet tires are great until you get stuck getting into your favorite hunting site. This guy should stick to reviewing EV’s he knows nothing about trucks.
False! does not have longer suspension travel. Just because a truck has more clearance doesn’t mean it has more travel. Ford suspension components and drive train are stronger the ford would last longer off road. There’s a reason Chevy pre-runners have ford parts.
the at4 cant be compared to the regular trim f150. its only got a 2 inch lift on z71 suspension. thats IT
Get your pocket book out the 10 speed in the GMC breaks alot and the Ford has more useful technology.
I own an elevation edition Sierra, so my opinion is bias... Gmc is better. Thank you for you time.
Did he…just give a point to the gmc for having a longer name?
I was gonna give it to gmc, but the towing for the f150 got the nod for me.
gmc will come out with a better towing numbers in a year or 2 with self driving.
Ford wins this one
GMC Is way better and worth the value
Just a Silverado with more makeup!
Which one will last the longest
Wtf... Platinum vs AT4 Yeaaaaaaaahhhhh nice comparision -_-
We'll, let's just say that if I was a GMC dealer I would be pissed at your video. Thinking, why am I selling these, unless I just don't like Fords. So, yeah F150 PowerBoost Hybrid V6 Turbo and Im good.
Car guy giving a truck review.
Really. A point for a longer name…..
Poor editing. Same section of video on the GMC is there twice...... 🚨🚨🚨
Where are the Sierra outshines every Ford package that it produces. Is simply that this model is old school classic in the making design, where the Ford's design is so repetitive that it almost takes you back to the early 2000s. The design engineers from Ford need to totally get fired and come out with a real new redesign. Period. By the way I've always been impressed by their car like pickup driveability, I'll give them that
Cant even get a chey or GMC that's compatible to the Ford, gotta get a diesel to come close to the ford, smh and the the Ford still wins hands down, should have had it's big brother the power stroke f250 beside that piece of junk, would have been a landslide..........ford💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
FORD F 150 hands down. Not close.
I like how that sierra looks but inside f150 is long ways better and if you race them ford will kick sierras p...😏
Yo what sup with adding point for having a longer name?
Hopefully the 2022 Gm twins interior will finally be on same level as Ford and Ram.
No. The GM truck refresh was pushed onto the 23 Model year or later.
@@davidporter7051 it’s supposed to be coming early 2022 as a 2023 model ..
@@galaman12001 no it's not. It's been pushed until indefinitely. The 2022 model trucks production with no change will start in September 2021. As for the "refresh" it has been pushed back to no one knows when.
@@davidporter7051 well that sucks! Thanks for the info!
It wont
Really good reviewer
My GMC starts every time. The Ford doesn't start and their transmissions suck too.
Sounds like a review from a guy who don't even like trucks.Your comparing trucks not Honda civics. Leave the truck comparisons for real truck guys
How about talking to these truck companies letting them know to put thicker rust free rockers under their trucks because they look so nasty after 10 years
It's obvious that his opinion in this video is not unbiased
I'd take the f150. I live the tremor. Ford just beings a old school look to new school. I love that. I hope they keep it. Interior is very functional and nice.
Ford > gmc
05:40 dude really gave point to car because of the longer name? 😂😂
Throw a hitch ball onto that GMC and show off the multi-function tailgate, please. 😁
😂😂 so many buttons and so much flipping involved! I'm sure you need to have everything perfectly closed just to use the key fob tailgate closing function! Neat party trick. But, I'm sure the owner wouldn't bother using it after a few weeks. They probably wouldn't even be using the truck bed for how its designed bc it's so expensive and they won't want to scratch it!
Bumper step is probably all the average person really needs! I wonder how much that tailgate will cost to repair if something breaks or replace if rear-ended?
@@shaneh734 you dont have to buy a multipro tailgate if you dont want it.
Whats useless is that ford shift lever that folds down.
@@Tiovergudo that too. They can just design push buttons like what palisade has which is easy to use and elegant. Or just use column mounted e-shifter like Mercedes. Both will allow to have that flat table as well.
You can tell this guy is not a truck guy
F150 besides the Government bailed out GMC under Obama. Ford held up on it's own
Ford all the way.
Hell yeah
