In this exercise video Meredith will be guiding you through a standing, full body advanced workout using dumbbells and ankle weights.
Using weights for resistance is a great way to build strength, flexibility and endurance. All things that we depend on during our daily lives for everyday activities like carrying groceries, climbing stairs and reaching up to grab things from high places. All of these activities can be improved through resistance training.
You can also still get a great workout in substituting bottles of water for weights or just follow along for a range of motion workout as well. This routine is also designed to get your hear rate up to give you body a great cardio workout combining full body movements and resistance.
This is an advanced workout so only do what you feel comfortable with and never force anything that causes pain or discomfort. Remember to take breaks when you need and keep your water close by.
Have a great workout!
Team Meredith

Me, too! 67 going on 68 in August. I've enjoyed Meredith's workouts since Covid, and have been amazed at what I'm able to do elsewhere, because of my strength training. Keep it up!
Great routine!!! I have never seen these types of moves combined. Makes for a great use of time. I am SO GLAD I found your channel. Thanks Meredith, you rock!
Running late today so didn’t think would get a strength training workout in and then I discovered this little gem- perfect!!! Hit all the areas needed!! Thanks Meredith!
So great Mary! Yes, this quick 30 minute workout works everything quickly. I’m so proud of you for fitting it into your day!!
Yes Meredith great advice! Never sacrifice form for dumbbell weight. Form! Form! Form! Compound movements make my brain hurt from thinking so much! Thank you again sweet Meredith.😃👍🙏
That is it, form form form!;) Thank you Mark!
@@SeniorFitnessWithMeredith I just realized I got it backwards. Never sacrifice form for dumbbell weight. I made the correction in my comment. I told you Meredith you hurt my brain with all those compound movements..
This was a good, challenging workout. Thanks, Meredith. With the ones where you hold the weights and kick back, I had to hold on as my form started to teeter. I like the challenge and will try to do the advanced ones. Keep up the good work!
You can do it:) Thank you for the support also!!
Thank you for the refreshing workout. I enjoyed the comfortable pace that did not tire me out but did sweat a lot especially while doing the complex moves. It's a definite mood elevating exercise routine 🙏
I am so happy you enjoyed the workout, and it was a good pace for you! I also like that it was "a definite mood elevating exercise routine", perfect for the All Over Strong motto!! Take care and stay well, Meredith
Great workout, thank you!

Thank you Anna! I am so happy you enjoyed it!! Bless you as well!!
Excellent workout! I feel I have worked ALL my muscles!😅
Thank you!!
Excellent workout. I subbed firewalkers for squats and weighted bridges for deadlifts, to accomodate my bad lower back. I will be doing this one again. Thank you!
Way to go Sherri! I’m so proud of your modifications, taking care of a bad lower back. Keep up the great work 💖
Loved that today thank you Meredith and team
Thank you for the support Sharon!
Loved it! Thank you very much!!!
Thank you Travis! I’m so happy you enjoyed it!!
Terrific, well explained and easy to follow work-out. The two moves combined were challenging but very do-able. Thanks for not focusing on aesthetics.
I am very happy you enjoyed it Emma, Thank you!
This is by far my favorite one that i do daily 😀💪
I’m so happy you like it Wendy! Keep up the great work!
Good morning Meredith...glad to informed you that this is my 2nd time doing your great workouts back to back . Decided to try this workout after completing the daily routine low impact cardio Warmup. Actually, my schedule today was a 30 min get fit walking workout.,but I changed it. I will that 30 min walking in my evening session. Although this is my first attempt for this workout, but I'm having fun and feeling good, as usual. Tqvm Meredith for this great video. Will be looking and following you for other workout. Hoping you'll have a nice day today as much as I do., bye for now
Thank you so much for the wonderful continued support!!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for the support !
Good strength workout. Thank you!
Thank you!
I don't have ankle weights, but I do have looped resistance bands, so I tried one around my ankles through the workout. Nice range of movements, really glad i made time for this this morning. Thanks!
That is a great option! Way to go!
It's great!
Thank you Lucius!
Great workout!!
Thank you Dawn!
This was a nice Valentine's Day Surprise Marilyn; thank you for this most excellent workout! I needed it before chocolate LOL :))))
Great workout before the much deserved chocolate !:) I hope it was a wonderful day!! Thank you for the continued support!
@@SeniorFitnessWithMeredith It really was LOL You are very welcome! :)))
Used my wrist waits for my ankles. Was thrilled my ankles were slim enough to accomplish that. 😂
Great workout! Thank you!!
That is great Doris, way to go!!
Thanks so much. What a great workout. A little tougher but I was able to get through the entire session. What size ankle weights are recommended??
Hi Irie!! Start light, at 1-2lbs, and gradually work your way up. These are good(or something similar): www.amazon.com/APEXUP-Adjustable-Weights-Modularized-Aerobics/dp/B09T981811/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=JVXZC53115M7&keywords=ankle+weights&qid=1654566533&sprefix=ankle+%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNzlOU1AwNzlESFNWJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDczOTA0MTk4QVdNODdSRzkyNiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTQ3MzUzMkRLNFJKT0U2QVdRSiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Then you can adjust when you feel stronger, or take away on some days.
I hope this helps! Take care, Meredith
Another new favourite! :) Thanks Meredith! What weight do you recommend for the dumbbells?
So happy you enjoyed it Joanna! As for weights, that depends on what you are doing now and what you are comfortable with. I say 5-8lb dumbbells because I know you workout lots and do the challenging workouts. I hope that helps! Take care, Meredith
Loved it! I’ll do it again.
Hi Meredith, I did this workout without using any equipment, I’ve also done other routines of yours also without using the equipment you recommended as at the moment with lower back and hip pain and upper arm pain due to my PMR I find it too much for me. As I love the routines you put out I still wanted to do them so this was my compromise as I still wanted movement for my body. I’m hoping in the near future to be able to start to include some of the equipment again. I would value your thoughts as to if this is indeed a good compromise or if I should be doing something else. Kind regards Caroline. X
Hi Caroline! I am so proud of you! That is perfect to do just ROM until weights can be added in. Do some of my stretching routines also to help relieve some pain you are feeling. Keep up the great work! Take care, Meredith
