Yep the flavor is something you just have to taste for yourself. Its WAY better than I expected. I knew it would be good but DAMN!! Lol I couldnt find cojita so I used fresh parm so I cant imagine how good it is with the cojita although Ive never had it to my knowledge. I will get the right kind next time for sure.

Okay, 100% real review: I made this and this was one of the greatest things I have ever made! OMG, the roasted poblano cream sauce is eyes rolling into the back of your head DELICIOUS. After I added my shredded chicken to the pot I just wanted to drink it like a soup it was so good. I didn't do it though (this time) and I made the casserole and it was a big hit. It made great leftovers. I made a double recipe so I also froze some, I'll come back to add my thoughts once I make the frozen one. The only thing I will add is that if you roast your peppers under the broiler it might not char like it does on the grill. Do not wait for it to turn black, what you want is for the pepper to blister, but it might not be black. I almost wasted my first batch of peppers down to nothing waiting for that black char. In my next batch I just tried to blister the skin. I put them in a covered bowl and after 10 minutes the skin peeled off easily and there was still plenty of pepper flesh left. In conclusion, this recipe is a keeper and I highly recommend it. UPDATE: it froze beautifully and was 100% delicious. ❤

I am not a cilantro fan, but sometimes when it is mixed in sauces it adds to it without tasting alot like cilantro, and its ok. Can I ask if you thought it tasted alot like the cilantro? If so I guess I could just leave it out. thank you
Hi, I'm new to your channel, but I followed your instructions step-by-step, it took 3 hours to do everything.. cook chicken, rice, roast and peel peppers, made the sauce, put it all together... like I said, it took 3 hours for everything, and my boyfriend consumed it within 7 minutes... entertain_me no worries...once in a while you’ll get a rouge one that’s hotter so just keep your nose out or worst case cut a tiny little piece off each one and taste it to make sure it’s not too hot for your family before you throw it in...You can usually smell when you peel it if it’s a hot one though ☺️

@@sleeksalmon I left out the cilantro. It is too strong for me. I am told you either love cilantro or you don't. I prefer and substitute Italian parsley for any recipe that calls for cilantro. Cilantro taste like soap to me.

This is a favorite in my house. I prepare over two days. Cook chicken and rice one day, then roast the make the sauce and assemble the next so I can get it in the oven after work. It is sooooo good!! We grow our own poblanos and jalapenos, which I do add for some good heat.

Well I did use a throwaway pan and I had to use cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella but this was absolutely delicious, the poblano sauce was amazing, you ladies are fantastic cooks and I love watching you

I was in a hurry to roast yellow chilies so I put them in air fryer on high, sprayed a bit of oil after skin is charred once done place in lidded bowl. Peeled all the skin easily. Not sure if it loses any flavor but it tasted delicious to me and I even had extra for freezer cubes.

Making this for dinner tonight. Tried the sauce and it reminds me of my white chicken chili. I decided to add canned jalapeños to the chicken mixture. I topped it with the Poblano pepper and shredded corn tortilla strips and a dusting of homemade ancho chili powder!
So... LET ME TELL YOU!! I made this a few weeks ago and it was delish! I omitted the cilantro because I absolutely hate it. But, I decided to try my hands at it again with cilantro because I was like it shouldn’t hurt.. WOW!!! This went from delish to AMAZING!! That cilantro added so much flavor I didn’t know I needed! I also added chicken broth instead of water when blending and I really feel those minor changes made a big difference!! Thank you for your amazing recipes and your delightful personality!! One day I was chopping jalapenos for dinner, my optometrist called and said "your contacts are in", I said I'll be right there. They always have you put them in to make sure they're a good fit.I put them in OUCH, my eyes were watering so bad 👀! I won't ever make that mistake again.
@@Twyztid_Angel Absolutely! Discovered that the stainless steel blade of a chef knife works amazingly well for that! (Flat/non-sharp part, of course lol). No onion/jalapeno or even garlic scent stuck left on your fingertips for days (but I love garlic so much, I actually kinda like it lol) 😂

I made this in the early part of the year. Still cold out. This was by far one of the best dishes. Not a scrap left and kids asking for more.
I love your channel you have given me confidence to try new things, Thank you for blessing me with your families recipes. I was in a hurry to roast yellow chilies so I put them in air fryer on high, sprayed a bit of oil after skin is charred once done place in lidded bowl. Peeled all the skin easily. Not sure if it loses any flavor but it tasted delicious to me and I even had extra for freezer cubes.

I keep a separate softish bristle brush to gently scrape off the char. Goes quickly with just a quick rinse and dry. I can’t wait to make this!

Making this for dinner tonight. Tried the sauce and it reminds me of my white chicken chili. I decided to add canned jalapeños to the chicken mixture. I topped it with the Poblano pepper and shredded corn tortilla strips and a dusting of homemade ancho chili powder!
So... LET ME TELL YOU!! I made this a few weeks ago and it was delish! I omitted the cilantro because I absolutely hate it. But, I decided to try my hands at it again with cilantro because I was like it shouldn’t hurt.. WOW!!! This went from delish to AMAZING!! That cilantro added so much flavor I didn’t know I needed! I also added chicken broth instead of water when blending and I really feel those minor changes made a big difference!! Thank you for your amazing recipes and your delightful personality!! I’m gonna make every recipe you post!!! Lol ❤️Sending love from Chicago!!

They have those stainless steel bars to wash your hands with to remove odours out of your hands and it works for pepper oils too! Love mine!
@@Twyztid_Angel Absolutely! Discovered that the stainless steel blade of a chef knife works amazingly well for that! (Flat/non-sharp part, of course lol). No onion/jalapeno or even garlic scent stuck left on your fingertips for days (but I love garlic so much, I actually kinda like it lol) 😂
