Great tutorial. If anyone doesn't want to de-solder/solder the wire, if you melt all of the glue sticking the speaker wire to the casing, you can pull the wire through and get enough slack to work around it/remove the 4 screws.
Incredible video, very clear explanations of each step and why. Great Job!!.. You make it look easier then it seams to be, but I got through it and repaired my headset. Thanks again!!🎉
Hey, how do you get the metal cover off at the top end of the inner cover? The one that you don't show in this video, because it's already removed when you start and you don't replace it at the end. It covers the top end of the inner cover. I can't figure out how to get it off and don't want to break the outer cover doing it!
Did not disconnect anything from the speaker area but I did unplug the last pieces I melt the glue in four locations to have room to get to the four screws and I replaced my cracked left inner panel and ps the panel hold with the L and R on them have adhesive holding it to the inner panel so be careful
Tricky but doable. My hint is to desolder the jack plug, making it easier to unscew the inner case from the outer case. Anyways, thank you for the video
Hey man, there was a little gap at the bottom of the headphones at the end of the clip, was that because of the rubber? Excellent video, hopefully there won't be any problems with noise cancelling?

@alexthesloth8873 Did you get any reply? I also have a similar problem (I hear NO sound at all) and also thin that I either soldered poorly, a connector got out of the green board or I inserted the 3 connectors the in wrong side.
@@WilliamGone Well it seems that I accidentally detached the small connector box from the green board because when I pushed it down, it started playing but when I released it, it stopped playing. First, I attempted to press it by additional item (a piece of rubber eraser) because I couldn't glue it's bottom where all connections were. However, the piece of rubber slided away one day and now it doesn't play again. Well, at least I know now what's wrong with it and how to solve it (or the entire structure of these headphones). Finally, I had to buy brand new Beats Studio Pro recently because it took too much time to repair (disassemble and reassemble) everything on my own.
The inside panel does not slide back on. My only problem is that for some reason the inside panel became slightly pried open at the top near the hinge so the earpiece hangs. Nothing wrong with the hinge or anything but couldn't get it back together. I also can't see anything wrong with the inside panel. It seemed like we should have just been able to clip it back together, but no go. So I took it apart per instructions up to minute 12 of this video. But when it comes time to "slide" that inner piece over the outside it simply does not go. It doesn't even seem like it EVER fitted over the slide guides in the first place. The grooves on the inner piece are just way smaller than the slide guides on the outer side. Does this make any sense?

I have now fixed: - New Pads since the old ones were peeling - Band snapped when my wife stood up and had them on her thigh - When i replaced the band i screwed in crooked, It snapped the band AGAIN, at the screw hole - LOST THE FUCKING SCREW, HAD to order another from china - They cracked in the inner housing, eventually they are now snapped in half reason why im looking this up - Since the inner housing snapped the outer housing was supporting the bend which is NOW CRACKED ALSO..... Total in repairs... : new pads $15, TWO bands $45, $15 SCREW LOL, $20 inner housing and if i dont stop using them until i fix them $20 for the outer housing. and now i broke the ring outer sticker to get to the screws ffs. my brother in law was some nice ones, look like theyre wireless and metal feel good too. im never buying beats again. its just the "look" that they give is amazing but theyre far to fragile and all ive been using them is at my desk... the most basic of tasks ever and they sucked.

@@Joesge My left speaker stopped working after repairing the left panel. However, the buttons and LED all function correctly. Although my multimeter works fine, I have gotten no voltage by testing the speaker wires (soldered connections twice). Have you got any suggestions?
I have yet to test the aux jack.
Hey I have the same exact problem. Once I replaced the panel and put it back to the point where I soldered the speaker back. Now I cant connect to any devices the power comes on fine but I can no longer detect the headset any ideas???
I also used a hair dryer on the PCB board to remove that glue. Not sure if this damaged the board or not I only used it for a few seconds.🤔

Geez this seems complicated. My little one threw my Beats on the floor and cracked my panels, inside and outside panels on both sides. So I need all 4 replaced but it's cheaper to just buy new ones then pay Apple to fix. I figured I would do it myself but there is soooo much to it. And I've replaced plenty of things before like LCD screens and non removable phone batteries so I'm not a noob lol. But yikes this is a pain in the butt.
Sorry to hear that.
Why tf are these parts so expensive?
I replaced the left inner panel last night but now everyone say I sound very quiet or muffled. What could I have done wrong to cause that?

Hello, I have the shadow grey studio 3 headphones and I need to replace this part on the left side, I’ve looked at the part on your website and it looks a different colour to my headphones, is this just a problem with the photo or is the colour different at all?
Cheers
Thanks for the comment. The color should not be different.

Have you ever experienced a problem that causes the left speaker to go out intermittently, i thought it was a loose connection or damaged wire, tore down both sides and could not find any loose or broken wires, (didn't go through the jacketed portion of the headband though)... i've heard this is common, a little bummed given that these headphones cost $350
It’s hard to tell until you send that in for repair. We offer free diagnostics if you choose to send this to our repair center. www.joesge.com/pages/fix-beats-by-dre
My inner panel on my studio 3s are cracked. It just happened by itself. Would that be under warranty? I’ve only had them for like 6 months
Thanks for the comment. Did you have these repaired by JoesGE previously?

How much does this cost? I have this same model of beats studio 3’s with this exact issue. Mine are the defiant red 10 year edition. Thank you

Joe's Gaming & Electronics what about for both sides? I just noticed that the right panel is also cracked and about to break. And could you make a video about how to avoid breaking you headphones? I honestly don’t even know why this happened. I think it may have to do with the way I take them off.
If both inside panels are damaged the estimated price for repair is $120.00. Note that this is only an estimated cost. You will receive a quote as soon as we inspect the headphones. We will not commence repairs until we have your confirmation.
Hey man, thank you for the awesome video. Was wondering where I could purchase the panel from you to repair it

Is this basically the same idea for the studio 2
Thanks for the comment. Yes, studio 2 and studio 3 headphones have a similar build. The studio 2 headphones have less glue holding wires down so the repair should be easier.

Why desolder the speaker?
You have to desolder the speaker wire so that you can run it through the new Inside panel
@joesge but where do you run it through? Doesn't it unclip on the other side and you run it through the new panel on that end?
What if I don’t have a heat gun or solder gun

Nvm turns out I didn’t solder my connections correctly due to all that pink adhesive they put on there 😩😂. Some of the plastic from my speaker melted from the heat but I still should be able to screw it back in .
Damn.. all that to replace a piece of plastic.. and then I'll have to replace the ear pad too after prying it off.
I think this part should be made out of metal instead, so it won't break. But good video though!!
Metal would be way nicer.

Yeaaa… ima just buy some new ones lol thank you tho
Ok mine is cheap and it Rattles i tried to open it and what i heard is a crunch not a click 🙃
im gtting so pissed off i bought a $250 cheap plastic headphones, seriously wish i couldve felt them before buying them. Just holding them feel cheap.
I have now fixed:
- New Pads since the old ones were peeling
- Band snapped when my wife stood up and had them on her thigh
- When i replaced the band i screwed in crooked, It snapped the band AGAIN, at the screw hole
- LOST THE FUCKING SCREW, HAD to order another from china
- They cracked in the inner housing, eventually they are now snapped in half reason why im looking this up
- Since the inner housing snapped the outer housing was supporting the bend which is NOW CRACKED ALSO.....
Total in repairs... :
new pads $15, TWO bands $45, $15 SCREW LOL, $20 inner housing and if i dont stop using them until i fix them $20 for the outer housing. and now i broke the ring outer sticker to get to the screws
ffs. my brother in law was some nice ones, look like theyre wireless and metal feel good too. im never buying beats again. its just the "look" that they give is amazing but theyre far to fragile and all ive been using them is at my desk... the most basic of tasks ever and they sucked.
You are not wrong in some instances.
This is bull! I’m not going through all of this! Dr. Dre got rich off of these peace of crap headphones that has ppl posting videos on how to rebuild them. This is WAY to complicated! In the garbage they go!
What if I don't have a heat gun? :/

All going well until u broke the plug connecter for the aux now I feel like I have to buy new headphones all because of a tiny piece of plastic failing after a flimsy piece of plastic failed (fuck Beats by Dre and fuck apple for not covering this under warranty.)
