Me and my coworker had the same issue with our headphones. I found your video and sent it to my coworker as well. We followed your instructions and it worked perfectly for both of us. Thank you. Great video and instructions.
Hey there! I am very glad you guys were also able to successfully fix your headphones! I wish Apple would sell a replacement kit. One can dream. Enjoy and happy listening!
Damn! I am very sorry to hear this. You can still try apple service, they replace them with new ones and the exchange may be cheaper than getting entirely new ones. This is country dependent.
Well yeah. That’s the sad story. For example bang and olufsen in their beoplay line uses aluminum and real leather that doesn’t deteriorate like this and the ear pads can be bought for a reasonable price from the manufacturer and replaced at home just by a simple twist! Apple have really made this a one use kind of product which dies after any part breaks. It’s sad.
Good job man really helpful..I realized as I was doing it that the stitch seem along the perimeter of the cushion should be facing down towards the ports..they seemed to fit better that way
Thank you so much for this DIY! I just finished replacing mine! It looks brand new! You saved me a ton of cash, this was my new beats studio 3 after my older beats studio pads had the same issue and when I called Apple + various tech shops they said they either don't replace it or I would need to pay an equivalent of a new beats just to replace them!! Thank you so much again!
Appreciate the video. I know it isn't hard but it's nice to see step by step just in case I screw something up which is very easy to do if you aren't careful.
Nice video, i was stressing out bc my pads were super worn out & i didnt know what to do i even thought about buying new beats. Now thanks to this video i changed the worn out pads. Again, sick video.
My beats were won in a contest and I love them so much and don’t wanna pay for more lol and they been tearing off and now they’re DONE. so ordered more and your video helped a lot!!! The struggle to take them off was realllll.
Thanks for the video ---- looks easy enough. I have a pair of wired Beat Solos that I use just for home and the pads just fell off the other night. Probably from sweat because I did use them at the gym for a bit. So I can skip step one. I just busted out the Electrical tape for now, since they still sound good, and never see public lol
l did it along with you on the video. l had the new pads for months but l was scared to do it.l finally got the courage to do it. Your video was very helpful.
Good tutorial on how to replace them I was gonna have my friend do it cuz I didn’t wanna break my studios but this video makes it look easy thank you 💪🏽
I know most people dont have them but if you have those plastic pry tools that you remove the interior panels of a car, use those. Otherwise the butter knife is another easy route.
I have glued oversized rectangular ear pads as a better fit for my Beats Solo model, because I find that those round or oval pads are too small and heat up my ears.
Design wise looks similar to Bluedio TM. Just the oval plastic clips are different. Hopefully when my TM's pads need replacing I'll get the bootleg Beats Studio earpads at Aliexpress because weirdly I cant seem to find the native TM earpads.
Thank you this was helpful I did it with u it was nice to not be alone cuz it felt like I was breaking my headphones at first LOL but it turned out great!
Great explanation. It worked out for me flawlessly. Thank you for the video and explaining the process. Made it easy and comforting to know it could be done. Appreciate you. Blessings to you.
Also to anybody who might see this, be sure to not get to much alcohol on a gauze or whatever the case may be because you don't want to get liquid in the electronics
HELP!!! How do you remove the cloth??????? I tried to use a knife to remove the entire cushion and ALL I got out was the pad, but the cloth is still stuck to it! I'm scared that if I remove it I'll break my headphones. I thought the cloth was connected to the cushion. None of the videos online are showing how to remove the cloth because they were both removed in one piece! Help!!!
Hi There. Let’s calm down a bit. No stress. If all you got was the upper part of the pad and the plastic with the cloth got left stuck.., you will simply have to put the knife in the correct place. What you did was cut the cushion off of it. But you have to literally detach two plastic parts from each other. One layer lower than you did. Take a look at the headphones and there should be a clearly visible gap between two tightly connected plastic parts. That is where you need to very carefully place the knife and bit by bit detach the two glued pieces from each other.
Awesome! Thank you for this video! I was gonna buy a new pair because mine came undone and I can see the yellow foam. Now I'll just replace the cushions!
I used pattex superglue that is good for plastics and transparent in case there was some spillage. www.amazon.de/Pattex-P1BC2-Multi-Power-Kleber/dp/B005I4S8N4
TechBlogPool no worries. Thanks. With how hard that sets do you think there will be an issue next time I have to replace them? Cleaning the old glue off etc?
Do your headphones still work after you do that? I’m very scared because I’m going to get new ear pads for my moms headphones and I don’t want to break it? Help
I’ve had mine for over four years. Mine are in white. The pads are heavily worn but still comfortable. I’m afraid the cheap replacement pads won’t be as high quality. Does anyone know any good ones?
Try the link in video description. I promise you won’t be able to tell the difference. Polyurethane leather is just polyurethane leather. The formula is the same. Apple also orders it from a 3rd party supplier.
When i removed the original cups there was tons of glue on the head phones. Hardest part of the install was removing it. Took lots of time scrubbing with alcohol.
You have to think of it this way.., the pads are from pleather. Not real leather. So they have a limit on longevity. But depending on your use they will last another year to two years easily. And then? For another 10-15$ you can replace them again! I am on my second replacement pads and very happy about it!
I need help on my beats solo 3, when I remove the earcups the glue is stuck there and I tried removing it and it doesn’t work. So I ignored that and put new ear cups and now the ear cups (new) are getting off my beats ):
Hey there. I suggest the following: take them off and use superglue, then let it stick back. Take a bunch of books and place the earphones on them as if they were a head so that you put pressure on the cups against the glue for the night. Next day it should be ok. Don’t worry about the super glue. In 2 years you will be most likely replacing the earphones anyways due to bad battery. Worst case scenario the glue can be removed with a glue remover: amzn.to/39SsrrJ
Hey, don’t heat it up!!!! The headphones are made from very fragile plastic and it will bend, change texture and ripple!!!!! They are not resistant to any form of heat!
@@TechBlogPool Not the headphones, i meant the replacement pads. Before placing them on take a heat gun or a hair dryer and let the hot air sit on the adhesive for like a minute and then clamp them together, eventually when they cool off they will be bonded tighter then they would without heat

This man's video is quite good among the best....I work with small parts is several ways under a microscope. Unless you are trained and follow his directions and keep everything beyond clean, DO NOT TRY this,,,,, If you love your Beats, play someone to do this for you,,,,, my money is on you will fuck it up or make it worse or break your beats ...the plastic on the beats really easy.... I took a shortcut, I wont share that. But as I write this I am listening to classic Rock , If you made Models as a kid , remember how sometime frustrating it was ...DO NOT touch the glue after taking off the red protection plastic.... practice 10 times with the red on. Careful taking off the old Pads ....this is NOT as easy as it looks.....total time for me old off new on satisfactorily was close to 5 hours.... the inner plastic of the old I will use to Mount new ear pads for my very old Beats solo ear cushions... ask me for advise I will try to guide you ...keep patient good luck Martin Nice video , how did that book method work out , no good to me
Thanks for the kind words! A lot depends on the batch of 3M tape they use. These pads used less good one. In the end I decided to use a little bit of glue and that worked wonderfully. It’s still on and I’m still happy. The replacement pads actually lasted a way bit longer than the originals. They still look as new. I got some leather replacement pads and have them ready when these fall apart! Hehe. Truth be told I’ve got new headphones since then but for the gym these are among the best weight and comfort wise.
@@TechBlogPool I liked your video, well made I had problems with the 3M adhesive, I cheated with Super glue very carefully, I didnt like how it looks near where the power cable connector looks , I wont say I can hang a V8 on it , but the ear pads are on and sound better than Day 1, My sister in Law's started to disintegrate 2 years , not daily use like me...I will replace them for her Birthday in August replacements were $10 how much were your leather ones ?
Ohhh, those! Ok well if you have it aligned properly by the oval shape you don’t actually need to care much about the dowels at all. They are only there to guide you.
Hello there! The snapping sound is actually sound of the glue getting unstuck for the first time from the ear pad. When you do this your headphones may but also may not make this sound. This also depends from the age of the headphone as the glue gets drier and stiffer with age. No need to worry. No plastic was broken. Also then you unfold the headphones the mechanisms on the sides make a loud clicking sound.

those headphones are trash man... nobody in music industry would seriously consider using them... its just a marketing product
I only had mine for about 8 months before I noticed the bad quality on the pads and the charging port. I was irritated.

What was the snapping sound. Thanks in advance.
TechBlogPool Ok. And very informative video btw. Great job.

请问,在哪里可以购买到原装耳机的耳罩呢?🤔
English?
Aliexpress
Do the notches really matter?
The notes are there to make sure you place the pads corrects the there is no sound leakage from a gap between the pads and the headphone.
TechBlogPool ooh ok thanks for replying
