- Rosemount Police Chief Mike Dahlstrom believes the Bearcat, which critics decry for 'police militarization' is actually the department's best tool for de-escalation.

Hell nah, I think I feel safe knowing our peace officers have access to resources and equipment such as these vehicles.
I'll say this I fully support police using vehicles like bear cats that are made for civilian law enforcement. The only issue I have is when military vehicles that we used in combat gets in the hand of local LEO. The military vehicles from the start was militarized and made to be intimidating and has capabilities that civilian leo don't face like protections from IED, Rocket Propelled grenade and etc. Deploying them on peace time creates a hostile environment where civilians and police have them and us distinction something an MRAP wether made by Oshkosh or International was made to do because of its large size . So long as we stick to vehicles like the bear cat which was made with LEO in mind this has my support.
If they're using one in a critical situation, the situation is already hostile. Police need better protection with all the crazies out there.
@@okiesailor5417 agreed they need protection from small arms not IED's and Rocket Propelled Grenade therefore a vehicle like the bear cat is perfect not an MRAP.
@@realworldissues better the Police get them and use them instead of scrapping them.
@@okiesailor5417 not really if a country can't differentiate tools used for times of war and times of peace you would have a problem. I mentioned earlier these vehicles are made to be intimidating from the start they are for times of war. If your goal is to create a sense of fear domestically instead of getting police closer to the community as a resource you defeat the purpose. Policing requires community support.
@realworldissues , you're entitled to your opinion and I disagree with you. Peace out
Look how awesome our toy is and remember we live in a dangerous time. Now give us more money to buy more toys to make the world a more dangerous place. For officer safety, of course.
