To those who commented the officer was out of shape, you're missing the point. He ran towards the gunfire. He put his life in harm's way. He is an officer in the true sense of the word. He was there to serve and protect.
He experienced an adrenalin dump when he heard the initial gunshots. Then, against his natural instincts to avoid danger, he didn't walk, he ran towards the threat. That caused another adrenaline dump. He may as well have had an elephant on his back as to have that much adrenalin in his system and still keep moving forward after more than a minute or two. Adrenaline is an instant stimulant, too much for too long has an opposite effect. No amount of physical or tactical training could prepare a person to do better than he did. He is a beast...and a hero.
You misspelled the word “walked” and you accidentally wrote “ran”. How many more people could he have saved if he had actually ran? Also, how many people could have been saved if more civilians there had firearms. Maybe no lives had to be lost if more good guys had weapons.
Can you imagine the adrenaline pumping through this officer? And he did what he was trained to do, putting his own life at risk to save others. This is a reminder for us all of how quickly circumstances can change in a moment. High praise for this hero!
His heart rate must've been 160+ BPM with all that adrenaline. No wonder he was gasping for air at times. The fact that he pushed through it speaks volumes about him.
40 is still a lot to run that far in while screaming at people to run and still shoot as well as he did, but honestly I thought it would've been heavier. Modern gear is even heavier than the medieval plate armor people think you can't even run in.
If you think that's impressive, Cal Fire crews carry up to 70lbs in the worst conditions imaginable and can work 24 hour shifts. It's a stressful situation, but the officer definitely needs to work on cardio.
Why are we not hearing more about this outstanding police officer? Why are we not holding him up to the world as an example of what officers face each day and the professionalism they display? One thing i noticed was when he yells "GET OFF THE AIR!" at 5:03 the comms go silent, because he's trying to focus and listen to the shots from the shooter. And since he is the one who had the knowledge on the situation and is engaging the shooter, he is in command of the operation.
@@davidaustad7798 He says "get off the air" for a number of reasons: 1) the beeping is distracting in a high stress situation, 2) the noise from his radio can give away his position to the shooter and put the officer in danger

@@kenhernandez8928No have you seems the videos up police standing there waiting for backup that’s just being scared this police officer did his job bravely
I think this officer has done some time in the military based on a couple of things. the mere fact that he ran in on foot not to give his position way and to listen on where the fire is coming from is one. range and direction of target engagement for him. The second was the exceptional weapon discipline he had right before he neutralized the target. We conduct reflexive fire training and always have to manipulate the safety on our weapon systems. He took it off safe, fired 3 slow rounds, went back into cover putting it in safe. Then came out of cover flipped the selector switch back to fire and rapidly fired 3 rounds. once he was done he put that weapon back on safe. For those that say his vest is heavy, its not. Hes wearing a IIIa Vest which has little weight to it. however his duty belt is where all that weight is. be glad that hes is not wearing level IV plates. I carried level IV plates on 4 deployments and those are heavy (front, back and side plates all 1 inch thick). He was running on pure adrenaline and even with everything hes done, he was calm under pressure. I commend him for neutralizing the hostile threat and I hope that he is awarded for his bravery. outstanding
Calm people don’t curse when going through an intense situation like this officer right here, it’s highly unprofessional and needs to watch his language next time this happens lol 💀

It was Florida where the acquittal took place. As per the law an officer isn't required to run towards the gunfire or the shooting until backup arrives.
This lone officer did everything right, putting the safety of others above his. He puts the Uvalde officers and troopers to shame. This video will be used in national law enforcement training. This officer deserves a parade in his honor.
Cant even explain how happy and thankful I am that we have people like this willing to put their safety at risk, running towards the threat so that others can run away safely.. Respect of the highest degree.
It’s mind blowing to me that this isn’t plastered on ever screen in America. It sends a message of what will happen to those who try to harm the innocent. Instead of making these mass shooters famous. I pray this HERO finds peace with knowing he did all he could as soon as possible
At one point he's so tired, he slows to a heavy walk. But then hearing and seeing the devastation, he forces himself to run once again. And still somehow manages to control his breathing enough to get off accurate, long shots. The murderer also fires back and the officer simply shifts back and fires again. Amazing man.

those people willnever undestand running with 25-30 pound of gear
In Texas humidity and heat.
He is a beast...and a hero.
adrenaline kicks in - that's why he breathing so heavy
You misspelled the word “walked” and you accidentally wrote “ran”. How many more people could he have saved if he had actually ran? Also, how many people could have been saved if more civilians there had firearms. Maybe no lives had to be lost if more good guys had weapons.
Can you imagine the adrenaline pumping through this officer? And he did what he was trained to do, putting his own life at risk to save others. This is a reminder for us all of how quickly circumstances can change in a moment. High praise for this hero!
And he remained surprisingly calm during the whole event.
His heart rate must've been 160+ BPM with all that adrenaline. No wonder he was gasping for air at times. The fact that he pushed through it speaks volumes about him.
