- In a tragic incident captured on shocking bodycam footage, a Utah man was killed in a police shootout on June 6th after allegedly opening fire on officers. According to the Ogden Police Department, 36-year-old Brian Simonton began firing at law enforcement who responded to a 911 call from his ex-wife claiming he was violating a protective order against her. The intense exchange of gunfire left one officer wounded before Simonton was fatally shot by police.

The cop shot that gudder 3 times because he wasn't trained well enough.
at 10:45 the cop shoots the gudder for the 3rd time.
why say alleged ?
It's a legal thing so they have to say "Allegedly" basically stops them getting sued etc
Imagine the ex wife, in her apartment, hearing all those gun shots...she knew he was going to end this today. What a sad story. Glad the wounded officer is out of the hospital.
あなたの話に涙が出ました。

I kept imagining the same thing. Must have been absolutely heart wrenching. I bet she still doubts herself to this day for calling the police but I think this was inevitable with his mental state.
She was saved that day
...I'm not defending this guy he choice that to happen to him...but what if the ex wife just give him his dog if it just he ask...maybe he just walk away peacefully with his dog and that incident won't happen...just my opinion...
@@joergeabanador2423I think you’re delaying the inevitable. Something bad was eventually coming. He is shooting at cops, clearly not a stable person
The first cops utter concern when he realized a neighbor was outside was heart felt! He actually cares! Great Job!

Well, I must confess that the final outcome doesn't make me sad.
The first officer, he was "running in to danger" just to protect and serve the public. That takes a lot of courage! A speedy and full recovery to him!
Officers did the community a huge favor by putting this loose cannon down before he could kill anyone
The crossfire was unbelievable. You could actually hear the bullets ricocheting. Definitely a stressful situation, the one LEO was blowing holes in the gutter right in front of him.
It’s good for extra drainage, that gutter was probably clogged up
I’m really surprised none of the cops grabbed a rifle, it’s pretty difficult to hit someone moving around at that distance with a handgun especially in a high stress situation like that.
Agreed. There should always be one sniper among them.
Did anyone else notice at the corner where the female officer was they shot the down spout pipe two or three times
Agreed. Pretty stunning that nobody had a rifle. You don't need a sniper, just a rifle.
Thats the first thing I thought too, why did no one have a rifle? I thought all cops had them in their cars now.

Why none of these cops brought a rifle with them to a known man with a gun call is beyond me....

When these women have protective orders and the guys violate it and come back armed, that is typically a horrid situation for the woman or whomever initiated the order! Thank goodness she was unharmed and thank you to the police!

He did it to himself. He knew what would happen. His ex wife should not take any blame for this unfortunate incident. Others should do the same and called the cops if and when some ex disregards the court orders and come near you intentionally

Nope. To these guys, it’s either his life or your life.
Facts
Correct! She called to defuse the situation but she did know he needed help and it may turn out wrong which is why she warned them of everything including the firearm. He was going to end someone eventually but it would've been her most likely.
Of course its "his fault" but as to whether she should take any blame. Thats a little more complicated. At best her choices lacked a pragmatic approach and common sense due to dispatch asking "will he cooperate with officers" she said "uhhhh im scared how this is going to turn out". She knew he was likely armed, and she knew hed likely shoot it out with the cops when they got there. If its true (and shes the one who said it) that all she had to do to de escalate and potentially resolve the situation was to take the dog. Then she could call ASPCA or whatever later. Point being, she didn't do anything that wasnt within her rights, but not being able to think pragmatically or with common sense, being that simply accepting the dog wouldve diffused the entire situation and she chose to instead say no and call the cops. As its been established she consciously knew the likely outcome of bloodshed and mayhem. Its hard for me to agree that given she had the power to prevent what she knew was likely going to happen. She knows that, and she will now have to live with the guilt shes definitely going to feel and i in the spirit of honesty wouldnt attempt to convince her otherwise.
This woman was too scared to be a cop. As soon as shots were fired she backs away.
It's called taking cover, conservative. She will certainly live longer than you would as a cop.
THANK YOU, officers, for your service to the community. The world doesn't need more simonton-types running around, causing mayhem! I hope the brave officer who was hit has made a full recovery!
I would NOT thank these officers. They literally started a war in civilian neighborhood trying to catch one single not trained guy with the gun. Just try to count how many shots those officers fired with no damage to the suspect before they finally get that guy shot down. It's unbelievable! As a civilian I whish to see professionals who well trained and know what they're doing and not starting shootout on the streets with a million shots fired. I appreciate their sacrifice but as I said that would be better if they would be trained well.
they know what they are doing, how else are you suppose to defend off an armed person who is literally firing rounds at you? they basically did the only logical thing to try and stop him. Police officers are trained professionally and know their way around a firearm. Its also really hard to concentrate on the target when you are getting fired at aswell. The average M1911 also isnt good for medium ranges and its accuracy is harder to predict at further ranges, so them managing to take the criminal down is very impressive.@@andersspiegel1216
wrong firearm, the gun they are using is the glock 21 im pretty sure. But still, its hard to aim when your getting shot at and when your also radioing at the same time.

I understand why you think its funny but I sincerely hope you are never put in that position yourself, it becomes a lot less funny when your friend just got shot, you're getting shot at, and shooting back, adrenaline pumping, ears blasted out from the noise etc etc
We’ll just because someone is shot doesn’t mean you can’t move. The officers are telling him that so that he doesn’t get shot anymore. Tension is high, stress is through the roof, adrenaline is off the charts, anger and rage is flowing throughout the body because someone tried to kill you and If you make a move it’s likely you will be shot. Especially if you move towards a weapon on the ground. Also just because the suspect has a gun doesn’t mean he only has one. Many cops have been shot by a second gun they didn’t see. He makes any move except his hands out and away from his body and any weapons will be considered an assertive move and will be dealt with as a threat.
a drone w/ 2 shots of high caliber would be VERY handy during such confrontation....criminal wouldn't know what hits them....
I liked their communication with each other and they were all cool, calm and collected, even the officer that got shot. Sounded very professional and I'm glad the officer and the others are ok. The first cop gave me anxiety watching ! He literally kept playing hide and seek and pointed his gun at the ground ! He has a red dot and had a tactical advantage and he just gave it away
He wasn’t the only one. They need better training unfortunately the worlds falling apart it seems and this is more frequent
Red dot, at that range in broad daylight and no scope? No chance that’s in play.
Officer did it right. Perp got a lucky round off.
He was taking cover.
Shooter was able to take cover then fire on the officer. There's a lot of cover in that apartment complex to be taken! So scary.
@@LikeLikeLikeLikeLike cars don’t offer much cover they offer concealment. You never take your eyes and gun off the threat. That’s how he ended up Shot.
Been in combat a longtime ago and this still brings tears when I heard #1 responder was hit.
Why tears? I'm a Combat Veteran too.
@@GR-le1ms Obviously he means the teammate was carrying the bomb, in which case he has to painstakingly backtrack to where he was killed and pick up the load to complete the mission. The opponent could be camping etc. omg totally feel with that.
That one lady cop though
"Show us your HAHHNNDZ!" 😂
Did you guys see the bullet holes in the gutter? The officers had a good angle to fire and maintain cover, this just happened because the positioned officer had to send multiple consecutive rounds downrange resulting in a lot of recoil. If it had been someone less trained, there wouldn't have been a gutter to mention.
So nobody in that police department has a long gun? That was painful to watch. Taking shots at 100 yard with a pistol is insane
The Full Video is Intense.... Real Life Action is Traumatic . WOW....
It really was crazy! Shooter was able to take cover between cars, behind shrubs etc.. and fire on officers from there. At times they didn't even know where he was and couldn't tell where the shots were coming from due to the echo. Those metal awnings multiply the sound as well.
Well atleast he won't be bothering anyone ever again
I hope she doesn’t feel any guilt or if she is I hope she’s recovering
I wouldn't do the job of a police officer for all the money in the world. Takes special kind of people 💙🙏
Not in the divided states of Madmerica
Man there are amazing cops out there, they put it all on the line, thank you, all of you!
If he spent some time fixing those landscaping failures he would be in a happier place
At least we don't have to pay for the fool to be in and out of jail now :D
This is messed up. So instead of just taking the dog and getting it some help a Man is Dead and a Officer is wounded. And the dog still needs help. Wow.
yes ! My thoughts also. All because this self centered selfish woman could not be bothered to help a sick dog and his master. Consider for a moment, if it was a homeless female turning up at the door of an ex. boyfriend with her sick puppy ! And the guy slammed the door on her face, called the cops and then followed up by informing them that she is carrying a gun. The MSM would have had a field day with that one. There would have been midnight candle lit memorials for the dead woman and all the cops involved would have been suspended.
@@jimreilly6933 Yeah I hope the lady has many nights of horrible nightmares from what she has done.
@@jimreilly6933 its always the same bullsh*t, men are always the one to blame in this society, while women always win in whatever situation. I wonder why tons of men end up going crazy or having PTSD or taking their own lives. Why would it be🤔🤔?
😭😭my heart breaks for everyone involved
Especially the dog.
@@pumba1054 Maybe, ‘also’ the dog would be a better choice of words.
@@justkiddin84 especially the dog
@@justkiddin84don’t put words in our mouths.
@@justkiddin84*”especially the dog” is better
The fact that they had to call that many times and say hey a want a guy removed from the property
that AR 15 would have came in handy there
These officers seriously need to go back to the shooting academy to learn how to hit a moving target 😅 they're all shouting embarrassingly
Hope the dog recovers and finds a good home.
I know me too I kind of wonder if the ex-wife regrets not just taking the dog to a shelter instead of causing all this.
@@Mike-01234 ..... One of the most senseless comments here. He only brought the dog to her because he wanted a shoot out with the Police to end his life. She didn't cause anything, she helped it find a good end.
The quota-hire female cop was in no hurry to back up the first officer and was totally useless once she finally got there.
Law enforcement is amazing! 💗
On cop shows on tv when a suspect is shot you see the policeman / detectve still carrying his gun after the event, but in true life will all the eight officers who discharged their gun have to sacrifice the firearm and be assigned other duties till a report on the incident is concluded.
