- The Buffalo Police Department released bodycam footage showing officers opening fire on a man who allegedly shot at officers during a high-speed pursuit on March 29, 2022. Officers approached the suspect about his window tints in a parking lot and found out that his registration was suspended. A high-speed chase began after the driver fled the scene. During the chase, the suspect allegedly shot at officers while driving his vehicle. The chase ended when the driver crashed his vehicle into a billboard pole. Police opened fire on the suspect, who allegedly continued to shoot at officers. The suspect was apprehended and taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries. An Erie County judge indicted the suspect on 7 felony counts and one misdemeanor. Three officers were injured from gun shot wounds.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Of the three officers who were shot during the pursuit of Kente Bell, 28, this past March, two were hit by friendly fire.
On Wednesday morning, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn provided an update on the charges against Bell, who has been indicted on five counts of first-degree attempted murder. Originally, he was only facing three counts.
During the chase, which spanned numerous busy streets and temporarily crossed into Cheektowaga before returning to Buffalo, numerous shots were fired. Flynn believes at least 14 came from Bell.
DA Flynn reveals new details on high-speed chase, man accused of shooting 3 BPD officers
Of those shots fired, at least one struck a Buffalo police officer. Two other officers were hit by bullets from other officers, they are officers Joseph McCarthy and Christopher Wilson. The DA made it clear that only one of the five counts of attempted murder against Bell pertains to the officer who was allegedly shot by Bell. The friendly fire bullets that struck the other two officers are not counted in those charges.
Although every shot fired by a police officer was legally justified, according to officials, Flynn indicated that some of the officers should have been safer about their weapon use.
“There’s no penal law that articulates common sense, so I can’t charge any Buffalo police officer with a violation of common sense,” Flynn said.

This isn't reckless at all, this is actually how self defense happen. Not to mention, all cops carry, hollow point rounds prevent over penetration and have good training. For example, hollow point round will not continue to over penetrate and only expand on impact.
The amount of reckless shooting is astonishing
that dude got some lead poisoning LMAO
the crossfire here was insane.
It’s crazy enough to see this stuff but when you see it in ur home town driving past places you know and pass frequently really makes you shiver.
I started watching this not knowing it was buffalo until the end of the video, when I seen the back of their vests... you hear of shooting on the news all the time but never see it so it's never real... Until now I guess....
Try living in Houston will all the police shootings and stuff swear I recognize everywhere but yea it’s so sad cause that sense of security and comfort is gone
yep, i live in south buffalo. not nearly as bad as east side buffalo but hearing them call out those streets that I know makes me feel pretty bad. we're the city of good neighbors, need to act like it
this is so cool, i love america
Yeah that's a total radical concept,
You can hear the desperation in that officer’s voice as he’s talking about the shots coming from the suspect. Must be so terrifying!!
It actually sounds like fun!
This is nothing compared to a front line soldier 😂
@@presacanariokw8943 and even more from a back line soldier...
@@oliveryt7168 Wym cuz the back line soldiers are waiting to go to the frontlines?
@ 8:20 : How a genius does a driveby shooting. Why waste your own bullets when you can get the cops to shoot at the houses for you?
WoW how reckless these officers are..
In order to shoot accurately at a distance with a side arm your weapon needs to have at least a 6 inch barrel
Those cops appear to know nothing about firearm safety, do they even get any training?
The defund the police campaign. We need more funding for the police!
Of course they don't get any training. Ask any liberal and they'll tell you that the first day on the job their Sergeant issues them a fully semi-automatic assault gun, a clip with some bullets in it and wishes them the best of luck.
I'm biting my tongue now so I don't write something I'll regret.
I felt like there aim was good, plus you can't really see the gun fire anyway
These cops at the end literally walked right into each other’s line of fire opposite of car
bro that cop shooting out the window of his car was playing gta fr.
The potential for crossfire was unbelievable! Amazing no police officers were injured.
Cops driving down the road, hanging out the window discharging their weapons, freaking crazy.
Wild Shyt
Something from GTA V but IRL! Ludicrous. How is that STILL a thing with cops to this day?? I've seen this in multiple other raw videos too! WTFF
Das what I said, they can do that??? 🤨🧐🤔
@RUclips Channel god blessed her and jammed her gun. One shot they'll overlook an entire clip she's out of there maybe
@RUclips Channel There was. One of em was fired, and one resigned before they could be fired.
SMH Never cease to amaze me why ride around with an expired registration and tinted windows knowing you’re packing heat. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
rip kev
Everyone of these cops should buy a lottery ticket. They all ready won the cross fire lottery.
Bad guy or good guy, you're responsible for every round you fire.
Man this goes against all gun safety training I’ve ever had, I’m glad no one got hurt, but I freaked out a few times watching this, I don’t know if they are well trained or lucky.
Let's call it luck, everyones sector of fire was riddled with unclean backstops. Any rounds that went through the car to the other side could have hit another officer. This city needs to train its cops better in gun safety and safe firing practices.
Tactics and marksmanship were ALL questionable. Training must be mandated for all involved.
Everyone needs to account for every single round fired, especially after ole boy is still alive and well enough to be arraigned. Public safety turned out to certainly be at risk for what was initially a minor Traffic violation. "For tints"??? Smh
I mean they got the criminal. Better then defund the police
I was think more about all the houses and cars on the other side of the target that were certainly at risk. Lucky no stray bullet injuries or death
@@christopherdominique714 cops were on the other side too.
The Buffalo police need serious firearms training on how to shoot accurately, and, not to fire with such recklessness. Danger to themselves and any other persons in that area! How they missed the suspect with all those rounds hitting the suv, I am amazed he was still alive...
Well shooting a gun, especially in a high-stress situation can be hard, and not to forget that bullets can bounce/ricochet of metals with would change the bullet trajectory by millimeters and some are also pretty lucky not to have gotten hit, and stuff gets even harder when someone is moving, however, this can be trained to a certain degree, but most Agencys lack funding (wonder why) to provide the officers with the training, and some agencies don't even provide such training.
@@guywithnovoice5048 you're telling me some police forces don't train their officers how to use a firearm!

That ending brought back memories of Bonnie and Clyde. I'm surprised the driver survived.
Officer Torres really was in danger, as he was just in front of the shooters line. Lucky man. Well done.
A suspended car registration becomes multiple counts of attempted murder. The suspect should have been given the Darwin Award.
They were going to find the gun on him

@@china-pig There is no thinking in an 85 IQ brain.
That's the thing criminals don't think they break the law that's why they ran. Cops should have been a better shot and save some tax payers some money.
Maybe next time
This department needs to get to the shooting range ASAP for additional training!!!
Need to go back to six shooters maybe then they'll learn how to hit their target
I’ve never seen such incompetent use of firearms. They all need training in use of firearms.
I actually live only less then a mile away from the bridge in the first scene, on the same side of the river too. scary to know this hapoend so close to me
Man, the B.S. our cops have to put up with on a daily basis is overwhelming. I'm glad no cops were killed in this situation. Much respect to them.
Its pretty "F" up the what the News has done to those on the force....the irony though is look at our cities today as a result of the progressive agendas
When putting up all those names of cops it should be them getting medals for how and what they did. " I am hit....it`s OK Lets go"....
Stop. This does not happen on a daily basis. That’s why it’s big news when it does.
@@egomania3878 Oh, I guarantee it happens more than you think!!
Police Get In Shootouts Everyday? *As Well As Being The Common Denominator?*
-Astonishingly Wild-
That was a ton of shots fired in public areas. Close to that many homes and everything as well, that's pretty crazy. Even when you have good aim shooting out of a moving vehicle towards businesses and other vehicles seems dangerous.
problem is they didnt have good aim... scary job scary situation but this was a total mess... too many people were put at risk here even themselves...i get they had to stop this chase but what a mess that was...serious training required how they didnt shoot each other or public is pure luck... now for those who say it wasnt luck it was targeted shooting... re watch how many shots fired and they didnt kill the perp...
Exactly my thoughts
ya.we should just let him go on to better things. It would be cool if he shot 3 10 yr olds and his parents. and then 3 cops. meanwhile lets let him shoot up a A MALL. Yaaaaa BOOOOIII!!!! Law and Order. When the cops dont do it > Civilians will. And we wont be half as Nice.

He’s a 🐷. They don’t think as humans do..
If I shoot my gun I get a free paid vacation. Call of duty time baby! Pew pew pew
Yeah It must have been one of those cross firing situations that caused the friendly fire hits on those three cops
The Crossfire was serious and I'm surprised no other Officers where hit!
The Crossfire was scary. .. But they got that punk off the street. You can bet this will be a training video every in almost every academy and should be.
The district attorney's office said it was determined only one of the officers was shot by Bell, and the other two were struck by friendly police fire.
I was noticing the same thing, two of them were even firing from the exact opposite sides, as if they were firing to each other...
Little concern for the occupants in the homes in the background while they were shooting at the moving vehicle as it passed by.
Or civilians walking down the street or other drivers on the road. That was ridiculous the way those cops were just blindly firing like that. One officer was literally holding their gun out the window with on hand firing while they were diving at a very high rate of speed.
That was crazy dangerous, got to be a better way.
Judge: “Why did you shoot the offender 172 times?”
Police: “We ran out.”
nothing wrong with a good ol magdump
Those officers need to brought back and trained on how and when to fire their weapons. Maybe some target practice too. That clown should’ve never been able to get out of that situation alive.
I am shocked how someone can survive from so many bullets.
It’s a shame he did. They shouldn’t render aid. Just let him bleed out at that point. I’d rather pay to have him buried than in prison for life.
How many times was he hit?
