I want the record to show that while yes my spotting was horrible for the logs, I was busy filming 😭😂😂
omg Cris thank you so much for that!
this was the best use case of offroading I ever seen!
no staging & scripted! just realistic & genuine!
This is legit the best offroad test I've seen of the Cybertruck. I feel like this deserves some shorts to get people watching the whole thing. Really cool.
We can officially say that this is a Dirty Tesla
Muddy Tesla
worst spotter . . . I can't believe he didn't stop you when that log got turned 90 degrees! Big-Oooof! Love the Cybertruck though!
Chris, I think you should get under your truck and look at the underbody to check for any damage, yikes
I highly doubt the battery was damaged AT ALL. Theres a good several inches of space for it to crush
Kinda figured he'd be alright even with it going like that😭😂
Especially with commands like "go that way", rather than driver or passenger.
😂 he was filming too soooo
There is a little something you might want to learn about for off-roading - suspension rebound. While you might have plenty of STATIC clearance, it is important to come off of obstacles very SLOWLY as the suspension will hit the next surface and COMPRESS which will reduce your clearance and you might just hit something important under the truck. The slower you go, the less rebound and loss of clearance you will have. It can also be important for daily driving if you drive over a curb or something. When you come down on the far side of the curb, the suspension will compress and you might hit bottom behind the tire.
Not that big deal with the Cybertruck, there's nothing sensitive there. And the battery has a big air gap inside, so even a serious dent wouldn't be dangerous.
The old Model S is even better, it has a titanium armor plate in the front. It crushes cinder blocks without getting scratched.
That, sir, was PAINFUL!! But a shi*load of fun. Great vid!
Why didn’t you use locking differentials on the logs and the first rock climb? It would have really helped!
Overall you did great man. I’ve taken mine on some mountain roads with lots of holes washboard and whoops driving fast, using Baja Mode. Super fun, and now it has the option for rugged roads, and I’ve needed that setting. It does way better than other pickups and Jeeps.
If it really has a mechanical locking diff, then it should definitely be on in many of these tests.
But, there's no center diff, and I doubt software based "locking" between axles is working as well as a good, ole mechanical center-diff-lock.
@@jsjs6751they are mechanical I think on the dual motor as one motor for each axle, not each wheel.
@@jsjs6751
From what I've seen the software works well. And will get more tuning over time, that's one of the advantages of Tesla.
@@jsjs6751no need for a centre diff when you have separate motors for each axle and can now vary how much power goes to each one on the fly. Can't do that with a centre diff!
The race against the quad looked like a couple of RC cars racing in the dirt 😅
That front camera is HUGELY helpful.
Those donuts were pretty nuts!
But negative points for clickbait.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Well done!
Nothing gained is a good way to put it
Nothing feels better than off-roading in a $120k vehicle.
Sure, as long as it belongs to someone else.
i dont know man
Nothing feels better than off-roading in a $120k vehi- I mean a $100k ve- an $85k vehic- dammit a $70k veh- oh for F***s sake
The vehicle serves you, not the other way around. Nobody complains when someone uses a $100,000+ Ford/GM off road - shrugs -
Not to Self: When Chris puts his Cybertruck up for sale in a few years, don't buy it. But kudos to the truck for surviving that brutal log course.
Not sure I'd test my $100K Cybertruck like what you did, Chris - but, it was a great test and you sure proved that Tesla built a great product - amazing!!!
people are testing more expensive products in much harder ways! if that was really a tough truck you would do real offroad! why not the hells revenge that tesla "faked" on youtube"
I would. I don't think you can break anything expensive, unless you do something really stupid.
It would’ve been dope to have some outside footage of you shredding the dirt track!!
Was it in extract or very high for the logs? Might want to check the battery pack's bottom pan.
That charger would be ideal for electric dirt bikes. Top up over lunch!
All this off-roading and no exhaust fumes to breath and no obnoxious engine noise 👍
nonsense! its alwsays the same lame comments and arguments! did you make your own vehicel before even giving your point!? there are literaly 30 years old toyota hilux with 90hp that does much better offroad than this and in third world countries in very harsch environments without any good roads or infrastructures.
Hopefully after putting the vehicle through all that he gave it a once over at the mechanic to ensure the daily driver is good enough to continue its life.
Even armoured tanks get maintenance after battle activity.
It was more a driving on a dirt road and far from a true off-road.
A few minutes inspection under the car, if there is any impact on the chassis cover, and if everything is fine around the brakes/shock absorbers, that's it.
@@dchubworldsharenetwork
Driving over logs is far from true off-road? Driving up stairs is not off-road? What is true off-road then?
This is like the "I drive 1000 miles every day without stopping to pee" crowd, that pops up every time when EV range is discussed.
Driving over logs was the only point where he "could" damage the chassis or something in front...
But the car did not get stuck on the logs with the front wheels off the ground. Damage to the chassis, part(s) or electrical cables due to the weight of the car.
So it was more cosmetic damage than chassis/parts damage.
Everything else was just driving on a dirt road, nothing strong/heavy enough to seriously damage parts on the chassis.
If the car can't handle a fairly normal drive on a dirt road, then it's better that he just burns the car down. 🤣
Sure... Easy Off-road. 🙂
It's not something that requires 10 hours to check the chassis, etc.. Easy inspection if there is anything that is visible, etc.
Check on RUclips. Off-road...
@@dchubworldsharenetwork
So it doesn't count as off-road if the car is still drivable at the end?
Is 25 the right tire pressure for off-road? Would be nice if it told you what pressure to use based on the terrain and mode.
you can go as low as 10 and its gonna bascially help you for any terrain you just dont want to go fast with the pressure that low because you can pop the bead or roll over the side walls.
Tesla recommends 35ish so your tires don't come off but you can see here it did ok
I like how the Cybertruck performed during your testing. I'm surprised.
You’r supposed to take the mudguards off when you go off-roading.
Oh. You knew that.
or dont go offroading at all!
Honestly surprised to see a solar panel in Michigan. I mean, I guess it’s better than nothing I suppose. Any chance of taking it out for a day to Mt Morris at The Mounds?
+1 for getting outside your comfort zone.
Love to see full send of the Cybertruck through that park ...Probably ruin it but what a hoot that would be!
Oh, I'm just loving that you're pushing your Cybertruck, Chris! Hell yeah!
Lots of respect for this. Great vid.
Great video. Really showed that the truck is a capable truck to take off road. Anything more and should get a custom off roader anyway💪
Ouch - you need a new spotter!
I couldn’t do that to my Tesla 😅
I thought your wife was recording until I heard that grizzly bear voice. 😂
The timing of this video with Everyday Chris’s most recent video is hilarious.
Nobody gets quite this _Down and Dirty_
We love your work Chris.
did you film this before or after the update that activated the diff lockers
Awesome Truck. Can't believe you are doing this.
Congrats! You went 1:23 before the firstly "cool."
All seems to be so easy
does this have locking differentials feature?
Yes
Yeah I use them later in the video
Your test is more realistic than Tesla's,
Only in this way can we know exactly what the Cybertruck's capabilities are.
Needs some BFG K02’s to get more traction. I’m still waiting for my CT reservation to come thru.
That 4 wheeler is trying HARD to get run over
HA YOU got to tow a quad out of the water!
18 degrees of inclination...?
My Model S dual motor does hill start at 15 degrees... in snow... easy. 😊
I thank you for your service! 😂
23:00 that charger is for Zero and Livewire electric bikes
Back
Never drive it off road or in the rain or snow. In fact keep it away from your home or other cars or strucures.
Its a dam heavy explosive paperweight
I hope you're just joking and don't believe that. Sad if you've been brainwashed :(
I'm pretty sure each of these character's 23&me DNA results specifically says 0.00% country-boy
what's the flag for?
Visibility of other ppl around
When is offroad FSD coming? I guess you need on road first.
Did you let your buddy drive it at all? 😂
Yeah it's near the end
This looks you had a loads of fun. You are correct, paint in this environment will results in tons of chips and scratches.
"Like i care" ?
What's up bro very entertaining video considering this your daily driver I was shocked you did off roading but good news no major damage and also I was wondering when I was checking out I only got 10% off your code for ridge wallet do I need to subscribed my email to get the additional 30 % off ?
How come everything is "intimidating"? 10yo kids around me go over tougher stuff on worn out old 4 wheelers and beat up riding mowers. Men his age usually have some old Toyotas that go to a hell of a lot more then this. Its fuckin embarrassing
Like this video. Just like your other CT vids, you demonstrate real use cases. While it’s interesting to see the truck have its limits be pushed, the average person is not doing that every day. This vid is probably exactly how things would go if I got talked into taking my CT to an off road course by my buddies. Of course I’m not gonna do 90% of what you did because I like to take care of my road vehicles. 😂
Stop Wilson out. I made it up that my old Nissan, 2 Wheel Dr..
Great, now if I ever do get a Cybertruck I won't have to do that shit you just did to your truck. 👍👍
I wanna go back 😈
Great video! Best Cybertruck content yet
45 mph off road!
Some gone over 100 mph off-road. The heavy-duty air suspension does it's job.
Cheers guys it did gooood
Lmfaooo 32k views definitely not worth the loss, you mis calculated your audience
That was actually awesome. Good job😂
I'm no offroad guy here but I'm pretty sure those are called potato tires in the community.
Ding dong Tesla tells you to remove the mud flaps when going off road….but you already knew that didn’t you!
Never buy a used Cybertruck...
Why did he let you drive over that log?
Why didn't he see it with the cameras
👍
lol, the simps in this comment section is crazy
I think the quad could easily get out of that puddle on its own 😅
I would cry myself to sleep if you washed your truck afterward.
Instructions for off-roading specifically say to remove mudguards before high clearance rock climbing off roading.
I would hate to off road with that steering "wheel" (rounded rectangle). That is the first thing that needs to go IMO.
?
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS WHAT IS SO FUN DESTROYING A NICE TRUCK LIKE THAT.
These are real I saw one in Vegas I asked guy what kind of car is that he couldn't hear me. They are fucken cool looking as fuck play toy
There was no reason that the other guy should not have been driving.. He obviously had more experience. Chris, you were just throttling too hard, all the time.
His truck, his opportunity to learn how.
And the point of this is?
The worst thing i could think of is someone with little offroad skill driving the Cybertuck through there. Have fun.
At what point do you guys admit this thing sucks ?
At what point do you admit that the CT is more capable than you haters say?
The driver’s limited windshield view and rear view mirror is such a deal breaker. This was supposed to be a utilitarian vehicle but it looks like Tesla went for looks rather than function and ease of operability.
Finally :)
Cyber is too long and the over weight is making fail to do off road ..
brb
Cybertruck is not meant for rock climbing... this is not off roading.
I can't wait to see the video 6 months from now, when there's some sort of charging system failure, or drive unit failure, and Tesla refuses to do a $30,000 repair under warranty because of cosmetic damage to the underbelly of the car.
Weird that would wish something so awful to happen to me. But there's no damage
@@DirtyTesla I don't want something awful to happen to you... but what do you think the outcome would be?? You know Tesla's history, you know Tesla's track record. There's only one way this is going to go. Something WILL go wrong... because it's a Tesla... and Tesla WILL deny your warranty... because they're Tesla, and you've given them an excuse. It's like you're saying that you're gonna leap on a sword, and I'm saying "that'll kill ya", and you're saying "why do you want bad things to happen to me?". Bro. Get real here.
@@Nabeelco
You seem to be consuming awful lot of propaganda. Nothing you wrote is a real thing.
CT is not meant to be all-truck to all people. You must tow or do hard-core 4X4? It is not for you. It's ok, 75-80% of PU are used as urban lifestyle, for soccer mom/dad to project rugged looking but just carry golf clubs. Let the folks look tough, offroadsie, even like GI Joe, (eHummer but smarter), while the 230V 🔋 power will actually help contractors do their work. It's win-win.
Comment I saw elsewhere “A clapped out Subaru Baja with 275k miles and a blown head gasket could do that.” The love for this dumpster on wheels in these comments is *insane*. Do you all know there’s something wrong with you? I’m guessing not. But everyone else does.
Your inability to appreciate others having fun with a vehicle they like is what's wrong with you.
You could have easily made it over those logs. You had it but then quit
"How not to off-road"
1 word: remarkable.
Thank you @Chris for abusing your CT. Can’t wait for the aftermarket industry to transform this into a true CyberBeast.
word: average! a subaru is already better than than that with just 180hp and a CVT, imagine a subaru with manual or conventional automatic gearbox.
@@carholic-sz3qv bud; I love Subaru. I can dream of the capabilities - I don't deny it. tbh, the common folk would render that trans to hell and back. battery is not the solution, but it's the start of a conversation. is it hydrogen? is it solar? lets try.....
fuck I hate myself............................
Why would you go off-roading with a vehicle that doesn’t have a spare tire?
if you take more risk and have compelling thumbnails your channel would do so much better.
Arrogant much?
@@jamesengland7461 I don’t mean to be. Im a long time subscriber I think he knows. 😂
He didn't read the owners manual.
I take it your off roading knowledge is Zero?
There are a lot of people who feel once they have a vehicle that is great to offroad they automatically have the knowledge as well! Well they don’t!
Any vehicle no matter how good it is will fail if driven my a numpty!
Some like to learn by doing. Some read all the cheat codes before playing a new game.
Ikr. It's like bring in a supercar for your first race.
I take it you didn't listen to a word he said in this video.
Don’t own a Tesla probably will never own a Tesla but if you modify it, you put the right things on it. It’s gonna be a kick ass vehicle but straight out the box. I don’t think it can do half the things that it says it can do😢
What?
@@Abebe345 that’s just my opinion from what I’ve seen from previous people that have owned the cyber truck like I said it’s nice out the box but maybe people are torturing it too much but range rust certain things breaking. It’s not tough as it says it is! this is all just from what I’ve seen in my little small opinion not saying that it’s all 100% true just what I seen all I’m saying I would never purchase one and speed 🤫🤫🤫
@@erickelly8704 that's fair. Everyone will have an opinion and impression. They don't advertise so they let 3rd parties dominate the story. I think it is Truck 2.0 changing design, rigidity, capability, technology on and off road. True the updates especially off road weren't there at start but I'd like to see where it comes short. It won't be to everyone looking for sure.
Yikes...lol...thanks for taking one for the team. Please, CT owners, watch a lot of videos on HOW to off-road before doing it in your $100k truck.
We all know we are waiting for Whistling Diesel Video 🌚
DIRTY Tesla... F**k Yeah!
take tires to 10 psi... enable locker mode... put in extract mode... remote mode flaps or generally trim them etc. Also grab so rock sliders for front and rear to bash instead of bumper work... Thanks for beating crap out of it for our entertainment!
Articulation is much better in "High", and still has decent ground clearance. Only go higher if you really need to.
Worst spotter ever. I'm sorry your truck had to go through that, all due to a bad spotter. You may be excited and pushing the truck, but pure negligence from the spotter led to a bad experience. Whether you're willing to admit it publicly.
