    Which is more important to wrap first: between the fingers, or above the fingers (at the knucles)?

    • @ForgedManIP
      @ForgedManIP  5 лет назад +1

      I like to wrap the knuckles first so it creates sort of like layers of padding on the knuckles. Going in between the fingers kind of serve as spacing between knuckles and to hold the padding on the knuckles in place. There's more than one way of wrapping. I'm just showing what works best for me. Thanks for the question.

    How would u compare this to the style where u make a pad for ur knuckles first?
    Considering my hand will be in 12oz gloves the whole time what method would u recommend. I certainly prefer this one it’s easier

    • @ForgedManIP
      @ForgedManIP  3 года назад +1

      Hey Neil. Having a pad for your knuckles is also great, if you have enough wrapping to go around.
      Personally I prefer this one because it feels way more snug, unless, like I said you have enough of the fabric to wrap with that allows you to create a pad for your knuckles AND wrap your hands equally.
      Master Thong, Coach K of CSA gym and many others uses padding on the knuckles when they wrap.
      I've seen my method however used here and there, but a prolific fighter I've seen that uses my method is Orono Wor Petchpun😊

    • @ForgedManIP
      @ForgedManIP  3 года назад

      There's no difference. Personal preference really, but I find that it feels more sturdy wrapping a larger finger first and moving towards the smallest, that's just me, if you look at orono wor petchpun, a golden Era fighter from the 80's, he wraps his hands just like the way I do it 🙂

      get better gloves that have a grip bar in them, or just wait til ur fingers toughen up

    • @ForgedManIP
      @ForgedManIP  6 лет назад +1

      What Nathan Hu said bro. Usually the gloves have a lot to do with how your fists are shaped when you hit the mitts or the heavy bag. I've found that most beginners use those everlast level 1 or 2 gloves that shape your fists unevenly so you end up actually punching with your phalanges instead of your metacarpals.
      So either your gloves are messing up your fingers or wrist; or your punching at a bad angle that puts stress on your wrists. lots of factors but those are the 2 most likely.

    • @marcellismadness2552
      @marcellismadness2552 6 лет назад

      Nathan Hu so the fingers actually go threw a "toughening up" phase? And eventually take impact better?

    • @nathanhu4325
      @nathanhu4325 6 лет назад

      yeah like everything u will get used to it but u want them well protected, im no expert but this should hopefully help you if not get em checked or something, also try to make sure when u punch u are making a solid fist, gloves with a grip bar will help with that

    Such a difference! Feels so much better compared to the way my sparring partner taught me. Feel more protected, looks and feels really good and I can actually hit the heavy bags and focus pads harder without fear of injuring my hand again. (Injured my left hand in a street fight with a cocky woman beater)
