I been looking for a video like this for years because no one explains it they all just tell you without teaching you how to do this method this video needs to blow up
Thank you. No lie that is the reason I made it. I been looking for how to do this for so long and one day this pro Anthony Young at my gym showed me. I had to share it.
You definitely deserve more views/subscribers. Great tutorial and production, very thorough. Nice Olympics hat by the way. Looking forward to more videos!
similar to what I do. When reused, I don't tape, I use the same wrap you used underneath. so its easily removed. its cheap, its a $1.25 at dollar tree. Nice video. Good visual and verbal instructions
Hey, Coach. Great tutorial. Really. I have a couple of questions. When you reuse the wrap, do you find you get the same support simply by applying a layer of gauze and tape around the wrist? And do you find the hand portion of the wrap gets looser each time you use it? I guess I'm wondering how good the support is once it's been cut, as it seems like the tension after it's been cut would come only from the newly applied thinner layer of gauze and tape. I get that the original wrap provides the stiffness of a fight wrap, maybe more, but does it lose some of the tension or grip of the original when reused? Obviously, it works for you, so I'm just wondering what, if any, difference you feel, and, given nearly daily use on the bag, pads, and sparring, how long before you have to do a new wrap. My other question is about the use of the pre-wrap under the tape. I know commissions vary, but, for a fight wrap, would this be considered stacking? Sorry. That was more than a couple. Thanks very much for your time. Again, great vid.
I apologize for the extremely late response and I will try to answer everything as best as I can. When you cut the wrap you do lose some of the tension and stiffness you got from the regular wrap, but if you tape it pretty tight around the wrist, depending on the quality of tape you used you can get back 80-90% of that stiffness back. From the wraps that I have made I have realized the hand compartment getting looser over time, but I have realized the padding wearing down over time depending on the size of the gloves I use. Generally a wrap like this can last for 6-10 weeks depending on how you take care of it. This wrap cannot be used in any fight and not because it would be considered wrapping, but because of the use of self-adhesive gauze. In some states stacking is legal and you can stack with pre-wrap a than tape than gauze and tape again. Soon I will be doing two new videos. One with a amatuer/pro fight wrap and the other an updated reusable training wrap.
Thank you. I'm still new to wrapping, but I didn't see a video like this out there when I looked for one to help so thought I would create one. Thank you again.
Man this is the closest I've ever seen to his I do it. Super clean. The little strips to close up the edges I'm gonna borrow that. I do reverse tape Inside usually but I'm gonna try the adhesive. That's a good idea. 👊
Thank you. I like the reverse tape better than the self-adhesive because it sticks to the gauze to much better. Im looking for a really small handwrap to use when I reuse them.
Great video and i will try some on my fighters, do have a question though, when you wear them again do you do anything to seal them back up for wrist protection? as Ive seen people put holes and then shoe laces in these to make them adjustable and so they do up.

You probably made it to tight. There were definitely a few things I missed in this video. *Tip - Make the wrap on someone hand that is just a little bigger then yours
About 2 weeks and about 4-6 tries. I had already been wrapping my hands with regulars hand wraps for years and started wrapping others' hands with gauze.
Right now I’m on about 3 weeks of using month and now it’s starting to get bad. Just have to make sure you take them out the bag and let them air out every night
@Kenyon Sessoms hey man, I once saw a trainer wrap a guys hands using short pieces of some kind of string or twine between the fingers. He would tape them to the back of the hand then pull them in between the fingers and tape them on the palm. What’s the deal with this? Do they use regular string?
I am not sure about that. For competition adding anything other then gauze or tape would be illegal. I've seen Freddie Roach do this with gauze where he ties a thin piece of gauze to the bar in the palm of the hand and rolled them into something like a string. It's used to keep the padding in place.
@@keysessoms I wish we could upload pics to reference. Google "Floyd Mayweather Jr. hands wrapped gauze" and look at what looks like a piece of butchers twine or sometimes a rubber band running between his fingers. It's weird.
Honestly it is more of a feel thing. My hands feel more protected with these then regular handwraps maybe because I tape them. Really though it probably isnt much of a difference.
This just trains weak knuckles and wrists. Just use bear hands and fuck up the heavy bag. You might shed some skin, but skin grows back, and when it grows back it grows baxk stronger.
you'd better be joking, bro, no smart guy would train in this way, crazy and low efficiency, you'll wait weeks for your knuckles to recover and it would probably led to TFCC damage, that will end your boxing life
I tried using cardboard to make padding for knuckles and it got stuck I need something more smooth to slip out the padding off the cardboard I will not recommend cardboard

Fair play to the well made video, the reality is that these wraps will only last for a few weeks

Great tutorial man, but just curious… What’s the best way to wash this kind of wrap?
You wouldnt wash this. You would toss it and make a new wrap.
Question for you bro, I’m from the US, what brand of gauze from here would you recommend if any?
Title Old Fashion gauze is one of my favorites. My favorite gauze though is Empire Pro Tapes gauze. Its really flexible so it can mold to the hand.
Any subsitute for the self adhesive gauze?
Yes you can do tape reverse side up which I think is a better way but can a little more difficult to do on your own.
Great video and i will try some on my fighters, do have a question though, when you wear them again do you do anything to seal them back up for wrist protection? as Ive seen people put holes and then shoe laces in these to make them adjustable and so they do up.
I usually just use a little bit of gauze to wrap the wrist than tape it or just tape. Ive seen someone use a really short wrap before to.
how many sessions does it usually take for u to have to make a new wrap
Would this wrap be appropriate for a pro/ammy competition?
Yes you can. The only thing that may have to change is the amount of gauze I used for the pad depending on how long your roll of gauze is.
Hey Coach, ever think about making these in some various sizes and selling them online, I'd buy some.
I’ve never thought about that. I think there are a few people that do it. Ima look into it.

Is there a big difference in comfort and protection between this pro wrap and fortress pro t1 hand wraps?

I used self-adhesive tape. I put the link for it in the description of the video. Though I think doing tape (sticky side up works better) just isn't as comfortable.
Can you post a link to the tyoe of pre wrap you used? Sorry if im asking a question thats allready been asked , abd thank you

How do you clean it?
You dont. You make a new one
Do you reuse the gauze ? If theres a shitload of tape on it how do you reuse it ?
that knuckle padding is as thick as my boxing glove
Dude, the self-adhesive tape you used, is that elastic?
two more questions, bro, is the tape you use has a texture of paper, or a texture of cloth
the gauze you use, can you buy it at drug store or at fight store?Cuz in my country i can't find one in drugstore like this, these ones looks good in quality
(sorry for my poor English if you found trouble understanding)

Two more questions did you buy 2.5 cm tape or 3.8 cm and how long can you reuse the gauze wraps?
2.5cm tape and I've used a wrap for 3 weeks up to over a month. I am trying a reusable wrap with just the self-adhesive gauze that may be more protective and can last longer.
When I try to put it on is very hard
You probably made it to tight. There were definitely a few things I missed in this video.

shout out to y'all dat wrap y'all own hands! dis shit is NOT easy 😂😂
Not easy at all. I still mess up from time to time and am changing the wrap constantly
Fact's I always tell my trainer to help me out 😭😭😭
How would you close up the wrist part when you reuse it?
I did a short on here showing it. If not here then its on my instagram. I use tape or a really short handwrap
Is this way allowed in amateur boxing
Na it not
How many uses can i get out of this
Ive used one for 8-10 weeks, but you have to leave them to dry every time. It also depends on how good you make it.
@@keysessoms my aim is to make it better than the coaches
How do you close it up when you reuse it for training?
the best thing is to use a short hand wrap or some gauze around the wrist and tape the gauze.
What brand is the tape snd where did you get it from
Empire Pro Tape. You can get it from their website.
W
How long did it take you to learn how to do this
About 2 weeks and about 4-6 tries. I had already been wrapping my hands with regulars hand wraps for years and started wrapping others' hands with gauze.

What kind of pre wrap was that ?
It was a self adhesive gauze, but I am working on a video right now that can possibly make the wrap slightly easier and it will last longer
This is the pro hand wrap?
This can be used for a pro fight, but this is my training wrap. I reuse this over and over.
hey this is a question I've been asking my self for a minute. do you need to wrap your hand with gauze even if your just doing the heavy bag?
Na not at all. I just prefer the feeling of the gauze and the protections I get from it. I could get similar protection from cotton wrap though.
Nice work. It is not easy to wrap your own hand
Thank you. It really isn't. I struggle through it. lol
LeRoy gauze wraps or empire gauze wraps?
I like empire because of the give and flexibility. It can really form to the hands. LeRoy is really great though.
