    I love learning new wrapping techniques, I personally use competitive wrapping for my son’s, and daughter even in the gym. Being that boxing is 90% mental I want them in fighting mentally as much as I can. They even wear their mouthpieces when they are on the mitts and bag.

    Great wrap. The way he twists and changes directions with gauze is cool.

    Came here after watching naoya inoue handwrapp video. Filipino fanboys complaining all over the internet. They said too much tape and also tapping before wrapping. This man teach understably in easy language. Thanks coach

    14:08 this method is very popular in the Dutch's kickboxing matches. What a surprise that this features on the wbc youtube channel.

    No tape directly on the skin first right? Gauze then tape. Thank you for this video.

    I know you can't use pre wrap for tje actual fights but, can you use pre wrap for sparring?

    I suspect the 2nd method is no longer allowed because it could make the hands harder and deadlier. But I'm not sure.

    Why do you twist the warp at the side of the hand?

    • @funkrates4778
      @funkrates4778 2 года назад +5

      He's doing that to make it tight and secure the pad from the sides as well, not just from the front of the hand. It makes sure the pad doesn't move from side to side. It's brilliant. Never seen anyone else do it like that before.

      This is a technique from Rodeo. It is indeed to secure the pad better and avoid it from shifting from the knuckles. I first saw that twist from my mentor in college and it was used by bull riders to secure their wrist/hand. I am a certified athletic trainer and have used the twisting technique anytime I have to secure any type of gel pad to the hand for example in a Football lineman. It works really well.
