    Would be great if you could do a wrap video POV style. I’m just getting into boxing and it’s been kind of hard learning how to hold the wraps, what fingers to use to hold the loop, how you wrapped around the knuckles, etc… for whatever reason the wraps are just very awkward for some of us. Really need a “how to wrap for dummies.”

    • @functiondisruption
      @functiondisruption 7 месяцев назад +7

      The use of intuition is a flawed solution. People who are very new to this have not yet developed the intuition used to tell what is right or wrong effectively, leading to overlooked mistakes and bad habits formed.
      We need to be taught the correct and effective method so we know what a good wrap looks and feels like. Proceeding with something new on your own is how bad habits are made, preventable injuries that do not teach us are inflicted, and time is spent unnecessarily trying to form an experience base, when you could have used that time developing skills that take a lot of practice instead of skills that can be taught.

    A video about all the necessary stretching before training independently would be great. I've injured myself a couple of times because I forgot to do 1 specific stretch that I didn't remember. It seemed insignificant at the time, but every stretch my coach made me do had a particular purpose.

      @@Lil_vara Stretching? A lot of very painful injuries are because your muscles and tendons are not prepared for the movement they make. It's not a big problem when you are young, but with time a proper warm up is really crucial to safe and (relatively) painless workout :) Trust me, i'm over 40 and had a few strained muscles in my life;) One of the worst was in my neck :D You then begin to realise how much you turn your head around all day, hehehehe.

But if you do a static stretch before a workout you are stretching and breaking muscles. So when you start working out your muscles won’t be ready to go from static to dynamic movements and thus lead to strains.

I only wrapped my right hand following the tutorial but I can feel the power. My hand feels more free and less constricted, feels more protected on my wrist. I can feel the hardness of the knuckles through the wraps more too. I can feel my fist is a tighter fist and absolutely more fitting to the form of my fist. This video changed my life.
    This method takes a little practice to get right and you'll have to adjust depending on the length of your wraps, but FML this is the best thing I've ever felt on my hands.
    Thank you soo much for this.

    I'm very impressed with your hand wrapping method. I've watched the entire video 3-4 times and rewound portions of it many times. Is there any way that you show a closeup of just your hands while doing the wrapping slowly? Although I haven't been able to do your method correctly, I have done the knuckle wrapping portion successfully and it has almost completely eliminated the discomfort I feel when I practice on the body bag. I just haven't been able to get finger and thumb wrapping portions correctly.

    Tony, this is literally what the Dr. ordered! I am ancient (60 in 1 month) and I use vibrating tools at work. My hands are always a bit swollen and they wake me up with numbness in the night. My wrists, particularly the right, being right-handed, is a weak point. I have incredible hand strength but no grip! I have a hard time wrapping anymore having lost a lot of fine motor skill and stopped, using gloves only. I always thought I was losing some protection, but fighting with the wraps when training time is limited. By the time I get situated I either have to cut some other important part of my routine or speed through everything. Your method can be used even with my fumbling fingers! Thanks again for the great inspiration.
