Mega Man 9, known in Japan as Rockman 9: Yabō no Fukkatsu!! (ロックマン9 野望の復活!!) is a video game made by Capcom and Inti Creates for the WiiWare download service, among others, in 2008. This game is notable in that despite being developed for modern consoles, it features 8-bit visuals and audio as a retro throwback to the NES entries of the series. It also features a plot twist early on in that Dr. Light's robots go on a rampage, with Dr. Wily not having any connection to the incident (or so he claims).
AngerFist (tasvideos.org/A...) and diggidoyo blaze through the game and defeat Dr. Wily once again in 30 minutes and 20.98 seconds (19:11 in-game time).

TASes must be done without a prior savegame unless it's specifically a new game plus run. That means achievements, sometimes unskippable cutscenes, etc wasting time.
it's already been as long since this came out as it was between Mega Man 1 and Mega Man X coming out, which in my youth felt like an eternity. Wow.

Big Boy definitely not. I got up thru that magma part by using the rush jet and rush coil. I completed the game several times before realizing that you can use C Shot on the magma.

Yes Andy, I specifically manipulated the RNG to make it rain! ^_^ Quite easy, just fire at various frames and eventually, it'll give you various drops. Our aim was to get big drops as possible.

I wonder if some sort of RNG manipulation was used here: a lot of the enemies drop items. During Casual/Normal Play, items are few and far between.
probably. Since TAS always does the same inputs in the same moments, then the RNG will always give the same results, as far as I know. If it were a human, it would be impossible, since we can't be frame perfect in every single movement like a TAS
I don't think this is the case. One of the biggest reasons why TASes have many rerecords is due to RNG. Even if you have the input sheet, you'd have to pray for the perfect RNG.

starting with DRN.067 means you must hit at least 66 times to defeat robot masters whereas starting with DRN.065 requires 77 hits. How is this faster than the known method.

I can get past the tornado man's level without getting hit; however I fuck up the perfect run against tornado man six times in a row now. let alone the fact the dotted you do on these perfect runs. not only do I worship you, you've earned a subscriber for life. :D do you have a video for Double Dragon 1? it's my new years resolution to beat it :/

So let's see RNG Drop manipulation, Damage boosting and frame-perfect shots at the bosses after the I-frames (Invincibility frames) go away after each hit. Good job.
I somehow didn't know concrete shot one shotted the dragon subboss in magma man level. I always used the tornado to two shot it. Unless its a precise shot which could be the case.
He's firing it myltiple times extremely quickly to kill it
This and MM10 are the only "8-bit" games you can't zip in
Technically you can "zip" with the concrete blocks, but there isn't too much of an advantage
I had no idea Concrete Shot could freeze those flame pillar things...
because of this game Megaman Zx3 was cancelled.

@@randomguyontheinternet7940 It can be done. I used to speed run this game a lot when it first came out. When you speed run mega man you're holding forward the entire time. So a backwards shot isn't really hard. You're just timing a shot by pressing two buttons instead of one.
Once you can play games like this without stopping everything just becomes patterns and timing. The only things that you can't really do in real time are things that abuse the programming of the game like double inputs or strings of fast frame perfect inputs. Even those are possible with a modified controller and luck.

1,u need to beat 5 stages to get rush jet. tornado stage is hard when u play as megaman without rush jet.
2, the cheese ball in jewel man stage u need hornet to bring them down early. So u do magma then hornet
