Always learned that when there is a tornado all the trucks line up together.when parking makes it harder to flip you over

When there's a tornado get away from it asap, it doesn't matter if you're parked together it'll still rip you up like a rag doll get away from it
@@westernstar9121 yes but, if you do not have time to leave your truck 80,000 pounds will not be easily moved and if your light you will be moved easily. Tornados are strong but it is the updraft that will get you. The best place is in a cellar but there is no cellar in a truck stop
Empty trucks are no match to tornados or high winds , but if loaded with 40K , you have chances for sure !

I was in the back end of a tornado on 20 in texas last year. I was loaded 46000 pounds. The wind was crazy!! I have been blessed or just plain lucky to have been ahead or behind storms like this. I pray for you guys who were caught up in this storm.
That's so sad😢. I'm on a Southwest fleet now and I DON'T miss dodging tornadoes. They scare the hell out of me.
I saw a tornado cross the road in front of me in 2006 when I was hauling a tank for the Army on I -90 West and it flipped 3 cars like cards in a breeze. Mother Nature doesn't play!
A driver in Marietta on 35 was killed very sad to say 😔
I have been to that Dollar Tree DC hundreds of times and spent many of nights in that truck stop, and I have also been through Sulphur thousands of times, videos are shocking.

Marietta is my hometown born and raised here 28 years now and I haven’t seen anything this destructive. My community unfortunately is out of power probably into tomorrow still. Aside from losing the Dollar Tree warehouse we also lost two of our local shopping stores. I’m grateful my family and community are okay for now.
I saw yall lost what the homeland a DG and something else I can't remember I live in lone Grove and was close to losing my house from what my wife told me I've been in Illinois during all this over the road
The nursing home was hit a bit and the emergency room were impacted. I normally park my semi at the dollar general but for some reason I decided to park at the yard that night Unfortunately my co worker parked his rig there
I haven't lived there in 3 years I still call it my second home

A few years ago, before I retired, I was pulling an empty trailer from Indianapolis to Chicago on a Sunday afternoon. There was no tornado, but the wind was so strong, I was fighting to keep the tires off of the shoulder of I-65 NB. I heard a report on the CB about a truck off the road ahead on the NB side. Drove past that spot. Heard of another truck off the road still yet ahead of me. Passed that location and decided to get off the road ahead at an intersection with 2 or 3 truckstops. Once I got parked, I called weekend dispatch and told them what was going on. I had plenty of time to get a 10 hour break and still get to my pickup appointment Monday.

I was in the one that hit tushka ok a decade ago.took the tracker, sill on the leash off my trailer, and beat the top of it, looked like a shotgun hit it. Flipped a bed bugger infront of me, and aluminum siding was everywhere. Been through a few, I grew up in Oklahoma, and have driven a truck for 27 years. I also watched the one hit Holly Co 15 maybe 20 years ago. Could see it from so far away. Prayers for all.

I received a pic via Messenger of one of our trailers on its side at the Marietta DGDC. Nothing but a flattened field of debris around that Bay & Bay trailer. Dispatch would only say, "We got him home".

Exactly that’s why I won’t go otr anymore I had several times with tornado incidents and they r no fun because there is no place to hide and all trucks r governed so you’ll never outrun One all you can do is pray and hope it doesn’t hit you

Update on that Bay & Bay trailer at the DG. That driver was parked over at the truck stop & was picked up & thrown, landing in the DG ditch. He's banged up but okay at home.
I only live about probably an hour from that town here in Oklahoma city and I can tell you it's bad here people need help and prayers 🙏🏽 for Oklahoma.
Wow. Thank God I missed that. It was windy driving through. I drove through there and thought what a beautiful part of the county. I saw people helping each other with flats. My two uncles lived there and were my role models growing up. I'll ask my company if I could go help in any way.
I live between Shawnee and Choctaw, a tornado was about 6 miles from my house

Friday, was in Galveston, TX and all that energy was coming off the gulf at 40-50mph. Drove to, and stopped in OKC as North OK was getting rain (Ponca City) Then as it got dark, line from the west moved east and the Tornado Sirens south went off for 5-10 minutes; a first for me. Was watching TV news and they showed radar of the one that touched down in Ardmore/Marietta and move up to Sulfur. Just rain in OKC, but one moved from Norman NE as well. Scary stuff.
I'm usually out in the Midwest area during tornado season. Thank God I wasn't this year

Man I was on 29 and 70 right where a few hit. Luckily I made it through but I definitely pulled over a couple times.

That was my home terminal a few months ago.
I live 7 miles away from that DG DC on OK 53. I live in Ardmore and this storm was wild. I drive for TDC out of Joplin and my truck suffered minor damage.
I heard it was a crazy night I used to drive for that DG I live in lone Grove and I was stressing all night because I was in Illinois during all of this and my wife was home alone luckily she made it out to her brothers by redline auto sports headed to Wilson and my kids was in Dickson which I heard got hit by a tornado luckily they to was able to get to a cellar I felt so helpless I wasn't there to protect my family but thankfull they was able to get to safety I hope we can rebuild soon just sucks because Sulphur as you know is an amazing historical town sad all the old buildings are now destroyed
We had over two dozen tornados on Saturday and some more on Sunday evening sulphur Oklahoma tornado was a EF 4 4death and over 200 injuries reported .
Eight days of hope is there with their food trailer feeding the victims of this.

Wow i missed getting hit by the tornado that hit in Nebraska the other day by just a few hrs.
I used to live in that town of sulfur I was 12 years old. Interesting trivia the town next to it Davis their school was underground Because that entire area is part of tornado alley
I was driving to Kansas city when almost this was going on had to pull over cause i was kinda scared
Im sure the aid centers, shelters, and such will be overflowing with a staggering amount of supplies, manpower, etc from all those countries, and the many who now call this country home, that once lived in those areas we've been trying to help over the years as a big thank you to the good ol U.S. of A.

Don't be surprised when insurance companies point to weather related issues (like this) as an excuse to raise rates even higher. It's disgusting and sad all at once.
They already do. Especially homeowners insurance in the southeast. They raise the rates every year, but no one does anything to stop new building. It’s such a scam. If the area is too dangerous to insure, maybe stop building there.

Of this of me being pulled over. Correction I wasn't pulled over.I was already stopped on the side of the road and the highway patrol said that I shouldn't run out of fuel.It's illegal for me to be on the side of the road broke down
I think we truck drivers are among the most vulnerable when there's tornados warning , where tf are we supposed to go? Living on the east coast I got to experience tornados warnings for the first time in my entire life while driving in the Midwest and PA, I had no f ing idea where I was supposed to "take shelter" as it was suggested by these unnerving cellphones alerts. Not fun.
I know. Every year they start talking about tornado safety but do you ever hear anyone mention truckers? I haven't.

Tornados happens every years in theses areas , usually in spring and fall because of the cold air from the north that meet the hot air from the south in area where there are no mountains or much trees
