      @PsycheTruth There are several ideas for using yoga reduce weight
      Find a reputable program locally or online and stick to it
      Do yoga with a friend so you have another person to help you
      (I learned these and the reasons they work on Yaras yoga tactics site )

    To all the people complaining and claiming this is not for actual beginners: What were you expecting? A nap? This is fairly easy, you are suppoused to feel the stretches, this is yoga. Is not Courtney's fault you are not used to it.

    • @anthoneyrago
      @anthoneyrago 7 лет назад +5

      Nani TG with any exercise it's always difficult the first two weeks. I agree with you. It doesn't really matter what you're doing either cardio kickboxing, spin class, aerobics, Pilates, you have to keep trying and work through the first two weeks to get used to any exercise. It takes time to learn new types of workouts. I'm going to try this starting tomorrow I'll come back and comment each day letting you know how I feel about it for the next 2 weeks. If I get through the two weeks of this video I'll go to the 2ond one in the series and then switch again to the third in two more weeks.

    • @saanu10
      @saanu10 4 года назад

      lol! a nap! lol! too funny. it was challenging for a beginner, but I expect to be challenged a bit. I am unfit after all.

    I'm a 265 pound male, with some spinal issues and absolutely no flexibility, this was my first ever attempt at yoga, and I'm proud of what I was able to do. I always put yoga off because I figure you needed to already be flexible, but now that I've done it, i realize I was lossening up through the the poses, thank you for starting me on this journey :)

    • @sotnos1125
      @sotnos1125 6 лет назад +3

      I know you said this a yeat ago but hopefully you'll still see this. Thank you so much for not whining about it! I'm not heavy, but I'm Very unfit and as far from flexible as you could be and I found each pose to be challenging but not 'completely unbearable to the point where I had to give up' like so many people are saying. And in only 2 days I noticed a very obvious difference in how long I could hold each pose and how far I could bend/stretch. The whole point is that there should be a challenge in it so that your body is using energy and developing muscle! It's truly sad to see so many people shame the video or the teacher herself because they think it's too hard :(

    I did this yesterday and I was getting frustrated cause I couldn't finish or hold the poses as long as her. I am a beginner and I'm overweight, but after watching my weight dropped 2 pounds overnight I had to give a try to day 2 today. So I did and I feel amazing. I finished it and I hope it will continue working. Don't quit, do what you can. Don't expect to be as flexible as her who I'm sure has been doing this for a long time. Good luck.

      I got frustrated and yelled at her because she is only 100 pounds and CAN hold her weight! Lol......I think I’ll try another instructor.....Good luck to you and keep losing the weight! You’ll get stronger! ❤️🇨🇦

Thanks for the tutorial but I think the beginning part is too much of talking. It'd be better if it's more on what to do cuz I'm depending on listening your instructions while eyes closed.

    • @staceykersting461
      @staceykersting461 8 лет назад +23

      Resistance increases tension, which increases the pain. Just let any pain move thru you. Relax and exhale it out. Also, don;t hurt yourself, just do as much as makes you comfortable. My right leg won;t come close to straightening, but I do the poses anyway. I can;t slt on the floor comfortably so i use a couch cushion. i'm on mt 7th day now, and I've seen a lot of progress, already! SO...keep up the good work, Take care and treat yourself gently/ Plz don't quit. We can all bolster each other up and keep going. PEACE, LOVE and LIGHT!

    Hey, this is my very first time I have done yoga. Since months I am trying to loose weight, I did all kinds of workouts and weight lifting at the gym. I didn't really do anything for me except for muscle pain and feeling weak. So I was looking for a light workout that you could do like every day that tone the body and maybe is good for the mind. So now since only a few weeks I am eating different and I feel a little change. NOW after going by these yoga videos ( yoga for beginners day 1-3) I am feeling a BIG change. I feel strong, toned, even my skin feels different, I feel my muscles in places exactly where I want to tone and loose weight/fat. I am definitely a fan of yoga now and it probably is just the right workout for me and I don't want to live without it anymore! I think everybody has to find their right type of workout or what's good for them. For some people this may work, for some that may work. If you're looking for yoga videos, DO THIS !

    my first yoga attempt was with this video yesterday. and i repeated a session today. its true im like a wooden panel-so unflexible. but like somebody mention before just ease it a bit if you are struggling. and comments do help. coz i close my eyes and relax and just listen to the voice. so im glad i ve picked this video. i do feel tight and kind of lighter after this. so im 100% happy

      Congrats! Yes, this is for beginners. Keep in mind that people come to yoga from many different states of health, so Beginners is a general term and everyone will relate to the practice in their own way. Your resistance to flexibility is part of the process in the beginning and over time you will advance into states of feeling more energized through the coordination of your strength WITH flexibility. Keep practicing my friend!

      ***** Hi Courtney, I've done yoga before but have been out of it for quite awhile overseas. Trying to return. I've bot some tendinitis in my right arm and supraspinatus now and just about everything from my wrist to my throat and around the back hurts with this. I noticed that I got really nauseous at the end on the roll onto your side and sit up part (? tells me how weak that whole side of my body and muscles are (not to mention out of alignment) Helps?

    • @stygeanhue
      @stygeanhue 9 лет назад +2

      I feel the same way, just from observing, it seems like, regardless of body type, some of these poses seem a bit trying for some one just starting out. I have very dad lower back pain, and keeping my lower back "grounded" is not something even fathomable for me right now, but some of this stuff seems so complicated, I'm not sure I want to even try it.

    • @markandjeninminn
      @markandjeninminn 9 лет назад +1

      Stygean Hugh I thought it was really complicated at first too, but it's because Courtney does a good job of explaining what your muscles need to be doing. If somebody just does the exercises based on what it looks like then you aren't working the specific muscles. The first day I just watched the video. Days 2 and 3 I did the exercises, focusing on technique. Day 4 I could really focus on relaxing and working the core and not worry about technique so much. BTW - My husband has bad lower back pain (compressed discs) so he tried this workout with me. He has trouble with some poses and when his back starts tightening up he stretches it.

      I agree. At the very least she could offer some alternative poses for those of us who do not yet have the strength to hold each pose. For me the part where she lifts her hips up with her legs up in the air was difficult as I have back problems and thus weak muscles there. It would be nice to see what alternate or modified pose I could do instead, but I had to just sit there as I could not do the pose.

I find myself constantly wanting to drink more and more. Since I started drinking it daily I've lost inch after inch off of my waist. I have more energy in my day to day life and I just overall feel better. I highly recommend giving this a try .

      SAM tj you do have s point there Sam, but in this day and age people tend to get bored quickly, less talk more action , will keep them interested !

    • @vivianetiercy5691
      @vivianetiercy5691 9 лет назад +5

      I agree with SAM, yoga is slow because you have to pay attention to your body, your sensations and especially to doing the exercises right. That's why there is a lot of explanations, otherwise you might do yourself more harm than good. once you know the explanations, you can mute and just follow the pace of the exercises and focus on your positions. If you need more action, take aerobics, not yoga...

      We are designing these videos so that poses at the beginning of the video are easier than the poses at the end. You should be able to follow along and get as far as you can comfortably. If you repeat the workout you should be able to get a little farther each time until you eventually master the entire workout.

I have spinal issues, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue & neuropathy and over 50. Your pace with each movement gave me time to get into the pose and modify. Keep practicing! I'\'m 63 and I'm doin' it! If you can't do it as long as she does, do as long as you can. Sometimes I'm 10 seconds short on that downward dog or on the plank one. Sometimes I do beginners yoga for back pain, instead! Lots of good beginners yoga...switch it Up! Love, light, and laughter! Keep up the good work!

    I was reading the comments so i was nervous going into it, but i have to say that this video had the the perfect amount of challenge and ease! I've never done yoga before and i don't work out regularly (at most its probably 2 times a month) and this video gave me a pretty good workout! Obviously if you want to lose weight and become more flexible its going to be a challenge so even if something is "beginner" don't expect it to be without some challenge! I thought this lesson pushed me enough to feel a good burn in my legs and there were times in the video that let me relax too! I can't wait to watch the next video!

    I stopped half way through. She talks entirely too much which made it difficult for me to clear my mind and recieve the benifits of yoga. It didnt feel like a smooth flow. I'm sure the routine may have done what it was intended for but there was too much time waiting while she was talking.

    • @blahblah3055
      @blahblah3055 7 лет назад +10

      bpjog25 I actually prefer the talking through the video I've watched other trainers that don't talk or provide instruction throughout and as a beginner it makes it difficult for me having to have my eyes glued the television set through the entire workout rather than allowing the instructor to talk me through it which allows me to focus better on my own posture and form. but that's just my own personal preference. not saying that it's right or wrong either way.
      now if I could only commit to doing this every day then I probably wouldn't need the talking through the video all of the time LOL.

    • @bpjog25
      @bpjog25 7 лет назад +2

      Blah Blah I respect your opinion. This comment was left two years ago so I honestly didn't even remember watching the video at first lol. 2 years ago I'd just started doing yoga as well and it just helped me clear my mind when I could see the pose and then be in the pose quietly for a moment to better focus on how my body was feeling. Neither is the wrong way. I hope you reach your goal to doing this everyday. It's great for the mind and body!

    The instructor in the video talks way to much and it feels as if the person working out just has to sit and wait around. She needs to talk while working out. I wouldn't use this video again because it is way too slow and I feel that she is not efficient at working out.

  • @meishamariepaul3518
    @meishamariepaul3518 9 лет назад +6

    For all those who claim she talks too much, maybe you're too self-centered to listen to anyone else's guidance and advice; taking the time to nit-pick on something that might be helpful for someone else just points to the lack of peace in your own life.
