Normal sonamasuri brown rice = 70 to 75 rs Dawat brown rice = 150 to 160 rs. Which means it cost more then double. Cooking time might be 10 mins lesser. Even if you save the cost of 10 mins cooking also, The price will 75% more then normal brown rice... Everything here is marketing with a brand name and a celebrity cook... :p

Brown rice has no real advantage over white rice. The extra fibre is negligible (2.5 gm in brown vs 2.3 gm in white rice) . Glycemic index is still high when compared to beans. And the extra nutrients are just on paper. Japanese eat white rice and live long
I eat brown rice almost most nights of the week for dinner. Daawat or Tilda brands. They are alright, nothing extraordinary in terms of taste or flavour. But then plain cooked brown rice is normally bland anyway. I never knew of any kind of brown rice that took about an hour to cook. 🙄...So, while Daawat brown basmati does take only 15 minutes to cook, my white basmati takes only 10 minutes. And ‘quick cooking’ isn’t necessarily a great thing. Think of the quick cooking oats that are usually rubbish. No mention here of the well-known arsenic content of brown rice. It might not be a reason to avoid brown rice but at least facts ought to be honestly stated. It’s pretty obvious that Sanjeev is paid to promote this product. So, do your own research about these things before blindly following a chef’s words on a RUclips channel.
