Learned to peel apples, and potatoes, like this from both of my grandmothers. There were no fancy safety peelers around 50 years ago. You learnt the hard way to peel thinly or ended up cutting your finger tips.

It needs Custard :) We call this Apple Crumble in the UK, it's always served with Custard and it's a must have dessert for everyone. Rhubarb is on the love level with apple, I can't choose which I prefer.
Good work young lady, you will be creating your own recipies when you have more experience *wink* try it with Rhubarb, it's a weird combo.

Why not peel them with a veggie cutter toss into the lemon water then cut into slices or chunks. Loved meeting 1/2 pint she is a full pint of wonderful!
