  • This recipe is for the worst of the worst hands! The key is to rub, rub, rub consistently, especially around the areas that are the worst!
    Recipe-
    1/3 cup Castor oil
    1/3 cup Coconut oil
    1/2-1 cup Shea butter
Essential oil of your choice( I use Teatree oil and frankincense)
    Directions -
Place oils in a pint jar and melt in a double boiler. Once all of the oils are melted, take out and allowed to cool! Keep in mind that the lotion will not get thick unless cooled enough. Mix very well with an immersion blender. Poor Jars.

Comfrey, plantain, dandelion are all excellent for your hands..last week fir the first time I made my own lotion bars using calendula oil from the flowers I grew what amazing results so just throwing that out there as other options that are more natural.

    • @lwest5686
      @lwest5686 2 месяца назад +3

I second that - comfrey is the ultimate healer. It's very easy to grow too. Put very dry herbs to 'marinate' in your choice of oil (I like almond oil). Not sure if castor oil would pick up enough but castor oil is a fantastic .moisturizer. I let the herbs sit in oil a couple months at least then strain.

What a great recipe! I’m going to add my favorite healing essential oils…calendula and helichrysum! I also like adding beeswax if it’s wintertime to create that cold weather barrier.

Ooh perfect timing! My hands are so dry from working in the greenhouse and using compost as gloves make my hands sweat and end up even more dry! There are quite a few products that I've tried, the udder cream is OK, but it is nice to make something yourself and that works. My dad used to have cracked thumbs so I know how painful yours must be. Thank you so much.

nice to see some cosmetic making here :-) If you allow me, a little trick to help making a «less greasy feeling» : add about 3 to 4% (in weight) of corn starch. Just pay attention to incorpore the starch at the end while the mix is under 80°C or it will cook and get siliconegluelike floating here and there :-) Use the stickblender and sift the corn starch litlle by little, I suggest also to incorpore your essential oils at the end as well to keep them away from too much heat to preserve their wholeness. Thanks for everything ! I've learned so much on your channel ❤💯

Okay so I worked in nursing where I washed my hands so much. i used to get cracks around my nail beds. So there is medical paper tape and corn huskers lotion. At night I would take a piece of tape going over my finger the long way and then wrap it around my fingers. This keepsake skin soft and moist so it can heal. Oil-based creams do not work well it takes too long to soften those splits because the skin is dry and hard. I use this trick for 20 years. I remember how sore my hands were before I learned this trick. I have also used Epsom salts to soak them. This was very soothing as they were red and inflamed.😅

I am dealing with the cracks in the corner of my thumbs right now and it is very painful. I get them from working outside in the garden and around the farm. I also have problems with my deeply cracked heels. Coconut oil and castor oil are good but I have never combined them to make a salve. This looks lovely.

I was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis about 3yrs ago. The psoriasis outbreaks are isolated to my palms of both hands + plantar surfaces(bottoms)of both feet. Needless to say, cracked, itchy skin in these areas can be painful and annoying- especially when having alpacas, chickens and a garden to tend to. But enough "woe is me"....I was intrigued when watching this video. I have collected about 15 different products - none of which totally work on the psoriasis. Sooooo, I was excited to try this "recipe". IT WORKS!!! I used tea tree and vanilla essential oils, and followed your instructions. It feels sooooo good on my hands when kept in fridge. When I told my daughters about this....they both put in their requests! ❤THANK YOU SO MUCH, been loving your channel for over a year. You had me with your Amish canning methods.....Bless you😇

I’ve been making and using my own face cream for about 10 years now and use a blend of of liquid and solid oils. I like to use a light base with joboba , raspberry seed oil and pomegranate seed oil. All very moisturizing but doesn’t leave a greasy film on your skin. A key component that really seems to hold in moisture is melted beeswax with all the added oils to it. The beauty of it is how customizable it is. Different oils have different properties depending on what your looking for. I like my homemade cream waay better than store bought ones because it leaves my skin feeling moisturized for a lot longer.

LEILANIE I HOPE I SPELL YOUR NAME RIGHT EVEN THOUGH I KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO SAY IT. I HAVE A QUESTION. Does the Shai butter smell like cocoa or like chocolate like it does when it's mixed into different products on store shelves? I found every product containing che butter has that smell and honestly that smell I don't love at all. I honestly love the smell of coconut and all the other scents you mentioned. But I cannot handle the smell of something that later starts to smell like cake on my body. If it does, is there another product similar to shei butter I can use in place of that? I wouldn't mind just using plain old cold pressed unrefined Coconut oil, melt that down and add some addition drops of essential oils for sure, and then let it come back to its solid form. I use predominantly coconut oil anyway for my skin every single day after a shower because I have severely dry skin. I was going to try this and thought first I need to know if your Shai butter is unscented with no after scent of cake of chocolate. If so im all in!!! 😊😊😊

Consider Organic Hemp Oil. It's a Sign of low Omega3 Oil, to have rashes, Splits, excema, psoriasis, age spots, liver spots, etc..
I have this problem. I tried all of the Deficiencies that lead to this, to not avail. I had one Deficiency left, Omega3. Then my body Crashed, Liver and Hormones and Organs in distress. Another Sign of long standing Deficiency.
Castor Oil Draws Out. I have been.using it yo Draw out Gangrene in my leg bone. It WORKS!! The dissolved bone exited threw my skin. So I no longer am using Castor, because my leg bone was removed by it, in a half inch deep by 4 inch length.
For skin healing and anti Immune Attacks such as Weeping Excema, I have switched to: Hemp, Apricot Kernel Oil, Calendula Oil, Beef Tallow and beeswax.
It seems to be healing super fast!
Considering I have been fighting TO Save my leg, for 3 full YEARS?
To have this Change in only 2 Applications, IS Amazing!!
Beef Tallow and Help are both for Omega3.
