I would try adding the pasta uncooked in the jar prior to the other cooked ingredients, let the noodles cook in the canning process. I made it without the noodles first and will cook them separately but I plan on trying it with the uncooked noodles next.

My success with canning chicken noodle soup has been with adding UNCOOKED pasta to my jars, along with RAW veggies, add shredded cooked chicken and then topping off with the broth. I also use brown rice gluten free spaghetti noodles...so far, it's been a great success! (and thats with pressure canning, so I have high hopes for WB canning!!) hugs!!!!

I canned a bunch of pickles and in my life have never tasted a bad cucumber. I had a couple bitter cucumbers this last time around. There's a process to do quite easy to get the bitterness out. YT has the solution which is easy and I'll do that with every cucumber I use now. The soup looked delicious and I'm going to make some without pasta. If it weren't for your channel I don't think I would have ever canned. You taught me how to can meat, everything and I thank you for that. It's become a loved addiction for me.

After seeing this video, I felt encouraged to can a batch of chicken soup for quick lunches, as we don't enjoy the bought canned soups.
What I did for Chicken Noodle soup was: add 1 cup mixed veggies (carrot, celery, onion) to each quart jar, 1 1/4 cup cooked diced chicken, 1/4 cup raw medium egg noodles, and then fill the jars with homemade seasoned chicken broth. In several quart jars I added 2 Tablespoons of raw rice instead of noodles. Then I pressure canned it for 90 minutes.
We like the taste of both soups, and the ratios seem good, but the noodles expanded a lot and did end up mushy. The rice expanded a lot more than I expected, and got soft but it stayed intact. Next time I'll try raw orzo instead of noodles, but I'll make the Chicken Rice soup the same way again.
Thank you for making your videos!

I just saw another noodle soup video with a PC, she said the secret was small noodles. They can only absorb so much liquid, in theory anyway. So like a vermicelli, broken into 1" pieces, and don't cook it before you can it. I think I'm going to try that :)

Add more broth when you open the jar, if needed.
Remember that many things change the longer they sit on the self. I made Beanie Weenies last year. They were not so tasty when I opened a jar a week after canning. I opened a can a few weeks ago and they were great. They just needed time for the magic to happen.

I use more broth in my soups. I put in about 1/2 to 2/3 cup of raw pasta in each quart jar with the soup solids(chicken, onions, celery, etc.) to equal 1/2 the jar , with the other half being broth. Do not have more than 1/2 of the jar being the solids. You need the broth for the noodles. Precooked noodles will be mushy.

Just add noodles to jar sparingly because they will still absorb a little bit of the chicken stock.

I have seen others before fill the jar up to the half way point of their ingredients (chicken, vegetables) and then the remaining with broth. So instead of making it in one pot on the stove first it actually cooks in the jar itself once in the canner... Maybe try that. I think you will get a better soup consistency. I would add the noodles UNCOOKED to the jars also before canning and see what the outcome is.

If you toast the pasta in oil until it's lightly browned it stabilizes the proteins and they are more resistant to getting waterlogged. I've never canned pasta but I use this method when I know I'm going to be freezing and reheating it in soup. Use a thicker pasta that you can toast evenly, e.g.linguine, elbows, bowtie, penne. Use enough oil to toast evenly and drain if necessary. Add to the jars uncooked but be sure to double up on the broth. They're gonna soak it up.

I love the idea of adding the pasta raw just before canning. But what about making your own pasta and making it thicker. It would be more like bumping but if you let it dry out and add it just before canning it, that might work.

❤ to continue like I said he didn’t come with instructions. I didn’t wanna make it so long in one little box. So I used it for the first time since I bought it I unboxed it yesterday mind you or no no the day before yesterday and I used it, and I kept it at boil and it grew up a lot of water. It did a lot of hot water boiling water. But everything came out good only it splattered water all over the place and it one. It was lifting the lid. Today, 26 January I use it I’m using it I put pinto beans two water bath because they came out pretty good the day before yesterday in my regular canning yesterday as a matter fact, but I used my regular water bath canners. Again, I’m gonna stop here and

Thank you for making chicken soup. I think if you canned it without noodles and lots of broth, you could just add the noodles later. Or you could add rice or any other grain.
I had some coupons for half price frozen vegetables. I want to make chicken vegetable soup. I think I'll try making it without the pasta or grains.
Thank you so much for all you do for us.❤

How about using thicker noodles. You can easily make Amish noodles and roll them out as thick or thin as you please. Perhaps that will work.
I love your honesty and thank you for all the testing you do to help me make better canned foods for my pantry. I am 85 years young and love to can. I have been canning for a very long time and am still learning.

I cook soups a lot I have never canned, I have been watching canning tutorials over the last few weeks (many hours) and I am ready to try my hand at it. However I do freeze soups for long periods, I know that spaghetti stays dense loner than the eggs noodles. Another noodle that may hold up is the small traditional fine noodle and immediately take off the heat before filling jars. Oh and thank you for sharing your experiences and your canning journey I have learned a lot watching you.

Try putting the noodles in dry, and layer the sautéed veggies, the chicken to half way. Topping off with the broth. Then process. I think it will come out better.

Absolutely test it with the noodles not cook , I think it would amazing , they would cook in the water canning or pressure cooker , either way they would cook , the thing is how much raw noodles to put into each jar , I love all your videos , especially about the Amish canning, ❤️

Perhaps if you tried a thicker noodle, like thick spaghetti broken into smaller pieces. Or even bucatini which is super thick. I’d add the barely cooked noodles to the jar, add the chicken and veg to the halfway point and then fill it with broth. That would be my next try if I were you. No matter what you try, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your future success! 🤞

When I have a small batch to water bath can, I put empty jars filled with water inside the canner so the other jars don't fall over. Hope that helps.😊

I was thinking,... you got me inspired to try an experiment. I'm going to use a couple pint jars and make your broth base. But I'm going to cut my cooked chicken into pieces and use them to layer into the bottom of the pint jars and in between the uncooked egg noodles until the pint jars only reach less than half full. Then I'm going to pour your broth base over top, debubble, seal and process your water bath method and see what happens.

I know you’re going to try it without cooking the pasta & that’s a great idea! If that doesn’t work for you as so far as the texture goes, what about canning the chicken soup without the noodles and adding the noodles when you’re going to eat it. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing a great job! God blessed me with you! You were an answer to my prayers! I don’t have a pressure cooker and was wondering if I could water bath meat. I prayed about it when I was going to bed. The next day I saw you on RUclips. I am blessed to walk the journey of learning to water bath with you! You’re such a blessing! Pay no attention to the negative comments. Pray for them because God let them cross your path for a reason. So pray that they will learn to think outside the box and learn from your videos 🙏🏼

I have a ton of keto noodles that I ordered last year from Amazon they're not made like the egg noodles in the spaghetti noodles they don't have that flower consistency I was thinking of trying them in the chicken noodle soup because the longer they're cooked the better they taste thank you for giving me that idea from watching this video I have learned a lot from you and your videos

I can chicken noodle soup one time and I did the noodles uncooked. I however, didn’t WB it long enough so the seal didn’t stay. However, I remember the noodles retaining their shape.
