    On the topic of Mrs. Weasley’s gifts at 32:28, it reminded me of something really heartwarming from Harry’s 17th birthday. She gave Harry her brother Fabian’s watch, something clearly special and sentimental, whereas she gave Ron a new one all his own for his 17th birthday. I’m not the first to say this nor will I be the last, but it really shows how good of a mother Molly is because she knew what each of them needed and would mean more to them; Ron, the boy who always got hand-me-downs, gets something that was entirely his own, and Harry, the boy orphan with no family keepsakes, gets something of a family heirloom. Molly may not have been a perfect person or mother, and she made mistakes at times, but dammit if she didn’t know and love all 8 of her children.

It might be because they introduced us to much of the wizarding world, but also buildings/scenery/special effects looked so much more real than the later films. I know it's not until Chamber of Secrets, but Dobby looked real/believable to me whereas in the later films he looked blurry and subdued. Thanks so much. Creating all the magical things to fill a whole world can't have been easy. I can appreciate it for sure, however I would have rather had some of the more important details included over the lesser ones. Winky, Ludo Bagman, Quidditch World Cup, Blast ended Skrewts, nifflers, Tri-Wizard maze event obstacles etc. I feel with the popularity of the series they could have made longer movies like LotRs and included these things.

    The "Scary Hagrid" is a man named Martin Bayfield. He is a HUGE man (rugby player) who was Hagrid's double in scenes where Hagrid needed to look really tall. Even Bayfield had to wear a suit that made him wider and he walked on stilts. The reason Hagrid looks so scary is because it's a Hagrid-Mask that Bayfield had to wear in wide angle shots to look more like Robby Coltrane.

    Just a little note about Queen consort Anne boleyn is that she wasn't actually a witch but was accused of being one because she had a sixth finger on each hand. She was executed because her husband King Henry thought she was having an affair and so he accused her of it and executed her. So it's a cool little detail because she was thought to be a witch but never actually was

    • @Otterwriter245
      @Otterwriter245 Год назад +11

      Yeah, I agree with you that it’s a cool detail. However, she actually didn’t have a sixth finger on each hand. It was a common misconception, and the king would never have married someone with that abnormality because (like you said) it was a sign of witchcraft back then.

    • @sbh2888
      @sbh2888 Год назад +2

      Also, I believe the affair was made up as well. The king accused her of it because he wanted to marry Jane Seymour and Anne had failed to give him a son. No divorce allowed, so this is how he got rid of her-accusing her of bewitching him, followed by incest and infidelity (which they tortured men to admit to) and trying to harm the King. Since she spent a lot of her time pregnant and miscarrying, not to mention knowing what would happen if she did commit adultery, historians believe it was all lies and she was innocent, which she claimed until the end. Henry finally got his son, but he died young and it is Anne’s daughter, Elizabeth I who ended up ruling for 40 years and is known as the greatest Tudor monarch, and is one of the most famous Queens in history.

Obviously Robbie Coltrane isnt as giant as Hagrid, which is fine when they do his close up shots, but when Hagrid is facing camera in that type of shot, they couldnt have Robbie Coltrane as we'd know he was too short, so they had to use this weird looking animatronic head that sat on top of the head of the person playing him in that shot to give the impression hes that tall. There are actually a bunch more shots where we see it and once you notice it it's hilariously distracting haha

    One of the biggest reasons I love Morgan’s videos is because of how he’s so adamant about giving information from the source material. I’ve read all the books countless times and I don’t particularly like watching past the 3rd movie because it just feels too different and too modern. I know you obviously can’t fit everything from books into movies but there’s still so many differences that it seriously does feel like another universe.
    Harry Potter is one of those stories where you really can’t call yourself a true fan if you haven’t read the books because there’s just so much information not put into the movies and so many changes. And it’s so frustrating seeing people who have never read the books, rudely tell people they’re wrong about something when they’ve accurately talked about something from the source material. A few years ago my friend was getting mad at me when we were hanging out with friends and I was talking about it taking place in the 90s and she was telling me I’m wrong. Because of the movies, she thought the series took place in the 2000s and she was actually getting mad at me about it lol I told her to google it and then she was quiet. I would tell her she needs to read the books but she refused yet still acted like she knew everything about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Seamus uses a full incantation spell in the Great Hall in the film version of Philosopher's Stone ("Eye of rabbit, harp string hum, turn this water into rum.") Considering he was seemingly reading it from a book at the time, it's possible that at least in the film universe, there might be spells like that. Now, granted, the water blew up in his face, but Ron did mention that he managed to make a weak tea the day before, and Seamus in the films can seemingly blow anything up, whether using a proper spell or otherwise (see him blowing up Harry and his feather in Charms while practicing Wingardium Leviosa). The reason Ron's spell failed could possibly have more to do with the fact that Pettigrew wasn't a rat.

      He cleared his throat.
      “Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow.”
      He waved his wand, but nothing happened. Scabbers stayed gray and fast asleep.
      “Are you sure that’s a real spell?” said the girl. “Well, it’s not very good, is it? I’ve tried a few
      simple spells just for practice and it’s all worked for me. Nobody in my family’s magic at all, it
      was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it’s

    Very nice video, but I have to mention that there is a German series by Coldmirror called "5 Minuten Harry Potter" where she splits the movie into five minute pieces and goes through it frame by frame, each video is roughly an hour long. So it's pretty detailed. Well veeeery detailed. So detailed in fact she shows background toys, looks through old post cards to verify if a specific path was already tarred at a specific point in history, translates Latin and comments on funny things like the "Soup soup soup" in the Leaky Cauldron.
    It is wild!

    There’s a deleted scene right before Harry gets the mail, in which they take pictures of Dudley for Smeltings, Petunia tells Harry what his robes would be, and Harry commenting that it was Dudley’s previous robes, and that it would fit on him like an elephant.

    Maybe Dumbledore could have "appeared suddenly & silently" because he was being invisible, not appariting because we KNOW he CAN be invisible WITHOUT an invisibility cloak . . . Just a thought . . . 🤔 And Puddlemere United is Dumbledore's favorite team; it says in the book Quidditch Through The Ages (I think 😉)!! Also, the hair potion thing is funny (& ironic) (@ least to me), considering BOTH Harry & James had messy hair!! 😅 That part about the staircases to the dorms WAS literally SAID in this movie by Percy earlier, too!! 😂 Also, in the books Ravenclaw's colors are BLUE & BROZE, not blue & sliver!! And I also think that Dumbledore let the wolf pups live there as way to dissuade students from entering the forest in the 1st place (not that it really works 😅). 😉 And that last scene is when Chris Columbus realized that Daniel Radcliffe would be a "great actor" one day. 😊

    I guess in a way that could be a compliment to the stunt double since he did a good job of not making it obvious that he was a double, Ron's double was more noticeable due to the lighting in that particular scene.
