When Snape ends Harry's lessons, we don't realize the full significance until his memories after his death. He was afraid of Harry seeing his true purpose and that he was truly working against Voldemort and that he loved his mother, so he couldn't take that chance.
In the book Snape put a couple of his memorys into the pensinium just in case Harry would breach through his defences and put them in later. So there was no risk Harry would find out about it by accident. Harry only found out because he was curious and went into the pensinium. To be more sure that dosn't happen again he could have locked that memory away in one of the viols we see in the 6th movie.. Since Harry was invading his privacy which is a major thing I understand his pain and anger in that case. Imaging the son of the guy you hate, who you can't stand poking around in your worst memories.
A friendly reminder that Ginny may have killed a Death Eater with the Reducto curse. Also according to a comment I read somewhere, Umbridge’s actress almost got sick during the scene of Harry’s detention. And some of her lines are good. You know what they say: If you hate a character deeply, that means their actor nailed it.
Ginny using Reducto to kill a Death Eater sounds amazing, as this same spell is theorized to be used lethally by Mrs Weasley against Bellatrix Lestrange
I have always found that remarkable/ unbelievable that ginny could have killed a death eater, but when we look at the power of the curse, it is possible
I think it is possible that Harry was in too much shock after Cedric's death that he just didn't notice the thestrals on his way home after 4th year, but in 5th year he wasn't so preoccupied
Also it IS true that it can take a while to process the death of some one. When my little brother died I cried right away but at the same time I felt sort of numb and frozen inside. Sometimes I did cry about him turing the months that followed but his death really hit me about two years later when I would dream beeing united with him again only to wake up to a world without him night after night. It really took me that long to feel with my entiry beeing that he was gone and not coming back almost loosing my mind about it. It was a little bit similar when my mother died ten years ago. In her case it felt as if a stranger had died in the hosbital and my mother had somehow vanished, also because back at home everything was the same as in the moment she left. It also fits to the 5 stages of grieving. The first is denial. So when JKR says he didn't process the death yet it could mean he had to leave the stage of denial behind him to see the Thestrals and we notice throught the 5th book/ movie Harry is now in a lot of anger which is another stage of grieving (Don't know wich one). Also let's not forget that Harry had to process the shock of Voldemort's return and beeing tortured on top of Cedric death. That Harry saw Cedric's ghostly form because of the Priory Incantatem-magic may also have delayed the processing of his death.
I always saw the Death Eater outfits from Goblet as the old uniforms from the first war. Kinda like how Voldemort got a new body, his followers got new uniforms.

Easter egg you missed : When Luna first mentions nargles, Ron asks: ''What's a nargle?'' ans Hermione responds: ''No idea.'' This exchange is the exact same when Cho asks Harry: ''What's a nargle'' right before they kiss under the mistletoe.
I love the half blood prince part when Snape says "you dare use my own spells against me" beeing pissed about Harry using his own invented spells basically because James did the same thing
(In the book) There is also a foreshadowing of Sectum Sempra I think. It is mentioned Snape attachs James with a spell that cuts his cheek. So I think he used that spell but missed.
Rowling's exscuse for the Therstral thing after Credric's death could work. My interpretation of Harry for the last bit of his fourth year was that he was numb and in shock.
That does make sense. I always thought that if you witness death and you go through the five stages of grief, that’s when you’ll be able to see a Thestral
@shaneholmes9738 as they said^ The book and movie are very different. Harry did k*ll Quirell in the movie, but in the book, he just got severely burned and 'sprouted' boils all over his body from those burns which lead to his death. Harry never saw that happen though. Harry did see Cedric d*e, but the theory could be what the og said.. he was numb from the shock and had to go through the 5 stages of grief first. Because his mind was so preoccupied with what had happened, he didn't leave any room for other thoughts. After accepting it, he finally saw the Thestrals. This probably happened with Luna too. In Hogwarts Legacy, the main character sees Thestrals right away, and I believe this is because he was not close enough to the person who di*d. Harry spent the whole year with Cedric for the tournament, and Luna most of her childhood with her mother. Being close to someone who passes makes it a lot harder to come to terms with rather than if it was a stranger.
Speaking from personal experience, when you are that close to and witness a sudden and sometimes graphic death shock really does set in and it can take extended periods of time to completely process it and even rise above that shock. So I can 100% get with the idea that Harry still hadn't fully come to grips with the loss of Cedric before leaving Hogwarts for the summer. It makes perfect sense if you have been though that kind of situation.

For the frame at 6:30 looking in the fridge, it looks like it was inspired by the cake used in Chamber of Secrets. Stylistically very similar, but just one tier this time
I think Rowling actually admitted in one of her interviews that the reason Harry did not see the Thestrals at the end of the 4th book, is because "I (Rowling) did not want to open another mistery right at the end of the book." So she was fully aware of this slight error.
I can’t even start to understand how much time and work this took. We appreciate your Potter knowledge and dedication!! One of my favorite parts about the movies is all the hidden Easter eggs of people who worked on the film! How neat would it be to see your name or yourself in the movie you work so hard on!
Your attention to detail in this video is truly unmatched! I fell in love with the series when i was in 2nd grade via my school’s library. Every time i watch the movies (i have the books but they’re not physically with me), I always realize a new easter egg or theory that I’ve learned from you or the carlin brothers. Thank you for the content you create. I hope to see the easter egg videos for the remaining 3 movies :)
29:28 although it wasn't specified in the books that Umbridge was obsessed with cats, she DID have plates with technicolour kittens on her office walls
Awesome amount of commitment and attention to detail on this! Also it sounds like the homeowners of the house in the first movie were like the real-life Dursleys
25:36 I appreciate you outlining all of the different Great Hall House layouts. When I was playing Hogwarts Legacy, I thought the placement of tables seemed off. I don't know if Rowling ever outlined the order of the 4 tables, but I wish there was a definitive layout
For the thestral thing, I think it makes sense. Though i also dont really care about plot holes. Writing a book isnt easy so while it's fun to break down plot holes it's not something to get mad about. Anyway, great video! Very interesting details and the ootp picture breakdown was also really helpful.
I love how much you know about both the books and the movies and how they're different. Thank you for this amazing video and for your attention to details. You answer all the questions I have when I'm reading the books and wished I had someone to talk to about it... like the thestrals and Tonks using magic at the Dursleys... so good!!!
You gotta love that Warner Bros is giving Morgan grief about copyright when he's literally promoting the damn movie. Let content makers do their thing ffs. Thanks for your hard work Morgan!
This movie perfectly shows how to keep the path of a series, while also creating new precedents for future installments, and make a film stand out on its own.
Harry beating Voldemort with the power of friendship and love is the most shounen anime moment of the series. This makes me think Harry Potter has a lot of potential for an anime. It has magic, it has weird creatures, it has the "power of friendship"- theme, and most of it takes place in a school. All they would need is permission from Rowling, and the anime is set.
I think it makes sense for Harry not to process his mother's death, as he was too young at the time. On the other hand, him not processing Cedric's is a bit of a lame excuse given how impactful that moment was for him. Part of me wants to say Harry desired to kiss Cho, if only subconsciously. Great video, you pointed out several cool details.
@@kaloyanmateev In the video, MovieFlame mentions a quote from J. K. Rowling that claims Harry didn't properly process Cedric's death until he got back to Hogwarts in the fifth book/movie. This is used as the reason why he didn't see the Thestralls until this film, and I said I find that a lame excuse.
It could totally make sense though, it was the first death Harry consciously experienced and since it was at the end of the school year and with all that just happened, he was in shock and it was still too soon to process it completely...So it wasn't until the summer that he was able to really contemplate and "take in" what happened. Also death is a sensitive thing, you can't hold it against Harry or anyone the time it takes for them to process it on their own terms, so imo it's a valid enough explanation and don't think anyone can really hold it against JK like "no, he should have processed it immediately." Obviously JK wrote it differently so...
About Harry’s scream at 59:35 I believe what Flame says might be true but the online theory about Daniel scream being so powerful that the actors cry feels so better to me
i was watching this series of yours today for the other movies and i was rlly happy when i saw that you will be posting another one today 😭 thank you for all your hard work we appreciate it very much ! 💗
What never ceases to amaze me about these films is that after all this time, It still feels like we're seeing/learning about them for the first time. They carry that same thrill that's present when the first teaser trailer is released for a new installment in the Wizarding World and we waste no time to dissect every aspect of it. However, I think this is also testament to your brilliant work and how you manage to consistently conjure up something anew for us to marvel at as if we're still seeing it for the first time.
Thank you for all of your hard work, it is sincerely appreciated! I've been subscribed for a long time and always love your content. Thank you for you!!!
The veritaserum bit confused me in the books, because if I remember, Snape never gave Umbridge real veritaserum, and she would end up wasting a whole bottle even though Snape said she only needed 3 drops in a drink for it to work.
I’ve been waiting so long your videos are great and i love this series. I hope you don’t have too much stress and can still put these videos out with passion instead of pressure.
The orange, radish-like fruits that Luna wears as earring are actually dirigible plums - not something I would have caught, except I am currently rereading book 7! Thanks for making this awesome video!!
It is going to be very interesting in the following years to see all the contrast from these films to the future tv series adaptations. I personally am on pins and needles waiting to see how they are going to handle the dueling scene between Dumbledore and Voldemort in the ministry.
A small detail is that the scarecrow/ pumpkin man that we see outside hagrid’s house has a school uniform which most likely hadrid’s old uniform when we went to hogwarts
This Detail/Easter Egg series has been fun to watch - I've read so much about the series, but I learned several things from these videos! Thanks for your hard work!
24:30 I think this is one of the rare occasions where JK adding things after the series ended made sense. He didn’t even know his mother died at the time and after Cedric, he still hadn’t really processed it because he was in shock. I mean when a friend or a peer dies a lot of the time you don’t even realize it or process it at first. So to me, it makes sense.
@@d_moneyy Also in the book he was not present when Quirrel died. He didn't fall to dust like in the film but got burned and died later while Harry was in the hospital wing (which they may have changed because it would have been to graphic).
2:19 Is interesting that product placement (like Dudley wearing a Nike tee and his friend wearing ECKO shorts) was more present as the HP franchise was gathering more success in the mid 2000's. Excellent video @MovieFlame🧙🏻♂️
Insane amount of effort you put into these videos man, we appreciate them more than you know. Edit: At 39:20, I believe the spell is Levicorpus, not winguardiam leviosa, but I could be wrong
You’re right, as Luna uses it in the department of mysteries later in the film, a nice nod to what she’s learned from Harry. Although in the books, we don’t find out about that spell til Half Blood Prince when Harry has the book, as it’s created by Snape.

I have always wondered this about the magic used to obtain potter from the Dursleys. If the ministry was so keen to silence Potter, wouldn't the use of Alohomora by Tonks be enough to send Potter another official letter from the MoM?
Tonks is an adult so she didn't have the Trace on her. Even if they were watching the house, the ministry probably wouldn't alert on a grown-up's magic unless it affect him directly (like transfiguring him, for example)
@@LadyElvanthat's not how the trace is supposed to work. It alerts the ministry when magic is performed in the vicinity of an underage witch or wizard. That's it. That's why they didn't know it was Dobby who used the levitation charm in the second book/movie.
@@redza1603i think it was because harry was the only wizard in the area during chamber of secretsz so he was the only one they could think did it. when the advance guard arrived, that meant harry wasn't the only wizard around anymore. sort of like how the weasley kids could use magic at home because there were adult wizards nearby.
I feel like the reasoning of seeing the thestrals is ok. He was basically in shock after Cedric died. When he was in shock he had not been able to process the full scale of his death. Once he was not as shocked he was able to see them I get it. When my father died when I was 14 I remember waking the next day thinking it had been a bad dream. I think the shocking realization of that was far worse. If you imagine going thru a tragic event of the nature the graveyard would have been it would have been more shock inducing.
You're attention to detail is insane. Thank you for these Easter egg videos, they are amazing. Hard work for stunning results. I could rewatch this a thousand times with all the others. So fun for those who love the lore.
Regarding Harry seeing Thestrals: I think JKR once said that the reason Harry didn’t see them right after Cedric's death was because JKR didn’t want to introduce a new creature at the end of the (fourth) book.
Wow! Thank you so much for this great video!! And I wanted to quickly add something. When you showed that brooch that Dolores has, I immediately thought of the moment when Harry and Hermione wanted to use her fireplace. As soon as they enter Umbridge’s cabinet we get a shot of a kitten leaving through the door. I bet it’s the same one from the brooch and it went to tell on Harry as Dolores appeared a moment after:) Just like the portraits in the Dumbledore’s office.
3:19 Fun fact: "stark" means "strong" in Swedish. It might be just a coincidence, but a lot of time there is more thought behind character names than people realize
24:29 I think, Hogwarts Legacy explains Harry not seeing Thestrals after Cedrics death pretty well. There are carriges which drive around by themselves, without any horses or thestrals drawning them. The main character of HL can see thestrals since the beginning of the game, so he should see them, if they were there. So there are carriges, which drive by themselves; maybe they just used these carriges on the last day of Harrys fourth year :D
The MC of HL sees a man get eaten by a dragon in the intro, and then the Thestral appear out of nowhere a few seconds later. Showing that they just perceived death.
I thought in the room of requirement scene where Nigel is floating that I heard them say Leviocorpus. This would be a mistake if they do because Harry couldnt have taught that spell as he doesnt learn it until the next book.
Luna also uses Levicorpus against a death eater during the final battle. It really just goes to show how movie canon is different from book canon. It seems that in movie canon Levicorpus might not even be a Half Blood Prince spell and/or might just be common knowledge
Morgan: "We can see a LOT of people buying this paper too, showing that this slander would spread pretty fast" JJ Jameson: "I resent that. Slander is spoken. In print it's libel"
I thought I was already subscribed, but i now subscribed, and will like this video as well. I've been watching since i found your Hunger Games lore videos and love the care and effort you put into your work. Keep up the great work!
She does have a obsession over cats in the book and i quote"and on of the walls was a collection of ornament plates each decorated with a large technocolored kitten wearing a different bow around its neck" that was straight from the book

1:30 Actually, this is very British: when they talk about HEAT, hot weather, Fahrenheit is used, when talking about temperature in general and cold weather, Celsius is common. Absolutely admire your dedication to your work. Love these Easter Egg videos. :)
There is a little foreshadowing in the beginning of the movie at dinner. So when Lupin mentions that the last time Voldemort gained power he tried to "take away everything we hold most dear" it cuts to Mr. Weasley and Serious because throughout the movie those are the two people Voldemort uses to torture Harry.
The dragon firework that chases Umbridge is a lot like the dragon firework at Bilbo's party in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001). Every time I see it, I play the scene in my head, "Bilbo, watch out for the dragon?" "Dragon? Nonsense. There hasn't been a dragon in these parts for a thousand years."

But he processes cedric's death
@@kaloyanmateev In the video, MovieFlame mentions a quote from J. K. Rowling that claims Harry didn't properly process Cedric's death until he got back to Hogwarts in the fifth book/movie. This is used as the reason why he didn't see the Thestralls until this film, and I said I find that a lame excuse.
@@Metal6078do you shave
It could totally make sense though, it was the first death Harry consciously experienced and since it was at the end of the school year and with all that just happened, he was in shock and it was still too soon to process it completely...So it wasn't until the summer that he was able to really contemplate and "take in" what happened.
Also death is a sensitive thing, you can't hold it against Harry or anyone the time it takes for them to process it on their own terms, so imo it's a valid enough explanation and don't think anyone can really hold it against JK like "no, he should have processed it immediately." Obviously JK wrote it differently so...
@@DJ.KyloRen I never said that it doesn't make sense or isn't valid, I just think it was a lackluster explanation.
What never ceases to amaze me about these films is that after all this time, It still feels like we're
seeing/learning about them for the first time.
It was a lot more easter eggs than I expected. Can't imagine how long this must have taken you, thank you!
Since the first time i found your channel (Difference between the Harry Potter Novels and Movies) i love every HP-Content you make
So much amazing work goes into these. If only they were longer!❤
Thank you for all your videos. They got me really into the lore and to finally go out and get the books. Look forward to your future videos
What about quirell he saw him die
@@d_moneyy quirrell basically sold his soul so to me he didn’t count as a death
@@d_moneyy Also in the book he was not present when Quirrel died. He didn't fall to dust like in the film but got burned and died later while Harry was in the hospital wing (which they may have changed because it would have been to graphic).
53:18 snape: you dared to use my own spells against me
2:19 Is interesting that product placement (like Dudley wearing a Nike tee and his friend wearing ECKO shorts) was more present as the HP franchise was gathering more success in the mid 2000's. Excellent video @MovieFlame🧙🏻♂️
You are, by far, the definitive HP fan and channel.
You should know your incredibly hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Great video
yes i’ve been waiting on this love these and how i can watch bits and pieces of the whole thing
Im loving all your videos on this I just recently marathoned the entire series and the fantastic beasts after and as I was looking up bts and making of all the films I found this amazing channel and it’s def the best Harry Potter channel in all of RUclips u deserve a lot of credit for these in depth videos that bring out my love for all these films! Thank you for doing such an incredible job with this channel
@@nyx_moonwalkYes, but the ministry is after Harry, what do they care if there are other wizards in the area?
I have this exact same question every time I hear about the scene
53:13 looks like Snape has his own spell used against him by both father and son
53:11 “you dare use my own spells against me potter?” fits PERFECTLY
Wow! You put so much work into this! Well done!
I love how much work you put into these videos so we can enjoy!
22:20 Also it is theorized about that Voldemort is supposedly wearing Draco's clothes to represent the two biggest points of turmoil for Harry.
You're attention to detail is insane. Thank you for these Easter egg videos, they are amazing. Hard work for stunning results. I could rewatch this a thousand times with all the others. So fun for those who love the lore.
It's admiring how you keep my love for the series alive no matter how much jk is trying to kill it
28:17 “Padma Patil put a spell on a piece of paper…” the alliteration was so satisfying
Thanks for these videos, Morgan. The amount of detail you put into these videos is outstanding. Much appreciated!
comment for morgan appreciation! been enjoying the channel for a long time!
Regarding Harry seeing Thestrals: I think JKR once said that the reason Harry didn’t see them right after Cedric's death was because JKR didn’t want to introduce a new creature at the end of the (fourth) book.
Kind of insane how the drought at the beginning was actually a real event
Stark in used in english too, ie stark contrast
0:52 ain't no way you just called a county a country lmaooooo
I've been watching you for years and I still cant stop watching you.
Actually, in the book, Umbridge does have cat plates on her walls. The book mentions them whenever Harry goes in her office.
I love playing these kinds of videos in the background while I'm working. Thanks for your very entertaining analysis!
Can we appreciate how much effort he puts in these vids ❤
6:59 - It’s the statue from a different angle. You just noticed their notes on the props where mixed up
I thought in the room of requirement scene where Nigel is floating that I heard them say Leviocorpus.
@@officialmonarchmusic im not sure but I feel like it should stick to the book on that
@@occheermommy I agree, but we can't change the past
Morgan, your dedication to this priceless series is unmatched. Thank you for all of your time.
Morgan: "We can see a LOT of people buying this paper too, showing that this slander would spread pretty fast"
JJ Jameson: "I resent that. Slander is spoken. In print it's libel"
Love your videos mate 💜
Man being a squib must have sucked
I thought I was already subscribed, but i now subscribed, and will like this video as well. I've been watching since i found your Hunger Games lore videos and love the care and effort you put into your work. Keep up the great work!
So It’s Lily’s and James own fault they died
Kind of but I still blame wormtail
@@saumyabayeah if I actually think same I blame him too
She does have a obsession over cats in the book and i quote"and on of the walls was a collection of ornament plates each decorated with a large technocolored kitten wearing a different bow around its neck" that was straight from the book
Imma just drop this one here for the algorhytm
infact, this is the best harry potter channel I know. Good work
1:30 Actually, this is very British: when they talk about HEAT, hot weather, Fahrenheit is used, when talking about temperature in general and cold weather, Celsius is common.
Absolutely admire your dedication to your work. Love these Easter Egg videos. :)
The video made me relax, I was having a bit of anxiety and seeing a potter content gave me a break from all the stress.
Love the Harry Potter videos keep them coming!!
Keep up the good work I hope you reach your goal (BTW amazing video)
6:55 they didn't remove "whatever this is" its the same statue thats now on the right side
15:19 he also made the best looking harry potter books
Thank you for spending so much time revealing the details of these movies! Your hard work is very much appreciated.
I so appreciate the hard work you put in for each video essay. An authentic display of talent and dedication. Thanks Morgan, keep growing ! X🩷
I enjoy all your gideos and often watch them more than once. Thanks for the in depth breakdown of the HP series
16:38 I imagine the “ferret” was probably a jarvey
I’m currently reading the whole series in order for the first time. Read 1 book, then the movie and finally these Easter eggs videos. Thank you so much for you efforts!
Can’t wait for the Half Blood Prince video to be released!
I am in awe every time you make one of these videos. Phenomenal work, Morgan! Can't wait for the next.
Hi i hope im boosting your video. Love ur channel Morgan ❤
Great Video! I love all these Harry Potter Easter Egg videos and I hope you do even more, maybe even the fantastic beasts!
