Great Q&A Allie! Christian from Grove City PA, I totally agree with you about changing how you feel about hunting. I was only 12 at the time and was hesitant to shoot the deer at first , but after shooting the doe and processing it, it all became clear and like clicked . 33 years later and as many deer , I love it even more and so excited to finally get in the PA woods this Saturday! Going to be an exciting , fun year! And as for merchandise , how about some hats, maybe travel mugs or thermos, gotta have that coffee!! Would love to hunt and share all the knowledge I have gained over the years with you and Nick, you truly love nature ! Keep the vids coming!

I have a AirStream Basecamp that I travel with my dogs. We are heading out to the Pecos for a week of fly fishing and while I’m up there I may begin a search for a bow.
Definitely try different releases to find one that works the best with your shooting. I shot Scott wrist releases forever and always had good success with them. After watching many coaching videos from John Dudley at NockOn Archery, I decided to try a thumb release. I picked up a TRU Ball Blade. Your hand position is different from a wrist and will take a bit to get used to. But, DO IT. My accuracy dramatically improved using a thumb release over a wrist release. I was finding myself punching the trigger with the wrist release. With the thumb release, it's almost a surprise shot and you can make it happen by pulling through the shot and back tension, not just by pressing the thumb trigger. It is great! John Dudley has a modified Carter thumb release called the Nock 2 It. Either that one or the TRU Ball Blade Pro. You won't regret it or go back to a wrist release again. There's a reason pro and tournament archers are using these.

You should check out some RUclips videos on the Khoi-San (aka Kalahari Bushmen). I wish to learn Tracking from them (watch as many RUclipss on subj as can...not enough).
Their tracking skills are "Spiritual", and mesmerizing.

A lot of interesting info, thanks for sharing. If you're ever in the Willamette Valley in Oregon let me know. Thank you for supporting and promoting our outdoor way of life and especially to the girls/women out there. I find it encouraging that with an open mind non hunters can become hunters even if they didn't start out with interest. Good luck this season. I'll be chasing elk/deer here in Oregon soon.

Since you are from SW PA and just getting into fly fishing and fly tying you need to check out the Fly Tiers reunion at 7 springs. It happens in the spring of each year. It put on by Chuck Furimsky. Chuck used to put on the international fly tiers symposium that happens around the USA in the late winter early spring. Some of the tiers who are there at 7 Springs are; Joe Humphreys, Bob Clouser Sr. And Jr. , Josh Miller, Tom Baltzer, Stan Hoover to name a few.

Allie I didn't know you used to be a paramedic I'm a volunteer firefighter in the little town of coal city Indiana we have maybe 10 volunteers and this year I just got my 10 year service pin I joined my right before I graduated highschool I absolutely love it the adrenaline rush the light the sirens and helping people have fun hunting

My fly rod was on fire today. Caught 23 trout today and the biggest one was 16 inch rainbow. Going to pick up and learn about a bow while up here in All Albuquerque on Thursday.
I would like to know how many pound pull do you have on your bow? I am a beginner and had to decrease it to 30 to become stronger. Could you sometime do a video on the parts of your bow and shooting techniques?
Absolutely. I am shooting 48lbs right now.
Look up shooting form. Elbow up and draw with your back. Helped me a ton.
Damn, I sure wish I could meet a girl like you. It seems like you have a lot of the same interests as i do and I am also from Pennsylvania I'm just a little north of Pittsburgh in Titusville PA the birthplace of the oil industry about 40 in minutes south of Erie PA and it would be pretty cool to meet you guys someday if your ever in the area. I'm definitely jealous about you guys heading out on the road in a truck and camper and seeing and hunting and fishing all the cool different spots across the country and has also been a life long goal of mine to do someday. I'm a country boy through and through and grew up hunting and fishing and riding ATVs and dirt bikes and used to shoot competition archery and love to archery hunt it's just cool to see some local people that enjoy the same things as I do and I just actually came across your videos as I was looking at different ways to clean skulls for european mounts so I can do my own instead of paying others like I have in the past and debating on trying a method out on my heavy chocolate horn 10pt that I just got with 4 days left of the PA 2020 archery season but anyhow awesome to see some locals I can relate to and wish you guys the best and any help on a awesome girl like you with all the same interests would be also pretty my cool hahaha good luck on the hunting and fishing from a fellow NW PA guy. Snapper is the best to eat haha. but nothing like sight casting for red fish or landing a big kingfish.
Red fish is on the list next time we're in Florida.
My dad side of the family is from Canada and my grandmother own a bait and tackle shop and my dad did too

My daughter's really like viewing your channel as do i. really think it's a great opportunity for you and Nick to continue to influence the younger generation of hunter's. Your and Nick's travels have given me a great chance to talk with my kids about the importance of our public lands. I've mentioned this before but if you guys come to Oregon look up born and raised crew! Would be the absolute best education you will receive on Roosevelt elk. Former paramedic firefighter and emt. Been an archer for a while but (2019) would be my 1st season. Having the chance to learn from you in person would be great. I have absolutely no hunting experience so I’m a bit nervous and a little overwhelmed.

Oh... just learned a tough lesson. Two doe came into my back pasture. Grabbed my bow, but my bow release was outside from yesterday’s hunt. Sighted in... got my angle, and hit a little fence spike. Missed! What’s a silly mistake you’ve made?

Hunt give away idea....preserve pheasant hunt....I'm sure there would be lots of action, for videos. Possibly, a hunt could be arranged in different states if the winner was from another state than Pennsylvania. I'm from south of Pittsburgh, Westmoreland county.
