Beautiful wood. I was a high school shop teacher for 33 years and taught wood working for most of those years I’ve only seen monkey pod wood in photo’s and now your video and have never worked with it. It will make for some interesting table tops or counter tops...
Fantastic! This video was an eye-opener about sawmilling. The precision and expertise in handling these huge logs are impressive. This video is exceptionally clear and well-produced. Eagerly anticipating more of your content. Keep up the excellent work!
Fantastic! I was truly impressed by the detail in this video. Seeing those huge logs being cut so precisely is captivating. The clarity of this video is excellent. Looking forward to your upcoming videos. Keep up the fantastic work!
When I was in the Philippines in late 60's I bought a fork and spoon wall decoration set, (8" wide x 4' tall) made out of Monkey Pod wood. They've been decorations on my back patio pretty much for the duration of their life here in So Cal. They have a weathered super dry look to them, they've lost their luster, but still have a nostalgic look to them after all these years.
Thank you Zoe,Larry and Trey for sharing another great video with us!! That wood is fantastic was worth the wait for you to get it. Gorgeous grain and color. God Bless all of y'all and make everyday a special day in your lives!!
Wow that is really awesome wood !! The contrast between black to white and all colors in between very very nice well thanks for the entertainment and showing us a new variety of wood looking forward to the next video❤
Monkey pod is a pretty easy wood to work with. It's sourced commonly in South America as well as South East Asia. It has excellent rot resistance and it work well (and is commonly used for doing cutting boards) as well as tables. I used to import 40 foot containers full of this stuff. Only downside to milling the wood is that the wood pulls clays / silica from the soil (kind of like cedar) and it will wreak havock on your bandsaw blade relatively quickly. Don't even bother with carbide for the bandsaw, just use standard Lenox blades. The wood it self when being sanded has a scent of white pepper. It's nice to work with in the sense that I have allergies to almost every wood out there but this one never really impacted me. Judging by the grain color in this slab it came from a low elevation area / wetland. If you pull them from higher elevations / dryer areas with more clay in the soil you will get much darker and dramatic streaks in them. I have a few of these slaps still sitting in my shop. One of them is about 80" wide x 10' tall. I don't even know how wide it is actually because the sap wood has been cut off. One solid slab, pretty insane. Nice work!
I don't know about a million dollar log, but those are certainly million dollar legs!!! Damn!!! I haven't seen anything like that in leggings in years!!! Thank you and please make as many videos as possible! I am subscribed and ready for more!
I'm speechless other than I've never heard of the wood before. Looks like a hard solid wood, almost like it has a casing around it. Can't wait to see what you make of it. The curvature on that bubble was impressive too! How long will it be before we see some epoxy or projects even? I personally have hard time going back through the videos to see the final project. Much love to you guys!!
Man you have to love how the camera man never missed a chance to pan the camera at the right angle to film the backside, nothing says family own business like putting your daughter/sister/wife rear up for viewing pleasure. RUclips is now just OF with clothes still on.

It is a hardwood tree native to Southeast Asia and South and Central America. Considering how popular both pellet stoves and grills have become I'm wondering if you have considered using your waste sawdust along with your waste wood to make them for sale. There are machines available that do just that. I believe you would recover your investment in relatively short order assuming you developed and implemented an effective marketing plan
There is no money to be made from the raw material for pellets. There are semi trailers full of chips that don't make enough to pay for the fuel to deliver them. They only truck them to pellet plants because it's cheaper than taking them to the land fill. Are you in the business of giving investment advice ?

Well the wood is beautiful but you are much more beautiful. Love the fact that you use safety and you're extremely good at what you do thanks for the video
This cameraman really knows what hes doing!👍
He definitely gets all the curves/angles
... and so does she (and I am NOT complaining)
Showing his wifes angles to the world, if that's what makes him happy I spose
They just know that we aren't here to watch the wood. Her body is what makes them profitable on RUclips.
The yogapants know what they're doing also. 🤣🤣
What a beautiful log. I have to admit that I came here to see the log. I love that log. What a big, round, juicy log.
I never realized how much I love logs before!
