Just got home from work. I listen to your whole segment. Very interesting. This is what I think. God had a plan for you. And you living what he has created for you. And you're doing very well at it. I'm glad that Nick is there to support you and you supporting him. I know that you were getting a little emotional at times. And we all do because we're humans. I am so glad that you're happy and what you do best. And most of my life people will tell me that I wasn't good enough. It would break my heart. When I joined the Navy because I wanted to be independent and show my father that I was a man. The Navy showed me how to grow up and to be responsible. I also was told in the Navy by chief petty officer that I was NOT going to be accepted in hospital corpsman School because I flunked out of of the hospital corpsman School. I was sent to the fleet and got stationed in the USS Mount Hood up in the Bay area. But it was meant to be for my life. Because I learned about the real Navy and being out in the ocean and learning about basic sailor skills. I got the travel to places I never thought I would go to. Here are some of the ports that I went to. Hawaii, the Philippine Islands, Guam, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong China, Korea and our ship spend time 90 days in the Indian Ocean. I became a shell back because we crossed the equator. So I decided to reapply for hospital corpsman School. My leading petty officer from my division officer denied my request. But it had to go to the executive officer. He approved it. Because I would go work in the medical department on the Navy ship on my own time to learn as much as I can about the medical field. I had a HM1 Pacio who was in charge of the medical department on the USS Mount Hood. He saw how much I wanted to become a hospital corpsman and how much I wanted to learn. So I spent a year OJT training in the medical department on the naval ship. Then my leading petty officer asked me to put in a request to reapply for hospital corpsman School in San Diego California. Guess what? My request got approved. I received my orders out of Hawaii. I flew to San Diego California and that's a 6-hour flight. I didn't want to fail again. I had a Navy lieutenant nurse help me out. He gave me orders to go to tutoring classes 5 days a week. I followed his orders. I learned how to study and take tests. To make a long story short. I graduated 12th of my class and had an 88.12 average. There were 45 students in our class. I thank God for being with me and giving me the strength to carry on. After graduating from hospital corpsman School. I got orders to go to FMF School to learn how to be a field medical corpsman for the United States Marine corps. Emergency medicine. I learned to have high respect for the United States Marines. I love the Marine corps because they respected their "DOCS"and they took care of us out in the field. They will protect us from the enemy. I love the men and women from the Marine corps. I'm at my wife while I was stationed and naval hospital camp Pendleton. That was in 1984. Then we were married in November 29th 1986. We've been married 35 years. We are not materialistic also. We have a simple house in a nice neighborhood. We drive simple cars. We have our health and we have food to eat. My wife and I thank God everyday for the life he's given us. I wish I could send you some pictures of her and I together.. thank you for your story. May God bless you and Nick always.

Alle your story is so relatable! For me it was a chemistry phd program when I realized the others had a passion for it and I was just there. Rock climbing was the thing I first found passion for and changed my life to make time for it. I picked up bow hunting 2 years ago now, after a year of observant hunting. I'm so happy to have found your channel recently. I value all the advice and videos out there by males on the topic, but there is something so nice about seeing someone that looks and acts like me, out there doing her thing. Thanks and keep it up! You're awesome :)

Wow. I relate to this so much. I was going into nursing and was switching to PA also. I wanted the stability the career could offer but am not excited or inspired by the work itself. I got into archery last year and am motivated to graduate to a compound after getting proficient with recurve. Hunting is the goal. I met a wonderful man who is a contractor and feel so inspired by what he does that it motivates me to want be a part of that. It’s hard to let go of all the effort that went into getting a degree, step into the unknown, and lose the potential sense of security.... but there is something magical and scary about following the bread crumbs of the things that excite us. Thank you for sharing your story!! It was very reassuring for me at a time where I am still debating a life crossroad.

These things you look forward to are all things in this life.
Have you ever thought about eternal life?
Have you ever wondered whether you can enter heaven in the future?
Are you willing to repent and believe in Jesus?
Do you know that the Lord Jesus is your only Savior?
Did you know that only holy people can enter the kingdom of heaven?
Are you willing to forsake all sins, repent and return to God, become holy before God, and become the holy daughter of God?
Did you know that those who have not repented and are saved will enter the eternal fire of hell?
How will you choose between heaven and hell?

I found your channel since I’m in the same situation you were when you were a College Senior. I’m a healthcare professional and trying to pursue a career in the outdoors content creation (fishing and hunting). I totally feel everything you said about the passion, happiness, the love for content creation, influencing others...I always tell my wife that we are put on this earth to fulfill God’s will. He makes all of us in different ways with different personalities to help each other. Even though I am very good at my job (critical care pharmacist) and I save lives like you did in your pursuit to be in the medical field, I have this burn inside of me that I need to fulfill and that my current full time career is not fulfilling. RUclips fishing has really quenched that thirst. Now, I am busting my ass with my channel trying to grow it and continue to post very frequently to satisfy the analytics but, I love it! I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s so satisfying to see people interact with your creation and really enjoy the product you produce on screen. Anyways, I found your channel because I too want to expand into hunting and I’m slowly incorporating that into my channel. Thank you for the great videos especially for beginners and thank you for your frankness. I totally understand every single word you try to convey to your audience about your passion and goals.

Well, from my experience, being a medic would have made you a good PA. Most of the newer ED docs I know that are so good were either EMTs or medics before med school. My old med control was in EMS while in college and has a better grip of what our work environment is like over those who weren’t. He actually first responds with new docs to our some of our calls. Matter of fact, he stopped me from intubating on a cardiac arrest to make the new guy get in the vomit. Just an FYI, if you get the EMS itch again, every agency here is short.
As far as hunting, with me, I was always in the woods since I was a little kid. We had about 15 acres with a small pond that I would go in every day. It was peaceful and I made some sort of adventure with it. I didn’t get into hunting until my teens, but actually didn’t take my first deer until my late 20s. Not wanting to sound too much like “Sweaty Teddy”, but hunting really has been something spiritual to me. I’m always enjoying what I see in nature because I know some have never seen some of the different wildlife I’ve seen in the wild. With me there is always a little sadness taking the life of an animal even though I do it for me and wildlife management.
All this just to say keep enjoying the outdoors and keep the videos coming.
Clarification: I wasn’t knocking Ted Nugent. I’ve enjoyed his music for a long time. I do enjoy his hunting videos also. More respect for him than most celebrities.

Regarding the difference between health care people and fitness people; the health care people (EMT, paramedics, emergency room) work with people on the edge of death so the humor is very dark. While fitness people (Bro!) deal with people close to their physical peak so it's all high fives and PBs.

“Don't aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it.....success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it.” Viktor Frankl

That is an awesome personal story Allie, on how you became a Responsible Outdoor Activities Conservationist& Hunter, Fisher!
Cute "boys and anatomy" wow your a real "Huntress" on the prowl Allie, lol!
Many of us need to have an "outlet"
To "Reset" our inner being.Outdoor Activities such as Hunting, Fishing, Trekking, Camping are all part of the
"rejuvenating outlets". To " build upon" and grow.
Conservation of Wildlife Fauna and Flora is a major part of being a True Responsible Hunter and Fisher.
Such was also naturaly impressed on me though studying in NYS Hunter Education and later German Hunting School for US Military Personnel while I was stationed in Germany and of course doing it being there.
All of which had a positive impact on my development in becoming an Responsable Conservationist, Hunter- Fisher.
Wishing You Good Hunting, Fishing and Safe Journeys!

That's so crazy, i bought my first First Lite Merino wool ASAT crew because of Steve too lol. It's so cool that you can live your best life, most people don't get to experience that. Most people are forced to work in the corporate world just to get enough $ to afford to dabble in their best life.

Live your life to the fullest, looking back from this end, it really is not a very long time!
