You work so quickly in the kitchen and without a wasted movement. No wonder you get so much accomplished in an hour! Fed the family and the piggies in record time. Perfect eggs and quality control dispatched a blemish on the celery with a casual flick of the knife. You are a wonder!

When I worked full time and you had to keep weekends free for children’s activities etc., I tried to make sure I did housework every day through the week. I still do that, including vacuuming and mopping thurs/Friday and Monday because you are so right it sure gets untidy over the weekend when children and grandchildren visit! Hi lovely lady.
I'm on a low usage plan with Contact Energy with free power Saturday, Sunday from 9am to 5pm, this is when I take advantage of preparing our food for the week as well as the cloths, lining, blankets and pillows washed in hot water over the weekend. My power hasn't been over $20 since February 2023.
I don't eat meat, and my daughter will go get a pie or something when she feels like meat.
Most my veggies are prepared in jars, all my cakes are in jars and if anyone comes and want's icing it's made as needed.
Pasta, rice and sandwiches to be toasted, (which I have you to thank with much appreciation, as I never thought of freezing prepared toasted sandwiches), are in the freezer.
I have a small freezer so not much will fit in it; is why I use a lot of jar prepping.
I grow some of my veggies and only of what we eat and so much better tasting than store brought veggies.
Thank you for your time and what you shear.
From Hamilton, much love to you and all.

I also work from home and the last 8 months have become so overwhelming. It got to the point where I was so busy that I was working all day in my pyjamas until 7.30/8.00pm and we were just too tired to cook. With all 4 members of our household (including 2 young adult sons)working long hours we are sharing the cooking to take the pressure off. I have just done a big online shop at Coles and planned the meals around everyone’s cooking abilities. I’m also making sure there are leftovers from every meal so we can put extra portions in the freezer for those days when no one wants to cook. I’ve also bought options for the air fryer that are quick and easy to avoid falling prey to Uber eats. So far so good - and my partner is cooking roast lamb and veggies tonight which is a slight step outside his comfort zone, but I think he’s just realised how easy a roast actually is to cook!

Do some basic stuff first thing eg bed, shower, washing, word for today etc. Don’t go on utube until sitting down after lunch etc. Summer gets busy in garden. So good to have meals in freezer. I find day always better if organised.

Hybrid working schedule here and the days I WFH are just as long as the days in the office 😮‍💨
I have found for my lifestyle this schedule works for me. Saturday is my day of rest/gardening day with a review of the calender for the upcoming week plus house business (budgeting etc). On Sunday I grocery shop than I am in the kitchen doing food prep/menu plan for the upcoming wek, preservation plus house reset.
I do have a rule when WFH - I MUST take my 1 hour lunch break and it is during that time I catch up on chores, exercise, talk with family or run errands ....

Hi Stacey. I enjoyed the 'behind the scenes' feel of this video 😊 What I do to make things easier for myself is sometimes cook a double amount of a meal then either I'm sorted for the next night as well or you can freeze the extra for another day. If you're having it two nights running you can change whatever you're having with it so it doesn't feel like you're having the same thing two nights running ie roast vegetables the first night, then broccoli with cheese sauce the following night etc
Are we having more lemon recipes soon, you mentioned it previously? Looking forward to some new ideas for using my lemons that are going crazy at the moment 😃

Hi Stacey, I followed your excellent advice and prepared a dozen (or more) freezer meals. Each freezer bag is enough to give me 3-4 meals for the two of us. I don't tend to pre plan meals for the two of us. I'm more of a whatever strikes my fancy in the moment person. Less rigid, more flexible with the mood of the day. 🤗. I've also been making up various spice blends and marinades ( and freezing these liquid marinades) to compliment my seat of the pants cooking style. This whimsical method cooking works very well for me (us). 😊

I liked that chicken salad idea as I find eating a bore & struggle to eat chicken these days or eggs for that matter. But a spoon full of that on my rice crackers for lunch or tea for that matter sounds & looked great!! I don't mind celery chopped finely & thought that I would probably add some minced garlic to the mix. I am not sure about the dill but I am willing to give it a try!! Though I think I would probably bend more to chopped chives in it. I love egg mayonnaise which is what caught my attention so anything that uses mayo is my kind of meal!!
Tonight's tea was rice cakes with the rest of my salad items, though I forgot the beetroot until I had eaten them & realised what was missing with the taste but I did have the mayo. Then finished off with lashings of gluten free vegemite & the rest of the bag of grated cheese followed by a grannysmith apple. This was because I forgot to take the mince out of the freezer in time to defrost & thought I would do it in my steamer only it doesn't want to steam & it was a christmas present so not old!!

I make a lot of base sauces ie curry, Italian, Thai etc. I freeze them and just add the meat or fish of choice later, 😁

Do you make your own lemon pepper seasoning? Wish I could meal plan but never really got into it, now I live alone so not much point. I will however freeze some premade sandwiches and of course when I cook Bolognese, stews and soups I always make extra to freeze

I noticed the pie was bought. Do you make your own mince and cheese pies? If so, that would be an interesting recipe.

Does your hubby have the weekend off? If so i would clean on a Monday or Friday so you can spend the weekend with your hubby! The chicken salad looked good! My hubby would love it! We freeze leftovers into individual containers and a couple of times in the week I pull some out of the freezer and ask hubby what he'd like for tea. Sometimes we want different things! He will have stirfry and i will have mexican wraps! Loving your channel! Im trying to find your eggless nayo recipe without much luck! If you dont mind me asking, what happened to the front of your fridge? I know a while back it was trendy to etch a design into it! Im guessing that is the case!

@sharonburling2262 Unfortunately no he doesn't he works seven days a week. But I loved your idea :) Yes, you have just reminded me I never shared those mayo recipes. I will make sure to film that soon! Also, the fridge had been in storage and it had been knuckled by a teenager. It is an old fridge and hopefully someday soon I can get a new one :)

Are those grey containers silicone? They look handy, where did you get them from? If Amazon, please feel free to provide an associate link.
I've got some "Flat Stacks" containers but they are way smaller. Cheers!
