    Three great recipes Stacy thanks for sharing. I think if you had doubled up on your sour cream and left the regular cream out of the stroganoff the tartness would probably have been there without adding lemon juice. That was a great idea though.
    Also tell your daughter there is a RUclips channel called six sisters stuff where in the beginning one of the sisters starts out talking about the instant pot which is the same as your pressure cooker and she has all kinds of recipes and do's and don'ts. Of course they're based here in the US so she might have to change from cups to grams and Fahrenheit to Celsius.

    It was fun to get to hear the voice of the husband of the farmer's wife. Is he American?
    When you get into cooking Mexican-ish food, as a Southern California native, you're on my home turf. Growing up, I spent my summers in a little farming village in Mexico. For a beginner who doesn’t have ready access to Mexican ingredients, you did quite well. Nacho cheese usually has some green chilies mixed in.
    Since you do a lot of freezer meals, you might like one of my favorite handy tips: if you use sweet rice flour, called mochiko or glutinous rice flour, instead of corn flour, your gravies and sauces won't thin out when they are frozen and reheated, as corn flour can. You use it exactly the same way, in a 1:1 substitution.
    I love stroganoff and make several different kinds, but yours is different from any of them. When I make it with mince, I leave the mince whole. I deglaze the pan with a little red wine, which probably gives it the acidity that your lemon juice does. I've never added parsley before, but I will try that. I've never seen curly fettuccine. I couldn't find it in my local supermarket, but it's available online.
    I get good ideas to try whenever I watch your videos.

    • @FarmersWifeHomestead
      @FarmersWifeHomestead  2 месяца назад +1

      No, he is a born Kiwi, but did spend some time in Canada and the USA for a little bit.
      I usually use a little white wine but I don't drink so had none in the house but I really liked the citrus taste in this one. Thanks for your message :)

Great when making a small amount, 2 slices are enough, taste as you go method.i do add a couple to a larger amount as it reduces the amount of grated cheese you need. Keep up the great videos, every one is a delightful surprise.

    Yummy, look so delicious. I have noticed your large glass containers for flour. I am updating my pantry from plastic to glass and am wondering where I can buy some like yours. All the jars I can find the openings are quite small, not wide enough for my hands or measuring cups

    Lasagna should always be cooked well before serving preferably in the morning or night before then cut into slices.
    Remember that this is a poor person’s meal using up everything the family would have had.
    sauce= little meat pork & beef,lots of chopped up vegetables, tomatoes.
    Pasta fresh or dried for the layers, with spinach, sliced boiled eggs,
    White sauce- once you know how to make a simple white sauce you can adjust it to make = cheese, onion,mushrooms,mustard, pepper corn,
    Lasagna is meant to be a use up everything meal, leftovers meat,veggies, etc. So clear out your fridge, vegetables

    Oh I use up old milk making white sauce. It has a slight tang, but works just fine.

    This is a bit cheesy but I can’t resist .
    You can’t use Beefstew as a password as it’s not Stroganoff 😅

    The Stroganoff meatballs on pasta are no doubt a tastefull dish - but im curious how it came to be called Stroganoff? The Beef Stroganoff I know is a rather different dish, served with rice or egg nudles 🙂

      @FarmersWifeHomestead  2 месяца назад

      It is still a stroganoff as it has the typical flavors that go in one. I usually serve mine with rice but felt like doing something different and using the ribbon pasta.

    That's a really thick tortilla. Not like that in Canada. So much easier to fold up.

      It was a pizza base, I didn't have a tortilla big enough without having to make one or go to town. It was tasty all the same :)
