Proud to be Ilonggo. I'm currently working in dubai. Habang nanonood ako ng vlog mo. Namimis ko tuloy ang lutong Ilonggo. Thanks Erwan for coming in the city of love.❤
I felt a wave of nostalgia when they finally took a bite of those queen siopao from roberto’s. When i was a student, whenever I need school supplies that I can buy at a cheaper price, I always head to the city proper and make my stop at roberto’s. There was always a line but getting to eat that siopao was so worth it.
I haven’t been home in so long but I finally will next month. This video brought tears to this Ilongga’s eyes as everything was just so well-executed and it was as if I was walking in Calle Real again. Indeed, one best ways to explore the culture is through their food, and I hope they saw the Ilonggos’ warmth and “pagkalambing” through the KANAMITON sg amon pagkaon. Thank you, FEATR!
Thank you Erwan-FEATR for keeping your word na there's more Iloilo content. ❤ I love siopao from Roberto's, mahaba palagi ang pila dyan especially pag rush hour. Sana na i feature yung La paz Batchoy ini expect ko pa naman na ma feature yung Ted's. My fave is the bridge scene ang cute lang hehe daming makak relate. I love this side of Erwan sosyal pero di pihikan parang si Anne.
Its always the best coming from Erwan, those little food stalls became an instant superstar, I gave some listings to to my friend whos flying to Iloilo tomorrow after watching this video we still missed some street food thanks to Erwan’s boldness in discovering these small eateries. Erwan is so down to earth, no frills, nothing fancy he just present the best of nowhere…Thank you for sharing us these video… Unforgettable Mae 👏👏👏
The good eats are all in the same street at calle real, I remember. Tapos going to Leganes may masarap na Batchoy resto near a park. Haaay those were the days of 1week work, nightime gala and lafang. I miss gallivanting, food tasting and adventures. When the spirit is still young and the body is already broken. I just enjoy watching the videos and reminiscing my younger working days.
When I was young, my Mama always stop by Buho to buy us warm breads. And now that we have grown up and working in Manila, it is still a must to go to Buho and buy breads. It's so nostalgic and part of my childhood memory as an Ilongga.
Here in Dubai, I always strive to utilize local ingredients to make Ilonggo dishes. I miss iloilo. Salamat gid sa inyo pag feature sang aton matahom nga probinsya!
Even before seeing this video, I always wanted to come to Iloilo and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao destinations (because they were the hometowns of my favorite fictional characters🤧😊). After watching this series, this heightened my curiosity about their culture and taste their signature foods! Soon, I will come to those places and experience the beauty that Iloilo and the rest of Visayan region has to offer. Kudos to the team! This is so wonderful❤🎉
You can never go wrong with Roberto's. I've seen lines go far before the pandemic especially during the lunch rush--it's packed. May he rest in heaven, Madam Claude, one of the owners of that institution who would humor me when I would come there. Another siopao classic is Dinagyang. Also, I wish they could also feature Jo-ann's fishball.
Hi Erwan, I appreciate you promoting my hometown. I haven't been home in more than 5 years, and I miss the food and environment that you mention. I hope you had a good time while you were there. God Bless you
Iloilo: the city closest to my heart. Thank you, Erwan, for the experience. I can't wait to go back and revisit those familiar places and try the places you introduced to us!
I love these episodes where Erwan and the other Featr Chefs are trying ordinary food from different regions. I miss Iloilo, my Nanay's hometown. Your reactions are cute and legit 😄 Thank you for reminding us of our great heritage❤❤❤
damn. nahisa ko sang siopao bah! a quick story why roberto's holds a place heart, i was from the iloilo province, in my college days (mid to late 2000s), roberto's is where me and my late grandmother would meet, whenever she is in the city. thanks featr for bringing back my fond memories of good food and my lola! madamo guid nga salamat!❤❤❤
Ilo Ilo is so clean. made a big difference of how clean the city , to the beauty of the towns, and cities. Every place you go you don't see garbage . The food looks so delicious.
So nostalgic! You literally went to the small eateries, bakeries I grew up with! Takes me back to my childhood roots...thank you Featr! Makes me wanna go home!❤ shout out from NYC❤😊
Appreciate so much FEATR for showcasing the provinces in your videos. I have never seen Iloilo City this clean!!! Hope we can see bustling Manila and other MMDA cities like Iloilo...
"Salam-okan" doesn't literally mean to choke. It's the moment you're eating to fast that you'll choke on your food that you need to drink water or else you'll get hiccups or something like that. And that moment is called "nasalam-okan". Basically means food is too good you'll eat it fast and you'll choke on your food.
I was study in iloilo way back 1990, ang buho bakery n yan popular na sya also, sugbahan opposite ng amigo plaza hotel, Roberts,.. sa marina s diversion road...daminkainan n masarap s iloilo....na enjoy ko life ko being sa student s iloilo doctor's....proud ilongga from mindanAo
Loved this part 2 as well. It's not just about eating...brings back simple life and simple joys.... A warm culture and candid conversation....looking forward to more of great Pinoy findings 😍. Stay safe as we "hop in and travel with Featr"!❤
I've only very recently started watching your videos. As someone who has lived in Baguio, Kalinga, Manila, Batangas and Cebu; plus vacationed during the summers in Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan, I am so encouraged by the scope of the culinary info you have been sharing. I was wondering if you have done an episode on Batangas food, if not, I hope you do. I crave their ginataang tulingan with sun-dried kalamyas and pajo salad among other "ulams".
Thank you so much for featuring Ilonngo cuisine. Although just a tip of the iceberg with regards to the variety of food one can enjoy when visiting Iloilo, this video was able to capture the heart and soul of Ilonggo food. ❤❤❤
I absolutely loved watching this Iloilo food vlog! It's like taking a delicious journey through the flavors of Iloilo without leaving my couch. The host's passion for food and the local cuisine is contagious, and their genuine excitement with each bite is so refreshing. I couldn't help but crave all the mouthwatering dishes they featured. From the savory batchoy to the sweet and Robertos Siopao, this vlog is a culinary adventure that left me hungry for more. Thanks for this!
the part 2! i love roberto’s as well especially the queen siopao but thank for featuring the meatballs as well. meatballs were our go to ulam for lunch or dinner during my high school and college days as they are cheap and yummy. i have not tasted kalanph yet but i will definitely pass by there as i heard a good review about their burgers. i will try their molo soup as well. thank you erwan and @featr! do more videos of ilonggo food pls.!! madamo gid nga salamat!! ❤❤
Love you Erwan. I'm crazy with your beautiful voice that comes with so much sense with intellectual articulate voice resonating to the very soul. You are a good speaker/host. Your are an inspirational.❤️

Erwan if you are ever looking for other topics, I think the food during fiestas is another thing to feature. In Iloilo this might include la-uya, traditional Valenciana, and pork estodado cooked the Ilonggo way. Best of luck!
Yes maaga ako.. Sir Erwan nanonood ako ngaun ng niluto mong pares tas nagnotify tong part 2 mo jaan sa Iloilo.. Nkakatakam ang mga foods!! Namit gid! I miss my hometown Guimaras

My beautiful city proud ilonggo here❤ missing all the yummy food😋 hi sir erwan please say hi to your beautiful dahlia from me and miss anne❤ watching from texas
Authentic ilonggo dish is the "LAUYA" ilonggo term for KBL (Kadyos or black beans, siki or pata ng baboy and unripe Langka). This is my all-time favorite. There are different ways to cook like using 'batwan' and 'alubihod' leaves as sour ingredients and most importantly we prefer the pata ng baboy should be grilled to add the smokey flavor to the soup and less fatty. You should feature this as one of ilonggos comfort food @FEATR madamu gid nga salamat much love il❤il❤.
From Part 1 and this one. Thanks for doing my hometown justice (foodwise). You guys made me miss home. Made me want to pull the months in for my next vacation. (I'm an OFW here in Abu Dhabi)
I went to Roberto’s after watching this content 😂😂😂 rekindling my love for the siopao and meatballs. It was already closing time but the owner let me order my cravings ❤

Oh it’s like na-bilaukan in Tagalog
Exactly!
@@tinetirintinetine yes po, pero yung "salam-okan" parang "bilaokan" lang 😁
The other term is "nadunlan" in ilonggo or hiligaynon.
It is choke in english tho. Coz there's no direct english translation or term for about to get choke.
