@@shogun0810 He has Doomfist Slam mixed with genji dash, Mei's wall, doomfist primary fire, wall climb and doomfist block. He's like 60% doomist 20% Mei 15% genji and I guess his ult is a bit unic. It's usual for franchises such as Valorant to have similarities between hero kits, but that's the first time ever that I felt like a new hero barely brought any new ideas to table. The closest I can recall is abilities rework to be similar to others, such as Doomfist having his slam reworked to be similar to leap and block similar to not yet released nemesis form, Sombra having her translator going from completely unic to an omnidirectional blink, Symmetra having her beam reworked so it functions like Zarya and Orisa having a spin very similar to Grasp, note that every single example are isolated examples of hero who used to be fully unic but had their abilities changed for balancing reasons, and nearly all those changes encountered backlash from the playerbase for "standardising" heroes. I'm not outraged or anything, this just comes to show how incredibly creative and novel overwatch has been with its hero design up to this point and I'm a bit sad to see that this part of the game is slowing down
@@shogun0810 What's especially sad in my opinion is that you can kinda tell that the devs probably had something way more unic brewing but sort of self-sensored to end up with this certainly very fun and balançable melting pot of hero. It's especially noticeable in its design, it has to be one of the longest teased hero, with the spiky ball in Oasis being added to the game almost 7 years ago, yet the hero almost feels completely disconnected from his teaser, the experiment in Oasis is this black symbiote/ferofluid looking thing, but the hero uses pinkish looking crystals we've seen in a billion games, that honestly looks more like Lifeweaver's thorns than the substance he supposedly stole. If we now recontextualise his kit to fit this substance, some of his abilities start to look more unic too. He also looks so generic, again it has never been a complaint about any of the existing 41 heroes, but he looks like a bunch of tanks mixed together. His facial expressions look a lot like Mauga's with the signature prominent canines, as does his "neck cover". The general silhouette looks a bit like Sigma's not any detail in particular but the inverted triangular shape with the small head and big torso. As for his gun it's Orisa's literally has the exact same "beetle like" shape, Orisa's gun look extremely unic so it's obvious when they reuse it.

Finally. They made the needler from Halo into a real person.
I liked his concept art better, but him looking like the needler from Halo is a plus

I really hope I'm wrong but to me he looks like one of those heroes where if he's having fun, the other 9 players want to leave.
Edit: I stand corrected. He is very oppressive to the sups which sucks for me but overall not that bad. Hazard is very fun to play while not being OP or destroying the fun for everyone.

@@kozytime3232 and moira's autoaim no brain dmg on a basic ability. He literally has ram ult and block on a DM resource meter... With ram it's fine cuz he either blocks or damages and his autoaim is an ult but this guy does both at will with barely any CD cuz it's a resource meter

I dont really mind the mobility and them being an aggressive tank, the problem arises when literally none of the healers can keep up because their cds are way longer or require specific positioning to pull off that that rushing tank won't allow, and will blame us healers for

I love how every new hero is thought to fit in overwatch classic: you put then into the actual gameplay and they get overwhelmed by the lack of heals, the stuns and the debuffs, and they slowly turn into the usual pain to play

This hero was honestly very balanced and really fun to play when we got to try him out. Unlike most other heroes that gets nerfed because of OP skills at launch, this dude was EXTREMELY well balanced and fit well into a wide variety of combinations. And a climbing tank is so much fun.

Is it just me or his gameplay seems so similar to Doomfist?? they both have a leaping attack, they have shotguns on their left arm, and they also block incoming damage with their right arm. The only key difference are Hazard's wall and his ultimate.

@@bink97exactly. Hazard doesn’t have 4s punch or rollouts. He’ll probably play more like a combination of winston + mei. Slow engage using wall to block and control space and then leap to either get out or confirm a kill. He’ll probably even have the same melee animation cancel tech as winston as well as doom’s slam block cancel. Ult will be used the same way as mei’s. It’s an aoe that “freezes” so they either get stuck, or leave and you make more space.
Yet another tank that can do everything Doom can, but better in every way lol just make Doom a dps again please, he's clearly a horrible fit for a tank
It’s also kinda hard to differentiate 1 hero from the other once you have over 40 of them in the game, some are bound to play similarly.

Yeah this looks absolutely horrendous from a balance perspective, it's real pathethic they need to make super powerful tanks.
Because no one already wanted to play Tank in the first Overwatch and not even do it now: you might as well try to have fun with the ability kits trying to make them fun, carry out playtests by releasing the heroes early and then carry out any buffs and nerfs.

He honestly looks like he's designed from the ground up to be for 6v6. He plays like an extremely selfish off tank with very little ability to defend his team.
My best bet is he's the first character designed for the 6v6 format again

I have been playing on every role, with every composition imaginable (rein zarya deathball, Korean Dive, Chineese dive, classic dive, Orisa bunker, hog-orisa, and everything in between), had my time playing with best of my country, been in contenders, and other half amateur local leagues (before Blizzard wanted money from running such leagues). Ive been a part of community that created e-sport for this game, before it was even told about in Blizzard. My friend was a Widow that was better than Kephri, and actually had been in friendly banter with him long time ago.
I had to make the decision of going full pro, since my zenyatta in ranked stats scored top 100 in the world once, but decided not to because ive seen what trajectory the game was on (still a bit salty because of that).
Lets say that average player back then, would be in masters today. Average player today is silver at best.
I know about the game more than most would like to believe, and since I am too a game developer, I can see what, and whats not working under the hood.
This tank either will be unplayable, or busted. There is no in between. And thats on 5v5 terms. 6v6 this tank will need coordination of the randoms in teams on such high level, that most of such games will be a stomp. It happened before, it will happen again, since the game never had enough changes in how heroes work.
So they added a Mei and Genji tank that looks like Sigma's lost brother

I mean, more or less, all heroes are op on their own. Especially if presented in a trailer against bots. The thing is that in a 5v5 setting EVERYONE is op ;) At least Hazard seems to have interesting and fun abilities, unlike Mauga.
Yeah... I'm sure the better way to sell this character and make them look appealing is to show them getting killed over and over. /s
Because he is op, every new hero is op until if they get hit with the Nerf bat two seasons later.

Anyone else notice that the last few tanks haven’t been quite so “tanky” and have really just been pumped up dps heroes- mauga, junker queen, and now hazard (based off only what’s been revealed of course)….as im writing this, Im thinking I guess it kinda makes sense that they are all being crafted towards what in OWog was an “off tank” since they are now… Los Lonely tANK.

Their philosophy with tanks lately seems to be less about about blocking damage straight up and more being a focal point. A part of me wonders if their planning on bringing back 6 v 6 and having offensive tank be a role.
They just wanna make every tank more offensive than defensive because they don’t want another shield meta, which is dumb because the shield meta was more playable than this trash
