New Ledge Attempts | Jigging 70 Foot Plus Slow Pitch & Bigger Swimbaits (Finger Lakes)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 июл 2024
- Started off fishing the mackinaw shad after a brutal storm rolled through on the finger lakes. Caught some lake trout jigging and upped it to the 4.5" EPS shad and then eventually settled on the same 20g slow pitch jig I was using in the last few videos.

These Finger Lakes videos always make me Upstate NY homesick.
I love my FL inshore fishing, but I miss those football-shaped brownies.
I wish my dad was still alive to see you jigging those lakers during the day. He would be all over that. He used to troll at night with lead line for them on Seneca Lake when I was a baby and decades later with downriggers. Simple & quiet jigging would have appealed to him.
I've done well on big mangrove snapper in Tampa Bay on my kayak with small slow-pitch jigs. It's a blast. 👍
Did your Dad ever pull copper or just lead line? My Dad and I in the 70's pulled copper, not real thrilling but WOW could you catch a ton of fish that way.
@@JoeGraveDancer He may have pulled copper too. He liked trolling, I leaned heavily toward fly fishing. Always think about him when I troll a plug or two behind my kayak on the way out/in. Easy way to score some Spanish Mackerel & sea trout.
YAAY! More Upstate NY freshie action. People have no idea how much fun deep jigging these big aggressive lakers is, but it's a blast. Big headshakes, thumping strikes and zooming runs for the bottom, just a hoot. We bagged a load of these bruisers on Champlain this week, and had a ball. Thanks for the variety, Elias!
A sweet batch of lakers!! These lakes are super interesting!! Thanks, Elias!!
I am always happy to see your videos but REALLY happy to see you fishing the finger lakes.
I learn from your videos EVERY time. I reel up way to slow compared to you after watching your last two videos.
Bummer that I just left there to fish 3 hours East in the Delaware river for native Rainbows and Browns and I just missed you.
Nice and very interesting!
I love slow pitch jigging. I was able to buy a lot from Asian Portal when I watched your video. They were on sale about $2 a jig. I use them in the Pacific Ocean and dang awesome jigs, but needed strong hooks due to way bigger fish in the ocean. I love your videos and thanks for sharing. I learned a lot from you.
Awesome video again. I'm so happy you replaced that googan net you used to have. 😆
Another good day on the water. Wonder where the Browns and Rainbows are hiding? Enjoy that weather ...
They are around. Not in crazy numbers this go.
Great video, you are the jigging man…..
Hi from Perth Western Australia. I noticed the slow pitch jig you were using are very simular to the Ocean's Legacy, Slow Pitch Roven jigs. 6grams to 25 grams. 9 colours available. All at $14.99 Australian. We ship all over the world.
'Nice fishing 👍👍
Nice!! Good size monsters trout. My second target species right here, love it. 👍
👍😎✌
TY Elias
There's a couple of companies selling 20g Slow pitch jigs here in the US, takes a bit of digging to find them though. I'm going to have to order some to add to my Laker box.
A few are out there.
King fishing is heating up inshore and nearshore here in NC
Another month up north.
Happy 4th of July
That first hookup brought back sturgeon memories! 😂
Get your butt back here to North Carolina!! Reds are chomping 😮 heading back home to Raleigh was down at Fort Fisher the whole morning and destroyed redfish💪
NO!!!! You have him all year long.
We Finger Lakes people want him here for awhile!!! 😊
Nice - going to be a bit before I get back into Nc inshore.
I'd pay Elias to put me onto some bowfin and kayak with him.
I'm having a hard time seeing the parallel between roadside ditch fishing for bowfin and jigging in 70 ft of water for lake trout. Don't know about the lake trout but the bowf in are very underrated.
Squirmy fish that are a bit moody. Tough jaw easy to drop them too.
😁
Great video! Do you ever eat the lake trout?
Not bad
Hey Elias, I've been curious about your landing net, what make and model is it?
Custom made.
I'd buy myself an EliasV Laker Slow Pitch Jig
some people prefer these videos Elias, just sayin'
I do prefer this sort of fishing if it were on my downtime vs algorithm stuff.
Take your limit home man, you paid for them with your license and there is no bether commercial for fish and wildlife then you. Good stuff man.
Yeah we just don’t need that many lakers. I hear ya though.
Where are the finger lakes located? Have a great day!!
Upstate New York
Any good for walleye?
Google Earth: Ithica, NY
Central New York. There are about 14 lakes running North to South grouped together. Up to 600+ feet deep.
Yes, great walleye fishing in some of them.
Central NY - each lake fishes quite a bit differently too.
Nah ! I don't even enjoy the look of those things !
Hahaha
Have to be pretty honest.... I dont care to much for all these northern fishing videos.
I hear ya on that. Less exciting for sure.
@@KENDOSLICE100 I love the Northern fishing videos! Everyone has their own opinions for sure.
Catching a 40+ pound fish on a fly rod or pulling a massive fighting fish out of 180 fow from a kayak in the fall with orange, red, pink and yellow leaves on the trees can't be beat.
I love em
