In new brunswick on the Northumberland stright and all bodies of water draining in to it. You are not allowed to use treble hooks. If fishing for strip bass it has to be a single barbless hook on the Northumberland side. Meaning single hook and pinch your barb. $300 fine for not having the barb pinched. Not sure what the fine is for a treble hook. 50-65cm 19.7- 25.6 inch is the your keeping category on the Northumberland side. If you were to fish in the bay of fundy the keeper size is 67-150cm and are allowed to use barbed hooks. Should check the regulations in the bodies of water your looking to fish before heading there.
I have been so pumped for this episode. I got the notification when I sat down to tie some flies at the fly shop where I work and knew this would be my background video
Thanks for this great northern adventure video Rich. This is a multi watch feature for sure. And nostalgically speaking your early youtube material from your college days are my all time favorites! I know about your family roots around Montauk but those videos from the bridges in RI and the jetties in Galilee are still Gold! You are awesome.
great to see such small bass 12:20. that's obviously one of the places they're born now. i grew up on one of the smaller rivers and there's a remarkably small amount of micros. every spring we would get on tiny bass. now the early fish are bigger and the micros, if they're there, seem afraid of the major feeds. when there are tons of micros, the fishing gets amazing down the road. definitely worries you, but it's good to see where they're being born.
I'm doing the same thing man. Leaving tomorrow from PA and driving to jupiter florida. Fishing that evening then getting up and sending it for a week in marathon. Can't wait! First time ever fishing there or being there period. All new species too lol. Ok time to watch this video.
Loved this one Rich. Beautiful solitude, and determination paid off. Got some nice fish in an area you never fished as well as a ton of play size. Keep it coming. I can't wait till you go to Alaska!!
Rich come to Plymouth mass with your kayak this summer. The bunker schools are very thick on the beaches and there are 51”+ cows under them, it’s been really fun out here. But there is also other places here on the cape that are really good to. Just something to keep in mind if you wanted to make a change in scenery
Im in boston and the fishing has been amazing the last 5 or 6 years but this year they seem to be staying down in cape cod bay. I may be down in plymouth myself soon if they dont move north. The bunker schools r here but not alot of fish on them
Wow what a beautiful area to fish. So very cool . I look forward to your next video from up north…. Man you can find the fish. Great adventure thanks for bringing us along. Cheers
Rich, thank you for this great video. Many of us don't have access to a half million dollar boat and a crew of Woo-Hoo boys. Even if we can't hop a flight to NB, we still can find somewhere to fish from shore.
Rich, your filmmaking skills are incredible. Not only are you an expert angler, but a talented videographer as well. I hope to make videos as great as yours one day. Much love and tight lines 🐟
As a native New Brunswicker I really enjoyed this episode. Days like that are a grind and you remind me a lot of myself when I was younger. I have litterally fished all of those spots except that last one. Wish I'd have known you were here I probably could have put you on some bigger fish. Hope you did better finding big fish in the next few days. Can't wait to see those episodes.
Welcome to Canada Rich, maybe one day you make it to Toronto and I can take out to a few of our local lakes in Ontario for some great fresh water fishing. Tight lines!
Hey Bud , hello from a Canadian subscriber! Welcome to Canada! I would say catching the stipers swinging a fly just like swinging for salmon or trout is an unique and amazing experience
Where RUclips introduced me to you. Catching Stripers in Montauk. Great to see you back up in the Northeast! Canada is a beautiful place! Lets go! My challenge in Montauk in Oct. awaits you :)
Love the video. Here is a suggestion for your next trip north: Anticosti Island. It sits in the middle of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, it only has a few hundred inhabitants even though it is a 100 miles long, and at one point it was the largest privately owned island in the world. It has over a 100 thousand whitetail deer (hence it is a hunters paradise), no bears, but it also has Atlantic Salmon fishing and other species. It is owned by the parks dept. of the government of Quebec and there are outfitters you can book for fishing. It has always been on my bucket list and one of these days I will make it there, but you can Google it. It is pristine, it is wilderness and the sea at its best. It would be a truly out of the way adventure relatively close to home.
On the first evening you were throwing the same color spook that we are throwing right now on the Cali coast for these line strippers! I have 4 down so far, my cousin has at least 20 and another guy is working towards 35! Monterey Bay coast line up to Santa Cruz banging nice striped fish. Anywhere from 6-30 pounds! I’m still looking for double digit fish. My PB was 30 years ago, 2 14 pound fish on pencil popper!
Great video! Living in Jersey now. Hopefully will move down south some day after school. I’ve actually caught more snook than stripers lol cause the shore is not close to my house in Jersey.
Great video, I'm hoping to see some evening fishing on the bay as the view can be very nice on sunset. I would like to point out to potential visitors to check out the laws before fishing the gulf region as the lures used in this video are prohibited (should be only barbless single hooks). Sadly, the laws also change every year regarding what kind of gear can be used for fishing striped bass in the gulf region.
Hey man! Ive been watching for a long time and wanted to tell you that you are my favourite fishing channel on the Tube! More importantly my 4 year old son loves fishaholic, he asks for your channel by name. Thanks for the awesome videos! Does your merch ship to Ireland?
I am up in the space coast and recently started getting back into fishing after a stent in the army and I have to blame you for me now buying a kayak to kayak fish lol
Hi Rich Awesome video I’m coming to Fort Stuart at the end of August to meet up with a guy I met in Panama. Was hoping maybe the 3 of us can go fishing together Any chance?🙏🙏
Fab video. Question: you grew up in New England. Since being in south FL, do you find it chillier than what you thought was "normal" when you return to the northern climes? Asking as one who grew up in FL - then moved to the Midwest. It's been 20 years and not sure I have totally acclimated. However, when I go home, the first few days I am like - man its so hot. lol
You finding it more difficult to find access to fish 🎣 nowadays? In NC…spots were so limited for shore anglers aside from slinging a rod in the ocean/beachfront
That is so illegal it's single barbless hooks only 500$ dollar fine we already have people like that but the fact that people watch your videos to learn to go fishing and your promoting illegal fishing techniques just wow
And yes, every time you post a video early, as always, coffee, joint. My dog and a fishaholic video!! Cheers
Cool
Life is short. Appreciate the little ones like the big ones.

When you’re done there, come a few thousand Kilometres west and fly fish here in beautiful Fernie BC!!
Seems like scene from horror movie, the fog and the light so beautiful
Be there in September on cruise and Spanish mackerel were in bays at that time last I was there.

Hey angler friend..your not far from me..iam in Bathurst N.B. come my way..stripers are in here..and lots!!!

Any particular reason you keep your top waters with trebles instead of switching to inline hooks?
Come to melbourne florida ! We have great fishing here
If you ever in CT and want to catch salt water Brooke trout give a shout
what a day, are stripers easier to catch beach fishing than snook, which species do you prefer to catch.
An upload not on a Sunday??? Let’s go!!!!
Your favorite? I can hear Tarpon crying right now.
😂😂😂😂
Should hook up with Skinner on the North Fork
Been wanting apparel with that logo for 1.5 years now. Please restock! Thank you

Is it just me or are those stripers a lot darker up there?
Your thumbnail said your favorite fish is a boring stripper. ? It must hot in Florida all the fair weather fisherman are filming up north
That is so illegal it's single barbless hooks only 500$ dollar fine we already have people like that but the fact that people watch your videos to learn to go fishing and your promoting illegal fishing techniques just wow
