Honestly, this video sealed the deal for me! I’m getting one! Great to see humane conditions in factories.
Well done, sir.
I've seen this video after owning a Cup One for over a year now. Best purchase I have ever made regarding Coffee Makers. Absolutely worth the money and to see how it is produced makes it even better. Thanks guys and thanks Moccamaster!
Just got a moccamaster with a metal carafe and a baratza encore. It’s worth it guys. It really is. I love waking up.
I bought my moccamster 741 over 20years ago and it's still working like it was bought yesterday, making very good coffee. Very good quality.
Good to hear that, Johnny.
Admirable and a testament to being family run that they still care about producing in the Netherlands and even buy most parts in europe.
These days it's almost impossible to find house appliances that are not put together in asia to maximize the profit margin.
Hope their efforts will always be rewarded and they never go into the stock market.
I don’t mind spending the kind of money spent knowing the quality of parts used, handy assembly and being manufactured in Europe.
Highly unlikely that the money that this coffee maker costs will be spent on the same coffee maker if it was made in China.
@Silver Shamrock my colleague at Work got one 2 years ago. Since about a year we switched cpmpanys and here it runs basically no stop Five days a week.
No warning whatsoever. Also the coffee, even from a cheap grinder is Miles above even a good fully automatic machine, or a cheap drip coffee maker.
Going to school now we pitched in and getting the same machine. About 5-6 full batches a day, no problem. My classmates where skeptical about the price tag but after two weeks have been convinced by the taste
@Silver Shamrock I don’t know where you go to read your reviews, but from my experience and experience of others I’ve talked to, I can’t agree with you whatsoever.
@Silver Shamrock You get a 5 year warrenty on this coffee maker, so it should be all right.
@@az5654 You probably will burn through 5 Chinese made Coffee makers in the five years this one is warranted. We are awaiting delivery of our unit soon. Also the fact that they have the Gold Standard certification in Europe is also a plus for them. The plastic grading parts that people have spoke about is no suprise as every manufacturer in the World in all areas of electronics is struggling to keep costs down and they are no exception. However, what I do like is how they go about building these machines. This takes me back to a time when we in North America had factories that built things such as these to last. The fact that they do not let any machine leave the assembly line that is not working and send it back to be taken apart and replacing defective components, you will not find that in any Chinese made Coffee Makers on the market today. If experience with buying Chinese made electronics has taught us anything is that they build them to last as long as the sand in an hour glass.
I'm hunting for a coffee maker at least for last 6 month. You’ve just helped me to make a final decision. I’m getting Moccamaster.
It was great to see this passionate family with a simple philosophy of doing what they are good at - coffee makers. I feel like there is a sense of minimalism and sustainability behind their philosophy and I will be happy to join them on it.
Feels like this coffee maker has ability to stay with me for a lifetime, because of quality and the fact it can be repaired.
Good job guys on making this interesting film.
Got mine for $15 at a thrift store. That was a good day.
I have 3 moccamasters and (1 at home and 2 at the office) i will never buy anything else. Its simply the best!
Thats it, I’m making the jump. Too many cheap coffee makers in my life and this is a company that I am happy to support. A win-win
Thank you for the video. I got mine yesterday with the thermal carafe and already brewed two pots. I love it. It was nice to see the care and quality that went into it.
Proud and very very happy owner here in Denmark! My machine has 7 years and still as new! Easy to find spare parts... a very sustainable and responsible product!
very happy with this quality product. proud the be a Dutchman!
The workers seem so happy.
It’s a simple, beautiful and very efficient coffee maker which truly makes a perfect cup of coffee. I don’t drink lots of coffee but when I do I want a perfect cup and that’s what Moccamaster gives me.
Just a little tip: Run 4oz of clean cold water through the Moccamaster to vacate the cold water above the boiler; that rinses the paper filter that ultimately pre-warms the carafe. Really necessary for the stainless steel vacuum carafe. Nice to see the copper heating element out of the machine in this video.
It may cost more than other drip coffee makers but the 5 year warranty is industry leading. You will never regret buying quality.
best coffee make I ever owned and my kids now are finally asking me for their own for their homes as they grow past 18 years old - thanks to Moccamaster and for this video guys
Orderd one becouse use to drink coffee from this machine at my grandma’s house.
I have a KBT I bought more than 6 years ago. Easily my favourite kitchen appliance.
We bought a Moccamaster last year from our local coffee roaster on Vancouver Island, Canada. We love our Moccamaster and like they said in the video, we have "a friend for life".
My first mochamaster coffee maker arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait!! Great video!!!
Excellent, I can't wait until I can afford to get my first one! I want the original blue one!
Loved the video, good work guys! Proud to be a Moccamaster family member and see my grandpa's work shine in your video 😃
Hello Floortje! It is great hearing from you, we hope to meet your grandpa some day.
Your grandpa did an amazing job! I have a pink 741 and couldn't be happier with it. Thanks
Amerongen FTW!
I really like these machines. Especially because they are so easy to use. You just put in water and grounds and flip a switch. Can be automated really well with cheap smart outlets as well.
Groetjes uit Veenendaal!
I’ve owned so many coffee makers. Been using my 741 for three years now. Definitely a friend for life 🥳
Thank you for the video, so nice to see the factory and all the people behind this coffee maker. Things are not handmade very often so it is nice to still see this in our current times. Plus, being able to repair the maker is great instead of throwing it out.
Buy a Moccamaster and a good grinder and you'll never regret it.
Just got the moccamaster and a virtuouso grinder.. 👍 I think I'm ready for some great coffee ☕.. Any advice on a great medium roast
Baratza Virtuoso!
I don't what it is about appliances but, getting to see early appliances and learn of their history is fascinating. It is very good to see things have remained true to their roots. My Moccamaster has been in service over 15 years and is solid and consistent. It's a pita to clean certain parts of it but gosh, is it good!
I love love love my moccamaster KBG 741. It’s been brewing me excellent coffee for the last 10 years, so I guess it’s a new one ❤
Fun fact: knowing a thing or two about production the founder realised early on that to strive for absolute perfection was inefficient because of course there will always be something left to improve but he also didn’t want to compromise. This weighed heavily until one day he stumbled upon an elegant solution by insisting the European Coffee Brewing Centre labels applied to the front of the machine were all crooked. “Here is the imperfection” he would be fond of telling people pointing to the small casually placed sticker; “everything else is perfect”.
(None of that is true - but I’ve seen lots of crooked ECBC labels, so... maybe it is!)
Nice story!
I just bought a Moccamaster and I am waiting for it to arrive. This was a great video! Thanks a bunch.
Super video. Thank you. Ordering in a few minutes. I have a space to fill at the side of my ECM Synchronika. I'm sure they will make a great pair.
I just got mine!! bronze she is beautiful! .. When I was in Denmark the apt, we stayed at had one. All I kept thinking was When I get home I am going to get one!! I LOVE IT. Makes the coffee taste as good as the beans smell... never bitter or sour.
I got 2 of these, one in my house and one in the office. beautiful machine. A real friend for life 😊
I was lucky to find one on Craigslist (used, 7 years said the seller). I paid $25. My husband said, "Look there's a Ninja for sale too for $50." We bought both, I love the Moccamaster! The Ninja constantly does the 5 beeps of death, look it up.
Great video love to see where my machine was made and now lives in Australia.
Just ordered mine now, cant wait!
I will definitely order one!! Awesome thanks guys. Hello to all staff in the factory!
i ordered one today. i cannot wait to try it out. i love the philosophy and the history behind it. it’s great that it’s made in europe and it is wildly regarded as the best coffee maker and one of few certified by ECBC and SCA. i cannot wait. nothing makes me happier then an excellent cup of coffee in the morning 😊
LOVE my Moccamaster
I finally bought a Moccamaster and, out of interest, their grinder too. Initially, it didn’t make much sense, because in small batch grinding, it isn’t super efficient. I soon realised that keeping the beans in the machine was part of the design. It’s also extremely efficient at grinding larger quantities. In fact it feels more like a coffee shop grinder than a domestic unit. I run a small photography studio in part of my house, and this thing can keep up with the litres of coffee the girls put away, and it does it very quietly!
this was so cool to see! thanks for showing us the inside view. love my moccamaster.
Such a great video, thanks gentlemen
I appreciate your videos. Thanks 🙏🏻!
Great job, thanks!!
Watching this whilst having a nice cup from my loved KBGT 741♥
Nice!!
We bought one this past summer and can tell you it is well worth the cost, excellent brew!
Proud owner of a 2003 model 741 and it still looks like it was new! Great quality in every detail.
+Jakob Nordin yeah, good to hear! We have a new machine but we hope it will last for a long time.
Dear Jakob, Great to hear that your machine still looks like on the first day. A lot of our clients have the Moccamaster 20 years or more in use. :-) Happy brewing! Your team from Moccamaster Sales
Absolutely thrilled with mine!
Love the KBGV Select...
Awesome vid. Love looking at coffee brewer factory.
Thank you so much Jim!
I love mine, I can't believe I did't buy one years ago, THE BEST!
Very interesting video. Good quality control I have the mocha master when not trade it for anything! It’s the best coffee maker I’ve ever had and believe you me I’ve had many many many!
This is the best coffee maker i have ever owned and the best tasting coffee
I just got a moccaserver and its a beast
I just bought one. Honestly I had never seen one before. One look at it and I knew I had to have one. Fortunately I'm also assured that they make great filter coffee.
Bought one 5 seconds ago! Cant wait.
I have had a faulty MoccaMaster straight from the package. I put the water in, put the plug in the socket and was about to do that first rinse they recommend to do in the manual. Then turned the machine on.. waited waited and nothing happened. After about 5 min I started to smell burnt insulation smell from wiring. And that was it. Warranty worked and I got a new one which is still making my morning coffee after 20 yrs. No need to upgrade.
I want the vintage 1968! So cool...
I have 2 Moccamasters in my coffee brewer collection. Moccamaster should bring back the original machine to market.
Nordic countries were mentioned. Finland keeps world record in coffee consumption per capita, about 13kg per finn per year.
And Moccamaster is considered here as "The Coffeemaker" when it comes to drip coffee makers. Needless to say that even I have one. Quality never goes out of fashion :)
We will be ordering a couple !!
I love my Moccamaster!
Got my KBG741 yesterday.. i live in The Netherlands and did not even know about this lovely brand but i'm a fan now. Got my freshly roasted coffee in from Blanche Dael. And my first 6cups of coffee this morning.. in one word Awsome !6cups in less then 2min or something it was so fast and great taste.. Enjoyed your coverage guys and i'm proud to buy European build and assembled locally i agree with the text on the box from Gerard C. Smit saying life is too short for bad coffee.!
Dear TuxKey, Thanks for becoming a new fan! We hope you will enjoy your Moccamaster and the best coffee for many years!
Lucky guys. This is just as I imagined the factory to be. I have had the 741 for 10 years now.
Wow, that's amazing! A truly timeless machine :)
A product designed by an engineer, built by humans and tested before shipping. I want to invest in this company, not to make a buck but because I want them to thrive
After seeing one of these on ATK, I quickly added it to my Amazon wish list! Not sure if/when I'll ever get my hands on one of them, but it's definitely given me something to aim for!
Aim for? Do you have a job?
This morning I asked my self - where is my Moccamaster built? I am so happy I asked! TIL: Technivorm is not a feature, it's a company!
Haha, nice! We know that Technivorm is a brand, I am not we talked about in a wrong meaning but it could happen 😅 cheers!
We also made an article on the history of the brand: europeancoffeetrip.com/history-of-moccamaster
A nordic house is not a nordic house without a Moccamaster.
I really liked this video. I know it's a little older, but still cool to see how it's made. I am debating a Bonavita Enthusiast or Moccamaster KBT/KBTS. Thanks for the video.
Best Company in the World!
Very cool video! :)
Thank you Ladislav!
great vid watched twice
Thank you!
I don't drink coffee and you just sold me on one.
My wife and Stepdaughter and coffee drinkers.
Tak sme sa dočkali😁😁😁
Jasne! Libi se video?
Had KBG741-AO antracite colour almost 9 years now. Expensive (150€) but good.
moccamaster is the best
Hello Guys, great video and great know-how of TechniVorm thank you!
We speak a lot of the MoccaMaster but TechniVorm has several products, what do you think of the others? Especially the KBGT741 which as the advantage of the isothermal pot.
Dear Christophe, Thanks for your interest in Moccamaster. KBGT 741 vs KBG 741: We advise the KBGT 741 if you usually make 8-10 cups of coffee or for small offices. The coffee will then stay hot for more than 1 hrs. If you have more questions just have a look at our website www.moccamaster.eu or contact us at info@moccamaster.nl
Please produce more orange units! All out of stock in USA
Does the mocha master use the water in the reservoir immediately or is there water sitting around the copper heater at all times?
Thanks.
I received my machine a week ago and have been using it every day. Sometimes twice a day! I noticed something that seems like a design flaw. When the machine is at its normal operating temperature (which is very not), the plastic reservoir lid deforms to where it no longer sits flat on the water reservoir. I believe this has to do with the very close proximity of the plastic lid to the 9-hole water outlet arm. Once the machine cools this plastic lids then returns to its normal shape, where it can then rest flat on the water reservoir. This "heat/deform" and "cool/reform" of this plastic lid does not seem like it was designed into the machine. I was wondering if this issue is well known? If so, has Moccamaster done anything to correct this problem?
Finally received my Mochamaster. Super excited! Now I need to find an outstanding burr coffee grinder. Any suggestions? Need equivalent quality!
Well, we use Comandante Grinder but check our video where we show differences between budgets: ruclips.net/video/MyS9FTbJJ7o/видео.html
Check out Wilfa Uniform Black. Use it together with my Moccamaster everyday.
1- I wonder if the break room has a Bunn
2- I wonder if Christmas time is very predictable by the employees family
3- the glass display looks like my local thrift shop
4- I’ll take mine in Orange, please.
5- (bonus) I wonder if the place smells like coffee or pumpkin spice latte.
This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
Made my decision a bit easier. I have one on the way now.
Is there an iconic Moccamaster colour? I’m tempted to say orange for obvious reasons. Any suggestions? If it was a car what would be its quintessential colour?
pink for sure
Do I want the glass or the thermal jug? I drive 2-3 large cups of coffee per day and I love good coffee.
You must get one of each because you can never really be sure.
Thermal, of course.
Hi guys bit of an update.. Last time i commented i had just got my MoccaMaster in.
After getting the KBGT741 with glass carafe because my electric MokaPot was overheating my coffe and it tasted bitter. Granted i used normal supermarket coffee still a well known brand dutch brand called "douwe egberts" but unlike most i knew that there is no such thing as fresh coffee when buying it from a supermarket that doesn't roast it for you.. Looking in to what coffee is and how one should / could drink it. i found out that it's best to consume it inside 4weeks after it has bin roasted. obviously anything shorter would be better. The whole story / fable behind grinding it last minute is just meant to confuse us as consumers. No need to have a PhD to understand that after you cook/roast something the clock starts ticking on how long it lasts. only thing i did find is that it's arguably / debatable that not grinned roasted coffee could possibly hold more oils then the grinned variety.
So i have gone all out hahaha.. from €12 ($15) per kilo coffee (35ounce) i went to double the price around €24 (shipping ads €5 so that's why)
And now i weigh my coffee. The MoccaMaster is amazing.. The taste / smell of real fresh coffee is amazing..
only real problem i have is that i probably need to buy the one cup machine because when i'm alone it's to big.. And the one cup machine is the like the same price as the bigger one..
Also the one shown here has the basket that is suited for less cups.. i only brew 4cups max at one time.. for my wife and me.. the min would be 2cups it's doable but i don't know if the brew time would be correct brewing at those levels..
Living in Scandinavia with Moccamasters all around and some of the highest consumption of coffee in the world I can tell you that buying fancy coffee to complement the Moccamaster is not the point, the point is that the Moccamaster will brew the most decent version of whatever supermarket coffee you have - and fast! If you buy really good coffee and don't want to waste it you could consider hand brewing it.
You mentioned brew time, I seem to remember that a Moccamaster should spend about 5-6 minutes no matter the amount of water, something to do with weight and gravity, its a feature of this kind of brewer. The water goes a bit faster than 5 minutes, but you should cut off the drip from the filer after 6 minutes to not get overly sour coffee.
@@paradoxregina my point was not buying fancy coffee the point i was making was regarding freshness and when the clock would start ticking. What is fresh coffee. and if you would buy cheap coffee and roast it and consume it within a 4 to 6week window it could be considered fresh. So if Supermarket would write the roast date that would be good enough for me.. Your point about large amount of consumption also holds true here in the Netherlands but that sill doesn't mean any one looked deeper in to what coffee is and how tastes could change.. Don't forget marketing plays a big roll we are told what to like and where put our attention. you know what i mean .. buy a coffee grinder for nice fresh coffee .. but now one asks what is fresh when it comes to coffee ;-) when it comes to brew time i have not really looked in to it to be honest with you thanks for pointing it out.. interesting stuff. MoccaMaster is rather fast perhaps a bit too fast who knows.. After several months of usage i do notice when my coffee starts to get old i notice the taste difference for sure. and i prefer my coffee not to get to old..
Not suprised they have sold so many to scandinavia :D
Yeah, they are so big on filter coffee.
Yes, Yes we are. And we are proud of our history of drinking amazing drip coffee. :-)
The upgraded shower head still doesn't evenly saturate the coffee beyond brewing half a liter. The pour is very center based. Which is not the best for extraction. You have a big hole in the middle while the coffee on the outside doesnt get as saturated during extraction. Quick stir in the first minute usually solves this issue but this should be improved with design.
No issues with mine. It's fairly new and has the stainless steel 9 hole shower head. Works like a charm
Grind type and filter paper choice can play a role in this issue as well. With the KBT, if needed, I briefly shut off the brew basket drain and allow the rounds to saturate, stir, and then open the basket drain. Works for me.
Väga hea kohvimasin! Hind Prismas 179 €
Dude looks like Terrence Stamp!
01:13 the moment when Geert Wilders sells you a coffee machine XD
This or sage precision brewer ? Anyone ? 🙏
Haha, thinking of making this comparison later this year:)
@@EuropeanCoffeeTrip Thanks for the rapid reply! 🙏 appreciated. I’m looking forward to it and I’m sure many others are too. Thanks again and hope you have an amazing year ahead of you 🙏🧿🙌
❤️ ™️
Everything about this coffee maker is great except the shower head. When you brew half a liter it's okay. But in a full batch 1 - 1.25 liters the pour is center heavy and the outside layer of coffee doesn't get saturated. Wish that piece was redesigned.
Good point. We may try to get this over to the company. I guess you already stir it if you do bigger batches but if not, this can produce the better results.
You know what they say! If it ain’t Dutch, it ain’t much 😁
Just curious why there was a German flag hanging in the factory.
probably because their guests that day were German?
Are you listening Moccamaster there in Holland. Some of us think you are "resting on your laurels" !! the 70's production laurels. You are rightly producing an exceptional machine with wonderful results. As its made by hand using expensive qualified experienced labour its not cheap at around 255 eur in France.
You are waiting for my criticisms patiently. They have been raised before but you then did not seem concerned?
The quality of the plastics are, to be polite, cheap and flimsy.
The lock mechanism is inclined to stick.
The stop system can fail and sometimes needs re setting. Needs re-designing
The excellent Stainless steel carafe (which I have) does not have a specific pouring directional spout. It can be messy pouring. The glass carafe is also rather thin
just to be picky (really picky actually), I've seen that the cold water container, that is a part that you wont be able to wash easily, basically because is a fixed part attached to the column and the copper boiler, is touched by the inside with naked hands for several persons, It would be great to clean it afterwards (that maybe they do, but we just haven't seen it 😂) or use gloves on this stage of the assembly line at least. Other than that is everything great!! I want it!
Edited: I've seen in minute 6:32 they are cleaning it with a cloth and pledge cleaner spray, but this is not a sanitizer process for me, it seems to be erasing any finger print or so.
Breville precision brewer beats moccamaster on any day. Hands down. Breville is doing something right, which moccamaster has no clue about.
