Hello! Do you have any idea if Comandante have changed or upgraded their grinder parts for the past two years? What is the difference of the grinders today compared to the ones they sold for the past two years? Thanks!
The grinder was too expensive for me, but seeing this video makes me appreciate and want it. The money isn't going to fat cat ceo but to small crafts man and high quality materials. Fantastic! It's a work of art.
I can appreciate that but it’s absurd to pay this much just because it’s made in a different country. EU products are overrated, same auality can be bought in china because the prices there are way more acceptable. EU is expensive for crappier service. You don’t need to support overpricing. Companies will fall and prices will go where they should. We’ll never be in a crisis in which we can’t afford nothing because when we reach that point, we’ll just produce internally for the correct price.
Mad request(s). 1.5 click version of that rod (cause Red clix is too much and standard is not enough), just would love half-way Ti coated burrs (preferably user replaceable) with slow(ish) grinding geometry Test if its possible to make synthetic corundum blades. Could be interesting. And thanks for making amazing grinders, definitely love my Ironheart.. with all my heart. :D
They truly are a work of art, engineering and craftmanship. Since I moved to Germany I miss the electric grinders I left at my home country, so I will definitely get one of these when better times come.
This is the kind of products I'd like to do my small part in supporting. No squeezing the last possible margin, no outsourcing to countries with substandard labour and environmental law and poor working conditions. Videos like this are so important because they are compelling reminders that cost and quality should not be the only criteria that matter when making a purchase.
“Be humble, work very hard, listen to your clients, enjoy what you do and put all your energy into it.” This man has all his priorities in order, great life lesson, great video!
I had two issues with my C40: the 1st one was my fault given the fact that the handle felt of my table and the plastic lid broke. The 2nd was the knob that was no longer held in place as the inner snap-in mechanism was broken. Both problems have been solved by the after sales department of BB coffee company and I received replacing parts free of charge within 2 days. I'm quite impressed by and am happy having bought a highend product of a company focused on customer satisfaction. My thanks go out again to Natalie.
I won't lie; I'm a cheapskate if I can be. Learning about coffee and the equipment to make it has really helped me begin to understand the value of the products and realise that the prices aren't insane for what you get at the end. Seeing all the pieces (and faces) put together helps it make sense and puts it in context. Thank you for making this video.
I'm was thinking a Comandante but it felt quite expensive for a hand grinder. After i saw this passion and dedication how they do grinders handmade (and not in a country with cheap labor) it didn't feel expensive anymore. I got mine a few weeks ago.
Grinding my coffee in a Commandante every morning is more satisfying then getting to drink the end result...even though the coffee comes out perfect everytime.
Just buy it, you won’t regret it. It’s a fantastic work of engineering. I am on the road traveling for work and this Grinder has changed my life. I would like to see comandante improve their distribution. They could probably sell many more units if they did. On the one hand I do like it that select coffee roasters and distributors sell it. But it’s kind of an Easter egg hunt. Turkish coffee guy in New Orleans does a good job with online orders but he’s about the only reliable online distributor in America. I bought a felt sleeve for the grinder from him and the red clix. I would have bought it initially but it was not available at the coffee shop that sold them and it was hard to find for sale online.
What did I learn from the video? That being passionate about what you do is what really matters. There is a saying: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Bernd Braune has worked for several giant companies, but it seems his heart found the right place when he started his own business. He shows love for what he creates and we could feel it. All so whimsically well done and still handcrafted! An exquisite work. I loved! ❤️
I don't have an Comandante yet... But I've learned a lot and specialty things that are important for me: vision, how and where it's made, philosophy and much more. Will probably get one very soon. The European Coffee Trip!
Just got mine yesterday. After using a number of other hand grinders, I can happily report that I’m blown away at the cup the c40 produces. So happy right now!
I was really thinking hard about spending $250 USD on one of these, but after watching the video, I am going to pull the trigger (if I can find one). Bernd's passion and path of trying to make the best product is very refreshing. The amount of craftsmanship is so impressive and beautiful. Can't wait to be an owner and get my hands on one of these!
Bought mine last night and I'm SUPER excited. Also upgraded with the Red Clix RX35 so I can grind super fine for espresso. I am sure I won't be disappointed and it's worth every penny. 🔥
@@bobbyomari5500 i'm also thinking about buying this to upgrade from my Hario Skerton Plus. are you enjoying it ? I was wondering if i should buy a comandante instead of a big electric grinder and after watching this video, I felt like i really wanted the comandante instead of an electric grinder :D
@@Hazelminker I have upgraded from my C40 to a Niche Zero grinder and haven’t looked back. But if I did, I would certainly say a NZ is worth it for how much I can do with it. The Comandante is still with me and will use it for small grinds but for espresso it can be a lot of work and difficult to do back to back shots. We do a lot of espresso at home, so it’s just not as quick and easy to use. I would suggest the C40 as more of a daily driver for pourover, but if you plan on using it for espresso then maybeeeee an electric burr grinder is better suited. That being said, the C40 is a fantastic product that’s built so well and very high quality. I certainly will be using it as a backup in case my NZ has an issue or something. Hope that helps!
This video helped in my decision to buy a C40. Loved the passion and expertise of the team, the grinder is incredibly well designed, engineered and just works. My daughter already wants to inherit it from me 👍
Thanks for the video, now we know Comandante is worth the price not just to grind coffee. The scientist development and the process of the wood surface are full of professional and love in their product.
