It should be noted that: only one model (the "Select") has the half-pot switch. On a positive side, other Moccamaster models do come with a thermal carafe instead of a hot plate. All Moccamasters have similar builds and internal parts, though. So there are options!
We are proud owners of a now 10 year old Moccamaster, And in those 10 years of being used at least once a day, not a thing broke or failed us, it just keeps on going like a champ, making one great batch of coffee after another, cheers ☕
I own this coffee maker also and I love it. I have left coffee on the burner for up to half an hour and I did not notice much of a difference in the taste of the coffee like I have in other coffee makers. I have always felt like the thermo carafes change the taste of the coffee a little bit, but that’s just me. This makes the best drip coffee.
Dude. I begrudgingly bought one of these a few months ago after my wife continuously complained I was taking too much time making pour overs. I spent years trying to perfect my pour over technique. I hate this machine for making me feel like I wasted years of my life. The coffee (on average) that it produces easily matches what I was producing with my Commandante and Orea V3. I can’t explain it. I do find that giving it a little stir during bloom can help with extraction. I also find that keeping the lid on during the brew is key. Other than that, it’s flawless. I hate that I love it so much. I echo all your sentiments. Great vid.
mike, i just recently started to put the drip stopper on and let the hot water sit with the coffee. i then stir it , i do this two times during brewing.......to me, i find that the coffee is even better tasting this way.......
here in Finland the Moccamaster is a household stable you can find ANYWHERE, so i've had my fair share of experience with them aswell as growing to like the coffee it produces, much better than most popular batch brewing alternatives. They usually have a manual drip lock on the filter cone, which in my experience seems to never work properly for some reason so glad to see theres a model of this legendary brewer that seems to have upgraded the drip lock system. Like you said also, one of the things I dont like about it is the plastic peripherals that feel really cheap, even though they usually last pretty long regardless. I wish Moccamaster would make alternative peripherals in more premium materials to be purchased separately, for example. Great video as always, too!
This is my daily driver. Moccamaster and Ode Gen 2. I rarely get better coffee at any local coffee shop. I like the Moccamaster for all the things you mention. It’s simple and makes great coffee. Love the Pistachio color. I now wish I got that.
I have had my Moccamaster for 18 years, I use quality water, descale when needed, I have never had an issue or anything break. Ruler flat 200 degree brewing temperature, start to finish.
I don’t know how it does this, but it’s unbelievable, it’s been one month. I’m using this machine, and I feel the huge difference between the other ones and this one. Satisfaction guarantee 👍🏼
I Highly agree. I generally do a V60 or an Aeropress but if we have guests over, I usually go with the Moccamaster. It's a solid brew and it doesn't feel like I'm "wasting beans". As a bonus, I don't have to stand in the corner meticulously trying to maximize extraction while guests/friends wait awkwardly. Though, I wonder how the Chemex Compares. That's the one I use for 3-6 people.
For the hot plate I use a silicon trivet ( hot pot pad ) to separate the carafe from the hot plate. Easy. I prefer brewing into glass so doing this trivet thing works great for me. If I want to reheat remaining coffee I simply remove the trivet. To level up the results of the brewer, I rinse the paper filter while it is in the funnel as one does with a pour over funnel. Then I add the grounds and brew. (Naturally, dispose of the water from the rinse before brewing.)
Hi from Malaysia! thanks for the awesome review! We use it at your cafe roastery too. Batch brews are not so popular in specialty coffee shops in Malaysia just yet and it has a negative perception on it. But we have been using this for close to 2 years now and boy are we happy to have it. What we were able to do with this tool was offer at wide range of single origin coffees to our customer, while still being able to charge them a afforadable price. As our barista do not have to be there constantly taking care of the brew unlike a traditional V60. It has so much more upside than downside. Everytime when our customer take the first sip for the mccomaster, they are pleasantly surprised by the brew quality. But I must admit that, there are certain coffees that are harder to extract, or more complex, does not do well with the mccamaster. Overall, this machine allows us to showcase our beans and single origin that we've roasted in an easy and simple manner. We might just have to do a review on it too :)
For the reason you mentioned in the video I bought the one with the thermos flask. Everybody: Heat the flask up before using. We are totally happy. We once bought a replacment lid for the flask.
I have the exact color you displayed. I had a Smeg before and it was a struggle. I now brew twice full pots a day and one especial from my Breville barista in the late afternoon. It brew fast and the aroma is just amazing. You are correct about the plastic parts and the carafe. Great discussion. Thank you for sharing
I guess part of the reason for the thin/cheap/flimsy plastic parts is that they have low heat retention and thus don’t affect the coffee bed while brewing. I have been eyeing the moccamaster select for a while now as I’d also like to have a brewer for more than two people for when we have friends over. And it’s certainly still on the list, but for the time being we just got a 6-cup Chemex for its aesthetics and because it’s a relatively low-budget batch brewer.
so would not really apply to their sturdy stainless steel carafe. Only complaint I have with it is No specific pouring spout for more directional use. Needs redesigning in this respect only. Are they listening to our valid quality control issues in Holland ? hmm, " resting on their laurels comes to mind" too much considering all the competion they face
I own two of these makers. I have tried everything, and this makes the most reliably great pot of coffee. Every time, and anyone, and I mean anyone can make it work. You are right about the quality of coffee is based on the beans. I know you didn't like the plastic, but if these parts were made of something else it adds costs in a place where you don't need too. The temp of the water is the miracle. And FAST. I had the thermal pot version, but really the hot plate is better. I also appreciate that you can get the parts. Yes it is fixable. Whether it is the pot or basket, it's available. I will not complain about the outrageous price of the pots in Canada, I think that is a market issue. I have dark blue and one in gold.
At 255 euros in Europe where they are made I certainly consider the machine expensive. Plastic quality is AN issue which the company has stubbornly refused to address. They are making a big mistake.
I love my Moccamaster! I don't use it nearly enough because I'm the only one drinking coffee in my house. I have the bright yellow one, it's fantastic!
yes thats the problem. I also want to get one but I only drink a cup of coffee a day so this machine is TOO BIG for a one person a day.... TOO PITY TO ME! I only use 14 g of ground coffee a day for a cup.
This is actually the reason that I bought the Moccamaster. It performs very well for even a single cup brew due to the conical shape. Flatbed Brewers typically struggle a lot in that regard, but the Moccamaster is great. Even has the lower flow mode for small batches
I appreciate your versatility, a breath of fresh air on quality tasting coffee in a drip brewer, Moccamaster says it all, superbly done video, love pistachio color
I just got mine after saving up a bit. I love the utily looks and the simplicity of it. I used to go to Dunkin but I sold my stores (yes) so I researched something to repicate the brew of Dunkin but I didn't want a huge BUNN unit in my kitchen. Coffee quality👉 Precise grind weight 👉and very high temp make the best coffee brews. I agree about the hot plate but if you don't drink your coffee in 18 minutes (when it starts to become acidic) buy a better coffee, make a smaller batch or buy an insulted carafe. Cheers! ☕
I have a Moccamaster that my parents bought me when I moved to my first apartment. That was in 2007. It's still just chugging away. I've only had to replace a pot once because I broke it.
I got the exact same model and color no less for my birthday last week. I've been struggling to dial in the grind size though. Still getting grinds in my pot. It's a beautiful appliance though.
Short testing period but you know what you’re looking for; I wouldn’t knock that. Also, there are plenty of great pour -overs that are on the thin plastic side, so I wouldn’t knock that either. Great real-world review and I’ll pick one up for holiday batch service. Thanks!
Love your chanel. I bought my Breville Machine based on your review. I currently have a bonavita 8 cup coffee maker with a capresso burr grinder. I have been happy with this setup for a long time but recently feel myself not enjoying my coffee as much as I used to. Do you have any thoughts on whether or not I'd get a better taste experience with the Moccamaster? Also, do you think getting a fellow ode grider just for Drip is worth it vs my capresso infinity?
Thanks for tuning in! I would start with the grinder, as that is the BIGGEST determining factor to flavor in the cup. The ODE has been and still is my top recommendation in this category. I say pick yourself up a new grinder to use with the Bonavita, and go from there :)
Love mine! Please don’t laugh folks but I must limit caffeine intake bc of medical reasons. So I use 5 scoops of Folgers Decaf and a scoop of espresso, and we find the results to be rather fine. I hear snickers, but it’s ok for us. I like this brewer so much that I want to spring for an additional color. And we will try some freshly ground higher quality coffee per the video. 😊
As long as it works for you, who cares what anyone else says. Nice! I'd encourage to give grinding the coffee fresh a try down the road. Could still use a custom decaf mix like you're doing, just with fresh coffee instead of pre-ground
What’s your ideal water/grounds ratio for a medium grind? Right now I’m doing a 1:1 cup-tbsp ratio and seems to be alright, but I’m curious to what you use for that comparison?
Did you pre-soak the paper filter before putting in the grounds? There’s a bit of an acidic taste in the coffee if I don’t pre-soak the mocha master paper filters.
I know you are using the Ode grinder, and that you have reviewed the Opus. Do you happen to have a suggestion for grind size on the Opus for the Moccamaster? I have the Opus and just got a Moccamaster. Great videos, man!
I bought smeg the coffee is delicious but the pb it is not hot enough if i put milk it became cold.im thinking of buying the mocca master . Does moccamaster made a hot coffee?
The pale pistachio colour is not even that bad. LOL I have spent a lot of time brewing various espresso based drinks and pour overs so I know what that feels like. While I got complimented I didn't really have much access to the conversation. Still fun to make that much coffee back to back. Batch brewing I have encountered has been pretty poor so it must have been the beans or may have been quite stale. Would have been interesting comparing it to a "current" batch brewer 🤔.
My Breville Precision insulated carafe will keep the coffee hot for near 3 yours. Today after 2 hours and 35 minutes, it was near as hot as it was first brewed. Another reason to buy the Breville over the Moccamaster. The look of the gas pump sold this dude.
I’m between this model and the one cup they make. I really only need a 10 oz glass at a time for a quick energy boost before the gym. But I’ve heard poor reviews on the one cup. Would it be overkill to get the 10 cup maker? For just a cup here and there?
The "cups" are really only 125mL, so this unit fully maxed out will get 5 actual sized cups. I've used it plenty for single 250mL cups and it behaves really well. Flexibility to do large or small batches is actually why I got the Moccamaster in particular. As mentioned, it even has a switch to change the flow rate for small batches.
I have a very old Technivorm Mocca King. I desperately want to keep it going but the plastic container that holds the filter is broken. I also do not have any of the original pots. Can you help at all?
@Lifestyle Lab have you tried the Bonavita Enthusiast as that is what I want to compare against the Moccamaster.? They as of today are out of stock even with Bonavita..
The kicker for us with thermal/hotplate was eventually because of looks, the hotplate one looks right proportionally but the thermal version while maybe objectively better it’s subjectively worse looking to me.
I have a moccamaster and the new esp encore. What grind setting do you recommend for medium body coffees? I started with a 28 and I am trying something a bit different every few days.
I recommend doing exactly what you’re doing. Just need to dial in to taste :) I never used the ESP for a batch brew, so wouldn’t be able to give you a very good ballpark
I thought hard and long about buying a Moccamaster. However, I heard some negative things about it. A little too much negative. Except that it comes in endless varieties... 😃Option two was a Melitta Aroma Signature Deluxe. Couldn't find anyone to buy nearby. It turned out to be an OBH Nordica Prime Blooming Chili red. Now I enjoy the coffee.
I've replaced my burrs and re-zeroed. However even if I hadn't, it's always best to dial in to your specific coffee and taste preferences! Refer to the hopper lid for general starting points on stock burrs
Interested to hear what your goto recipe was during your trip. I've been doing about 60g of coffee for a full pot (i.e. up to the 10 mark on the KBGV select).
They never go on sale. But this Black Friday they’re on sale. The select is $249.00 30% off I’m the only coffee drinker in the house . Should I still get? 😀
My exact numbers won’t be of much use because I installed the SSP burrs and have since re-zeroed. That being said, it sounds like you’re in the right ballpark. As always, dial in your specific coffee to your specific preferences :)
I generally use 70g for the full 1.25L batch. In terms of grind size, a few steps coarser than your standard pour over. My exact grind setting won’t mean anything, as I’ve fiddled and re-zeroed my grinder. And we’re using different coffees of course!
I switched from a Bonavita to a Moccamaster and my one complaint is that when I look at the coffee bed after it’s done brewing it just doesn’t look evenly extracted. There is a noticeable channel in the middle of the bed. I usually end up stirring initially and then agitating the grounds at certain points during the brew to get a more flat and even looking coffee bed. I don’t know if this has any impact on the results in the cup, but visually it just throws me off and the process ends up being more hands on than I was hoping. Anyone have the same issue?
As mentioned, at the beginning of the coffee quality section, there is definitely a noticeable issue with water distribution on the Moccamaster. Doing some agitation, or a swirl at the beginning of the brew definitely helps, and I find that grinding slightly finer to slow the flow is also beneficial.
As for the coffee "buring" in the pot after brewing...perhaps people overthink things with modifications...why not just buy a carafe to pour into and be done with it.
Stand correctly, brushed brass and dark blue. Now to the get guts up and buy the expresso maker.... by the way, I did some basic math. I have made over 100 pots with my Canadian Mocca since I got it in May. Average of 5 mugs per pot. So, 500 mugs would have been $1,000 at least in Tims. Even with the cost of the coffee and a decent grinder, any pot I make now is.... free..
Let us not forget that no two people have the same taste and will not agree on what is the best. For the past several months, I have brewed at least 15 different brands, med and dark. At the end of the brewing all those brands, The old fashion grocery store coffee Eight O'Clock med roast is some of the best tasting. How about that. I do like Blue Bottle and even Dunkin has some really good taste. Blackout coffee to me is over roasted and too bitter. Peet's med roast is also some really good coffee. I try to buy whole bean and not pre-ground. I have a company two mile from my house in Irmo South Carolina, Loveland. They have a nice coffee shop that and they roast the coffee. Soda City is one of their brand names. It is ok but much like Blackout. Chef Jerry Irmo South Carolina USA
Absolutely! You seem to be listing quite a few grocery store brands. I'd encourage you to keep exploring freshly roasted coffee! It is a commodity that goes stale, and is best enjoyed fresh around 1-3 weeks after the roast date. Impossible from a grocery store
I did mention some grocery store brands. I do purchase as much speciality coffee. I totally understand what is fresh and what is not. I think over the past year, I have watched every video James Hoffman has produced. lol So I am not here blind. I do understand coffee. I also see a lot of grocery store coffee just as good as the high end. To me it is all about the machine, the grinding and your preference for taste. One of the biggest problems I see is the amount of coffee most brands want you to use. Even my Breville says with a full pot of 60 oz, 12 scoops or over 100 grams. I have brewed that much and find that one huge waste of money and coffee. @@LifestyleLab_
It looks cool and special, but does it really differ from the average and cheap coffee machine? Honestly, I really doubt it and I'm sure the money is just for the design. That being said, probably worth a buy for the feeling.
Just to point out that they sell a Mocchamaster with an insulated carafe. It may not look as nice and be more expensive, but it does probably brew the same coffee
I would definitely buy this brewer if it had a timer setting. Make coffee at 7am. Go to bed. Wake up at 7 with the delicious smell of coffee ready to go. Yes you would loose some deliciousness by leaving the grounds for 8 hours on the cone buy hey. How bad could it be?
At last a reviewer who is bold enough to critise the quality of the plastics used. Actually for the price it's quite flagrant. I have written to the company suggesting they upgrade the plastics. Surprised they failed to reply. One other point the control button which operates the machine once the carad (insulated is best)f is fully inserted sometimes sticks as well as the non-drip system. Apart from that its probably the fastest filter system in the world and results are very good
if you don't like the hotplate then get the model with the insulated carafe, they offer it both ways! lol why would you mod one with the hotplate people are crazy
I have considered this machine for large quantities as I am moving away from Nespresso machines, and exploring pour over for my single serving daily setup. Thoughts on this machine? TECHNIVORM KBTS POLISHED SILVER 1L In comparison as it is a thermal option.
Going to have all the advantages of this machine here, just switches out the hot plate for a thermal carafe. Both great options for moving away from Nespresso
What's the weird plastic cone inside the coffee pitcher? And also let me guess BPA free ? bpa is just a sales pitch, is not really free they use bisphenol b Plastic which is worse. Coffee company should not use plastic of any sort inside of the machine components, the filter holder or inside the pitcher . Due to absorption of micro plastics when heated.
I had a Moccamaster and a Bonavita and used them side by side, same coffee (I roast my own), virtually same coffee-to-water ratio, same grind, etc. At the end of the day, I just really liked the coffee from the Bonavita significantly better. I ended up selling my Moccamaster and still have my Bonavita. I was disappointed by the results of the Moccamaster.
Because it's a high quality product that will last you for life. In this market segment, it's actually on the less expensive side. Competing against things like the Ratio Six, Fellow Aiden, etc....
I've used these pretty extensively, and after a while I found that a lot of the plastic began to warp, the build quality is cheap, and the engaging buttons tend to wear out fast. I would not buy this, but if you fancy it, you do you.
@@LifestyleLab_ Absolutely not haha, I just think after such prolonged use the heat from the drip bar just warped whatever plastic was near it. Maybe if the unit was $100 dollars cheaper I wouldn't be so critical.
Quit whining about the warming plate, you either want it to stay hot till you drink it, if you prefer to rewarm your coffee, just turn it off. And the company foes have a version with thermal carafe.
Returned my Moccamaster. Does not feel like a $350 machine. Plastics are cheap feeling, the scoop, lid, and basket feels like they came out of a gundam play set. Mine broke after a day. Do not believe the hype, get a ratio 6 or something that doesn’t feel like it was manufactured by mega blocks.

Agree wholeheartidy. Found Everywhere in Finland. Some good marketing there as still pretty rare in SW France!
One of the key benefits of a Moccamaster is the precise brew time and temperature it provides. This was a key selling point when I bought mine.

best model in my opinion for daiy use. The glass carafe is, for me, a bit flimsy and too lightweight

i heard this is bpa, bfa free? any issues with mold build up within the copper or any parts of the machine?? thanks for your review
Curious the ratio you're using for 2 cups and then for a whole pot?
If you want a thermal carafe, they have models without hotplates. But I like glass carafes, since it shuts off automatically and I drink it fast.

A typical pour over ratio is 1:16 by weight. So 16g of grounds per 256mL of water
Did you pre-soak the paper filter before putting in the grounds? There’s a bit of an acidic taste in the coffee if I don’t pre-soak the mocha master paper filters.
Personal preference, but yes most people recommend rinsing the paper to avoid having any flavours transfer over to the brew
Yes, it mades a very hot coffee.
@@LifestyleLab_ I ordered one thank u
I just ordered the diamond series and very excited!!!
I like the color too.
Would love to know how many grams of coffee you used for either a full or 1/2 pot and what grind size you used?
Ditto.
He mentioned in another comment that he used 70g for a full pot
Is the coffee very hot when you drink it or just medium hot
Very hot.
My Breville Precision insulated carafe will keep the coffee hot for near 3 yours. Today after 2 hours and 35 minutes, it was near as hot as it was first brewed. Another reason to buy the Breville over the Moccamaster. The look of the gas pump sold this dude.
Moccamaster also has an insulated carafe version...
Do you know anything about the small 8 cup moccamaster
This is a 10 cup, I'm not sure an 8 cup exists. Do you have a model number?
I have a very old Technivorm Mocca King. I desperately want to keep it going but the plastic container that holds the filter is broken. I also do not have any of the original pots. Can you help at all?
Probably best to contact Technivorm
Just need to dial in to taste :)
I never used the ESP for a batch brew, so wouldn’t be able to give you a very good ballpark
Where did you buy it? How? I would like to get one.
@@GeorgeWWakim In a shop in Sweden.
Have the same grinder. What # setting are you using for brewing on the moccamaster? Thanks!
I've replaced my burrs and re-zeroed. However even if I hadn't, it's always best to dial in to your specific coffee and taste preferences! Refer to the hopper lid for general starting points on stock burrs
How would this compare to my manual press flair 58?
Not really possible to compare and espresso maker to a batch brewer. Completely different drinks. Both great though!
This Review made think about buying this for my parents^^
Would you try out and review the Hive Roaster?
Would be really interested in your opinion!
Interested to hear what your goto recipe was during your trip. I've been doing about 60g of coffee for a full pot (i.e. up to the 10 mark on the KBGV select).
I was using 70g for the full pot, but obviously depends on coffee, grind etc
What is your grind size?
Its kbts.
Im on fence. Got an oxo 8 cup and hated it. Made lukewarm coffee. Love the look of moccomaster. I only brew about 25 ounces per dsy tho
Same machine as this one, but with the thermal carafe, and the ability to adjust the flow rate on the brewing cone.
They never go on sale. But this Black Friday they’re on sale.
The select is $249.00
30% off
I’m the only coffee drinker in the house . Should I still get? 😀
I use it to make coffee for just myself every morning. It’s one of the reasons I actually like the Moccamaster, it can do small batches well
I’ve never seen them on sale. Have you?
Last time I saw them on sale was in the summer when I bought mine. Same deal, 30% off. Absolute steal!
Hi
Will you guys maybe make a review of the Graef Baronessa?
Keep up the good work!
what grind size do you use on your ode for the moccamaster? I’ve been going anywhere between 7-9.
My exact numbers won’t be of much use because I installed the SSP burrs and have since re-zeroed. That being said, it sounds like you’re in the right ballpark. As always, dial in your specific coffee to your specific preferences :)
What ratio and grind size do you use? I own ODE+SSP and C40.
Doing some agitation, or a swirl at the beginning of the brew definitely helps, and I find that grinding slightly finer to slow the flow is also beneficial.
rather pedantic. No need to stir. Waste of your effort in my view
Just rotate brew basket at the beginning, then the same while it’s done showering. Easy fix.
@@Dorito230can you explain what that does? ty
I believe they do make a thermal carafe version.
Yessir!
Even with the cost of the coffee and a decent grinder, any pot I make now is.... free..
Not following the first part of this comment, but always fun to do the math on savings from home brewing! Thanks for sharing!
It was in reference to my previous comment about the colors of my Moccas. I said gold and it was not...@@LifestyleLab_
They sell versions with insulated carafes. Surprised you didn’t go that route.
Almost purely an aesthetic choice. I love the look of the glass carafe on this machine.
@jerryhubbard4461 like you said, all down to personal preferences :) good on you for tasting and dialing in and not just following "standard" recipes
I also find it fun to mix brands and roast. Always looking of that special taste. @@LifestyleLab_
It looks cool and special, but does it really differ from the average and cheap coffee machine? Honestly, I really doubt it and I'm sure the money is just for the design. That being said, probably worth a buy for the feeling.
The improvements will be noticeable in the temperature stability, and the all glass and metal water path. Worth the money
Wish they'd make a all stainless version without all that plastic.
Just to point out that they sell a Mocchamaster with an insulated carafe. It may not look as nice and be more expensive, but it does probably brew the same coffee
For sure!
As silly as it sounds, I just much prefer the appearance of the hot plate glass carafe version. Pros and cons
I know. A simple button to turn the hotplate of would not be a difficult thing to implement
I hate thermoses. The glass carafe is so much prettier and easy to keep clean. I find the hot plate is fine up to 30 minutes, which is good enough.
Just use a smart switch to do exactly that then :)
@@LifestyleLab_well now I have the perfect excuse to buy it. If my wife ask. I will blame you 🤣
In the Netherlands the hot plate switches off after 40 minutes.
Yes, same in North America. Which is surprising because most appliances do not due to more lenient regulations. Seems smart overall 👍
The pistachio color is sick
At last a reviewer who is bold enough to critise the quality of the plastics used. Actually for the price it's quite flagrant. I have written to the company suggesting they upgrade the plastics. Surprised they failed to reply. One other point the control button which operates the machine once the carad (insulated is best)f is fully inserted sometimes sticks as well as the non-drip system. Apart from that its probably the fastest filter system in the world and results are very good
if you don't like the hotplate then get the model with the insulated carafe, they offer it both ways! lol why would you mod one with the hotplate people are crazy
If you want to keep coffee longer, get an insulated carafe and pour in after brewing. Problem solved.
This Moccamaster also comes in a thermal carafe version, problem BETTER solved 👍 I was just speaking specifically about this model
I have considered this machine for large quantities as I am moving away from Nespresso machines, and exploring pour over for my single serving daily setup. Thoughts on this machine?
TECHNIVORM KBTS POLISHED SILVER 1L
In comparison as it is a thermal option.
Going to have all the advantages of this machine here, just switches out the hot plate for a thermal carafe. Both great options for moving away from Nespresso
Dutch pride ❤
Love mine, and it's not made in China. Win win.
but look foward to 97% of all your future EV cars and batteries rcoming from PRC. and imagine their control over our lives
Insulated is too heavy, and you never know you know.
That's what all mods are about...voiding the warranty to get what you want.
why is this so expensive?
Because it's a high quality product that will last you for life. In this market segment, it's actually on the less expensive side. Competing against things like the Ratio Six, Fellow Aiden, etc....
And because you just missed their Prime Day sale ;)
I've used these pretty extensively, and after a while I found that a lot of the plastic began to warp, the build quality is cheap, and the engaging buttons tend to wear out fast. I would not buy this, but if you fancy it, you do you.
Hmm definitely haven’t ever heard those complaints before, even from long-term owners. Were you putting the parts in the dishwasher?
@@LifestyleLab_ Absolutely not haha, I just think after such prolonged use the heat from the drip bar just warped whatever plastic was near it. Maybe if the unit was $100 dollars cheaper I wouldn't be so critical.
Have 3 Moccamasters, 2 for over 5 years and have never experienced such issues. Build quality is top notch - these things are tanks.
build quiality is fantastic on these
@@mikemast411 All the plastic components are replacable, so it's not that big of an issue to me.
You pronounce the o in Moccamaster like the O in ' lock ' , not the O of O My GOD ;)
Would you believe, people in different parts of the world pronounce things differently? 😯
Quit whining about the warming plate, you either want it to stay hot till you drink it, if you prefer to rewarm your coffee, just turn it off. And the company foes have a version with thermal carafe.
I'm not whining, I'm just pointing out a common criticism. Kind of the point of a review 👍
@@LifestyleLab_ well ya got me there🙂
“ got drunk.”
???
Returned my Moccamaster. Does not feel like a $350 machine. Plastics are cheap feeling, the scoop, lid, and basket feels like they came out of a gundam play set. Mine broke after a day. Do not believe the hype, get a ratio 6 or something that doesn’t feel like it was manufactured by mega blocks.
Nobody notices the plastic parts that come in contact with the hot water? That's a deal breaker for any real coffee lover
"Any real coffee lover" is bold
Some people are concerned with this, others aren't. Has nothing to do with coffee
Just got one and wanted to see a few reviews. Sucks that I came across the pretentious Canadian one first😢 this guy annoyed the hell out of me
This is Mitchel, don’t be like Mitchel everyone
This is an awesome coffee maker. This with the Breville Smart Grinder Pro is 🤌🏽
