Kerry Pence exactly man, design is key. I spent months on the design on this enclosure. You don’t always need the biggest possible driver to do descent numbers👌🏻 this is all initial testing no tweaking of the enclosure or port tuning.
_1_ it can still play down to 26 hz all the way up to 70 hz its musical but rolls off in the lower freqs. But you’re right it’s not meant for decaf music lol
You want efficiency? go look up Ronnie Ruckus Smith on Facebook, he does over 141db on a single Savard 6.5 inch sub with only 100 watts then does over 149db with almost 1000 watts!
@@mmatsstang2805 Why not? 6th order works great as you have 2 tuning points (high & low), 6th order however in my opinion suffers a little playing tight quick accurate music like rock & types of Drum & Bass which tends to sound a little muddy due to the lack accuracy but seems fine on long extended bass notes which decaf is good for.

This is why I love sub builders “I’ll just rebuild them” before I met my sub builder I thought I’d be stuck with what was out there on the market and paying retail. Now my budget and power is the limit gettn 2 18 inch kicker Solo X motors on 15 inch baskets made for what I’m into and tune my boxes to 30-18hz. I really want to start building my own subs one day
@@tidobass6048 the sealed chamber of a 4th order bandpass promotes more power handling. However, be mindful that at tuned frequencies, sealed chambers lose cone control. It's the opposite for ported chambers.

I'm thinking of doing 6 8" subs like that in my 03 Lexus is300 in a horn style where the opening will be towards front and the subs will be in 2 rows of 3 on top part of opening that will be shaped like >and the rest of the box will be squared off with a port at the very bottom. I'm also building an explorer with 6 Resilient Sounds platinum 15s or 18s depends what kind of enclosure I end up going with because it's only a 2 door so limited on space especially after a 6 battery bank and capacitor bank 1 battery for each taramp 3000 and 6-8 cap bank for each also.
These guys were just pushing the limit on these nugget sized Subs but DAMN they sent it and sent WELL!!!! Hands down, they've just proven how solidly built these #emAudio woofers are
i am running two Ground Zero 6.5 subs in the back at 500 rms each and two DS18 Elite Z 6.5 subs in the doors at 300 rms each, they are crazy. got many others hooked up but those are my 6.5's
I would advise making a terminal on the box with all coils attached. That way you can wire to whatever without taking the box apart and in turn make a permanent seal that will also help with dB

So i just got two 10s and the factory recommendations for the enclosure is either ported or sealed and gives the optimum volume for the enclosure . Is that volume double if you have 2 speakers? Im trying to build a box to save money and kill time, learn. A lot more scientific than putting speakers in coffe cans lol
You review any of the alpine 12" 2ohm svc type R's yet? I have a pair of the 5th gen and with the rockford t1000 wired at 1 ohm got 147 out of an n I think they may have more to give. Ive also got alot to learn about such things so nervous to push em too much further past their rated rms. But thats where they're living now so far so good
I wouldn't think this is a musical application this was designed for spl to get loud at one specific frequency all these videos coming out of these little subs being so loud is very specific to that frequency and applications and wouldn't be a daily musical build
I know. I should have elaborated more. Each pair could be tuned an octave away from each other. Or even in 5 hz increments. Starting at 35 hz then go up but not above 55. So the over all roll off is spread out more for more bandwidth. Does my idea sound good or am I lost lol

Theres a boss puck in my c class that has two small 4” drivers or something and actually shakes the car fairly well considering what it is. Its only like 10” in diameter and 3” tall or so.
It’s all about the box! You can put a super cheap sub in a properly built box and it will be louder and sound better than a high dollar sub in a crappy box.
Check out Resilient Sounds there platnuim series motor weight is about 62-64 lbs there team series is a 142 lb with 9 spiders and about a grand cheaper than a sundown team
So Noob question 🤔.... Are these types of boxes meant primarily for competition ? Or could you run a setup like this on the daily with all types of music 🤷♂️

Once again, it's not really about the subwoofer. It's about the enclosure working in combination with your sub and the environment they're in.

6th orders in my opinion don’t give more cone control they are open on both ends for tuning. If you want come control a 4th is a much safer route

I have 2 ap bdc4 12s on 5k rms and they eat it up no problem but they do bottom out under 26 hz
