Man you are always soo happy i love it! I've been showing all my bass head friends your vids and telling everyone to sub to your page, keep doing what you're doing broo 👍
I heard a civic pounding seriously hard, and real low at a car show. I expected to find a couple 15s stuffed in there or something. I couldn't believe it when I walked up and saw 8 6.5s .
I have an old gmc Sonoma and I’ve been debating on what to get. This video and the dual 8” ct meso helped me decide that this is the route I want to go.
I liked your FB PAGE and of course I'm subbed to you.🙂 I've been here since almost day 1 . Your content never disappoints you give an honest unbiased opinion. You have def helped with alit of my car audio decisions. I just had my 2 Sundown SA 12v2 stolen out my trunk, people can be horrible some have no conscience! You feel violated when someone breaks into your car, I hope no one on here will have to experience it, if you haven't already . Thanks for your top notch content Parker , you are def a much needed creator in the car audio niche. KEEP THE BANGERS COMING BROTHER !!
With such a high Fs and high tuning on the box, wasn't suprised to get great output at higher frequencies! I know CT recommends high tuning, but you can get away with a .4 - .5 per cube enclosure tuned around 35-36 hz and get nice lows without bottoming out the subs like you almost did. I have owned 4 of the Meso 8's and various other CT products and was very happy with everything. Great video man, keep it up!!
I just ordered 2 10 inch meso’s for my Chevy S10 extended cab with the jump seat. Pairing it with a taramps 3k so maybe a tad overkill but leaves some room to grow. Do you think this Setup would be pretty loud? My old system was dual alpine type X 12s in my first car (Camry lol) and it was a lot of fun but not very loud. I’m hoping my new build in my truck will be louder. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I have a ground zero 8 that looks suspiciously similar to that one. It doesn't hit lows like a 12 but I'm sure it's better 6.5's in probably the same size enclosure. Also it can hit 133 playing music on around 400 watts
I've got a pair of the CT Sounds Tropo 8inch D4 subwoofers powered by a Kenwood Excelon xr900-5 5channel amp and they do 134db on the windshield with the little 5 channel amp
When I was teenager I only play with 12" and 15", but as I get into early 30's I sort of become more diplomatic and more towards audiophile kind of bass. 6.5" or 8" is my sweet spot accurate bass and balance sound not overkill. But man damn I miss the moment just went to school and bang those 15" JBL bad boys.
I'm same as I got a bit older and for type of music I listen to, a single 10" in a proper box with proper power does just fine and is more than loud enough for me
Awesome bud and it was great getting to meet you yesterday at rukus. The demo was very cool. And hopefully i will have my car at the next show and can return the demo buddy. So keep up the great videos and i will keep watching
I love my 2 B2 Audio Rampage 8s I can’t believe my 8s sound as good, loud & clear as my 2 DC level 4 10s the only reason I went with 8s was I needed more space…

Because the CT Meso line of subs are so massive, they will occupy much of the space inside the enclosure, let alone provide a huge obstacle to the sound waves inside the box. For these reasons, and help regulate the heat they produce, they should be mounted in reverse. The rubber gasket covers both the front and back mounting surfaces , and it will become obvious why the back of the speaker is chrome, when you hear this setup, wired at 2 ohms.
I only have one 6.5 Meso subwoofer and I love it so far!! Thanks for sharing the difference between the 2 of them 👍!!! Those will be AWESOME for whoever wins the 6.5's or 8's subwoofers. The Sundown subwoofer is also going to be AWESOME for whoever wins that one too!! Thank you so much for doing the giveaways Parker, your AWESOME!!!!!
A Parker you did a good job on review. Actually the first time I’ve seen any of the 2021 stuff looks like a pretty good equipment solid information thank you Looking forward to seeing you out there at shows. Thank you Parker
Hey thanks for ur vid. My fam has a set of the CT Meso-6.5-D4 in her Ford Edge. I know that they are several years old now but I still want them. I'm trying to locate the perfect box for my 6.5 Meso-D4 subwoofers to fit in the middle of my Ford Edge. Can't wait to purchase those subwoofers. Thanks for ur vid. 😊
I have the new Meso 8" and that little beast of a sub likes big boxes. I had other single boxes for 8" and it did not like any of them I ended up building another box.
Hey, got a quick question, gotta build a box and tight space that I got would it make sense single 8 inch port box vs. dual 6.5 inch sealed box. Can’t find much information what would sound better
CT’s have a nice range. Just picked up Skar EVL 6.5’s, still working on the box. Been running Tang Band w6 in doors for a while. Figured try an enclosure with the Skars before maybe moving into doors. Not looking to go over 200rms each. Might try them at 8ohm boxed, 4ohm stereo in doors
In your opinion being a little bit space limited... what will be a better option? 3 8s or 4 6.5s?? But the tropo series? Thanks bud excellent video and explanation 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’m looking for one to play the high bass notes all the funk and zap and Rodger bass up front with my 500 JL amp. My Yukon had a woofer up front and sounded good. I want to put a 6.5 or shallow or whatever in middle consol of the Prius’s got a skar 12 evl in back and everything else amped up. I want that front fill bass like the ok Yukon I had was cool
Parker... have you by chanced tried a 15 of the Meso series? how do they compare to a Skar VXF? I was thinking of swapping my VXF 15 for a MESO 15 since I already run a CT Sounds AT1400.1 amp.
I miss my meso 6.5s 😩😩 had 4 of them in a 4th order in the trunk of my lancer playing 18hz-67hz on a 2500.1 Orion xtr pro and was doing a 148.6 on a meter @ 33-36hz. I went to switch the amp out for another to try and they had the cords wrong for the data link and the bass knob and it caught my amp on fire and blew all 4 subs😢😢😢. One day I’ll have them again.
Would you recommend these ? I want to install only one on my access cab tacoma. Not sure if I want the 8 or 6.5 I don't want anything crazy but i do want something over the stock system
I know it's an old thread, but info is still good. I wanted something different in 6.5 for a fwd facing box in the Ford Raptor. I'm going with 4 Ampere Audio AA-2.5 RVE 6.5" D2. I was curious if you had any experience with them? If not, test them. They seem to have better build materials than the CT, Sundown and Massive HippoXL. A larger 2.5 inch copper dual voice coil vs 2 inch aluminum. Opinion?
Working on my 08 extended cab still, bought 2 6.5 vfls in a d4s prefab for now, decided there is no other place than a custom center console for a sub worth a scrap in these trucks..even 3" loft on the seat barely nets enuff for a pair of good 10s. What did u end up doin ur truck?
Debating on keeping my rp800.1 skar amp or get the 700.1 ct sound amp got the ct sound 80.4 only reason i would do it cause the skar amp is a bit big not sure where i want to mount amps yet
Fun fact: for those who remember Klipsch promedia 2.1 the original versions sub is 6.5 and the newest iteration has 8 and you'll be surprised which one is louder and can produce deeper bass
If you are trying to move air, there is no substitute for cone real-estate. The more cone you have, the more air you can move. Don't get me wrong, small cones do have their uses. And they do a great job at what they're designed to do. I own 8s, 12s, and 15s, and I use them all.
I haven't had a system in years, but I have been itching to build a new one. I was thinking about 4 of the 6.5 Mesos in a sealed box under the back seat of a 4th Gen Ram Crew Cab with upgraded component sets in all 4 doors w/an amp. I like punchy bass vs low and shake/vibrate/rattle the truck to death these days. The plan is to put plenty of amp behind them. Will I regret the sealed vs ported box? I'm just looking for punch. My last system was 4 - 1Os in a sealed box in a regular cab. What do yall think?
If you like rock/metal and tight , punchy responsive bass you'll be just fine with a sealed box. If you have room for the 10"s (or a single shallow 12") you can always run 2 of them on a seperate 70hz and lower channel, then do a 200- 70hz upper bass channel with your 8"s . I still have a hard time wrapping my brain around these monster 6&8 subs considering the depth issue and how much box they need to REALLY get sound.
@@jimbobdobbs1597 thanks for the reply and yes, I'm more into rock/metal, etc... My original plan was 4 shallow mounted 8s, until I found these little over-built guys. I still need to do some box measurements, for volume. I'm sure I will have to do a fiberglass bottom molded box for the most available volume, though but I'm hoping to avoid a rear seat left.
Really beefy small 6.5s :) It wuold be interesting to try out one of them in my box made for my 6.5 inch driver: 22.6 liters (0.79-0.8 cuft) net volume tuned to 22 Hz (vids of it on my channel). Also the 8s: seems to be that they are better in every aspect, and also seems to be that they doesn't need so much bigger box, so in my opinion it is a way better idea to go with them, so... :)
Meh they're really just cheap Chinese stuff with a big magnet. They are nothing special. I'd rather pay triple and get something from B2 Audio or something equivalent instead.
2× 8" subs will sound very similar to one 12" sub. 2× 6.5" subs will sound very similar to one 10" sub. Provided the x-max of the smaller subs is roughly half of the bigger one.
Im wanting to try. 3- of those meso 6.5s. I'm currently running 3 -6.5 evl skar in custom down fire box behind the seat in my old square body chevy on. Stetsom 1200.1. It metered a 138.2 @ 37 hz clamping 608 watts. But the evls are only 200 rms. I'm wanting to step up to the Meso cause they're double the power of the skars
I’ve thought about putting 6.5s in my rear doors of my suv or maybe 8 s it came with 6.5 factory but haven’t had it apart to see if I have any kinda room for eather one but hey I like the video I kinda figured that the 8’s would be louder ! 😳How many 8s do You have and what vehicle?

love your show,I learn a lot thanks James

Could you run the 6.5 in a door speaker setup? Specifically for an obs tahoe???
If you are trying to move air, there is no substitute for cone real-estate. The more cone you have, the more air you can move.
Don't get me wrong, small cones do have their uses. And they do a great job at what they're designed to do. I own 8s, 12s, and 15s, and I use them all.
Would I be able to use the 6.5 as a door component or would it be to beefy?
@@bigmike7528 shallow mounts aren’t even worth the hype . Definitely find a box that can support some skar ddxs and they’ll pound
On the ct sounds amplifier which rca slots do i use .i dont understand these
Really beefy small 6.5s :) It wuold be interesting to try out one of them in my box made for my 6.5 inch driver: 22.6 liters (0.79-0.8 cuft) net volume tuned to 22 Hz (vids of it on my channel).
Use a 1/2 round over bit on the port and it will reduce the port noise
what do you use to power your amplifiers on your walls?
Im wanting to try. 3- of those meso 6.5s. I'm currently running 3 -6.5 evl skar in custom down fire box behind the seat in my old square body chevy on. Stetsom 1200.1. It metered a 138.2 @ 37 hz clamping 608 watts. But the evls are only 200 rms. I'm wanting to step up to the Meso cause they're double the power of the skars
I’m running 4 6.5 dc audio subs in my Prius. Under powered right now but I like it.
How many watts are running them at because I'm putting 4 in my F150 truck?
@@cptklutch26 I have a sundown audio salt 2k to them
you just sold me on the 6.5 for my center console build i have some skar ones but they want to much air space
Bouta put one in my s10 standard cab will it hit?
Did you sell that Soundqubed 4 channel? If not how much would you want for it?
A good portion of why they dont get louder in spl over 6kw would be the port area of the slot port hitting compression. Try out a bandpass for these.
Sir, I need a sub-hopper, how much will it cost?
Dimensions for the box ? Plan on building one for my trailblazer
Hey man outta curiosity why do you meter in the floor board? Why not on the dash or window?
I started doing in on the floor so have just kept it there to be consistent
@@ParkerTheBasshead I understand that. Love your videos man. Your the reason I went with my xfl 10s!
What's a good amp for my 4 Audiopipe Txx-bdc3-10 . 4 om's ... Will a Taramps. Smart 3k do it at 2 ohms
When are you doing the giveaway thing?
Dude, why are you putting a nicely polished sub motor on bare wood just to scratch the finish?
Where did you get that frequenzy meter?
love those 6.5
I followed and liked your Facebook bro and have been watching your RUclips vids for a while now 🙂
I appreciate you Joel!!!
How do i look up for the 8 whats the name of them
I’ve thought about putting 6.5s in my rear doors of my suv or maybe 8 s it came with 6.5 factory but haven’t had it apart to see if I have any kinda room for eather one but hey I like the video I kinda figured that the 8’s would be louder ! I haven’t had any ct sounds stuff so far but I like what I read and see from them ! Thx bass on back to you to man !
Why would you have one box firing up and the other firing back? It seems motivated.
You should do a audiopipe txxbdc4-8 review
Does the ct meso beat a sundown sa8?
can't wait to get my 4 resilient sounds 8's in a box.
Those are pricey but I hear they're very good quality sub.
Ive definitely got my fingers crossed for this Sundown V2 giveaway!
How much would a 8 inch sub and box weigh all together?
Anyone know what would be better ? Memphis MoJo 8” vs CT Meso v3?
