This is 1000% the goal for my truck. I’ve been obsessed with wanting to do 4 8s in my truck and now seeing this. Just even more motivation. Just gotta find the money to do it 😍
I was running 4 soundqubed hds2.108s on a ppi ice 7000.1 @ .5 ohms, 4 8s on 3k are nasty! Best part is the sq 8s are like $80 each so not gonna have to mortgage your house to get sum!
Officer - it was your car making all the noise right? Me - secretly turning off the sub. No Officer it wasn’t me. Listen. I don’t have that loud bass. See? 😂🤣
Im rocking 3 JL 8w3 for the last six years. It's funny the reactions I get from people when I turn up the music. First, they didn't realize I had a system of that magnitude as its hidden behind 3rd row downfield. Then they can't believe they are only 8s . Ive Had all sizes through my years , but the 8s take so little room and sound good with ALL music .
Was just picking my truck up at my buddies audio shop last week and he had one of those boxes on the ground. Its a seriously impressive box. The quality is amazing and the corners (or lack of) is really nice. Yeah its expensive but its a quality piece.
Great video. I’ve always preffered the sound of 8” subs over 10s or 12s. I started running four 8 free airs back in the 90s and had to explain the whole series/parallel wiring thing many times. Thanks for showing 8s are still good option.

I don’t remember Craftsman having boxes that big! I’m a 11 year machinist by trade and at work I have a chrome “Shiti” badge in place of the original HF sticker on my box people get a good laugh when they see it. Thanks, Ed
Sky High wire is enormous. The regular 1/0 OFC is really 3/0 Welding size. I went to my local Auto parts store, Economy Auto, took a piece of wire in there to size it for some copper lugs and the 3/0 Welding lugs ended up fitting perfect.
I honestly got confused on the wiring of the sub's part at first and then fully comprehood what ya meant by wiring them in series to 4 ohms per group and then down to 2ohms all together
I was into car audio big time in the mid 90s. I ran into a situation a couple of times where that DCL 4.2 would have made servicing/upgrading SO easy! Thanks for the vid!

Probably the 2 used subs that have broken in surrounds. He was xmax'n them hard.
@@wtcamer agreed. I figured something along those lines.
It is the internal wiring causing more power to be sent to two of the four subwoofers because of the series parallel wiring.
