@@OverlandGeneration The desert has hidden secret places that are remote and interesting but the gorge, coast and mountains have the best especially Crater Lake and the drive up the coast is mostly state parks

I told you my friend it is absolutely gorgeous down there you need to go and catch it on a sunny day and stay till the afternoon and watch the sandstone change color as the sun goes down!!!
Great video. Shawnee National Forest as a whole is amazing. Shawnee can make you forget that you are in Illinois. The Garden of the Gods is amazing, beautiful place, offers some spectacular views. Also that first right you took, you could have actually climbed up on the rock formations to the left there. It's amazing to visit no matter what time of the year, especially in the fall or after a snowfall, that is if you have a vehicle that can make it up the road. lol. I actually have a winter video from GODs on my channel. The Famous rock formation there is Camel Rock, you have a great view of it at 9:35. If you are ever in the area again, I definitely recommend visiting again. I live 4 hours away in central Illinois, and I try to visit Gods and SNF at least a few times a year!! Yes, if you are not careful, especially with kids, it can be dangerous, that fall would be deadly. Subbed.
I think you must have missed Camel Rock at 9:32 it's directly in front of you it is the leftmost outcropping!! I've been there three times now and never seen double smokestacks that was awesome thanks for showing that Rob!

I have been all over the lower 48 and seen beauty of all types! Shawnee National Forest is Seriously underrated!

Oh I'm definitely going back. I thoroughly enjoyed my very short stint there... Shawnee National Forest is one of America's Hidden Treasures.
