I haven't heard of this Garden of the Gods. Only the one in Colorado. Looks like another place to add to our list.
Colorado is all I had ever heard of also. We highly recommend adding to your list. We could not believe all of this was in Southern Illinois :D

We’ve not done a lot in IL. Looks like a really pretty place. I under that feeling. If the place was gorgeous will every thing else be a let down? I don’t think so. It’s all beautiful different. The desert is nothing like the mountains, but both are still beautiful. This place is pretty darn magnificent. Great vid.
You are right. We say all the time, every state has its own unique beauty...but we didn't have high hopes for Illinois. Lol We were so pleasantly surprised :D There is more to explore in the Shawnee Nat'l Forest, and you guys will love all of the dispersed camping!

You guys missed rim rock and pounds hollow , cave in rock just down road from garden of gods. If you like places like that in Southern Illinois watch Mark's of curiosity and Hiking with shawn both of them go everywhere in Southern Illinois.

I completely forgot my little 'quote intro' didn't I? Oops! I was working on the 'hook clips' and didn't think one thing about it. I wasn't in the mood for getting this one out, so I forced it and messed up. Maybe I need a checklist for the days I am not feeling it :D
