Actually tap F8 at startup. F12 is for boot. if you are in the market for a new laptop I would recommend an ASUS due to how they are manufactured now compared to HP, Dell, Gateway, etc today. I would go with the Asus i5 20gb Ram 512 SSD drive on Amazon. My stepson bought the mini 10 and can tell it may have a virus, I've tried every optional available including F8 and can not get the Factory Reset page to come up.
Thank you so much, I was fighting with my Dell latitude E7240 laptop trying to figure out how to reset it. Your method worked like a charm..."hold down shift and click on the power button". Thanks again.
nothing worked from the video. I bought a used dell latitude 3490 laptop, but I can't get past the pin screen. I've tried all the videos including yours still no luck. I can get to the f12 boot options but that's it.Any suggestions? All I want to do is reset to factory
Looking to reset a Dell Inspirion Windows 8 that is password protected by a former owner who passed away. The factory reset still takes me back to password entry. Any suggestions?
I’m doing the same, my roommate passed away and his family didn’t want his laptop but I don’t know the password. Nothing I have tried so far has helped.
