  • In this video I will teach you how to make tempura shrimp! Tempura frying shrimp is not hard, but there are a few key differences from frying other types of food. Tempura shrimp can be enjoyed on it's own, with other dishes, or within sushi.
If you have any questions about this process, feel free to ask your question in the comments below!
Here's the equipment & ingredients I used in this video:

    Bryan,
Another way to keep shrimp straight while cooking is to run a wooden skewer through the shrimp
With a piece of skewer sticking out, you can easily hold them while coating in Tempura mix and batter and immersing them in oil.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector

That's true! I use that technique when I am boiling shrimp and I want to keep them straight - like when making ebi.

Um. You have never worked in a sushi/Japanese restaurant. You prepare these shrimps ahead of time. Let’s say you have 24 tempura order and have to do tempura for the rolls, do you have time to do this under 20 minutes and take out the sticks?

Can anyone please help? I've been searching the net for some time and I cant' figure out a way to make the fishy smell go away from the nori. When I eat at a restaurant, the maki rolls don't smell fishy. But when I make maki at home, the nori smells so bad. Please help. Thanks.

There are different grades of nori gold, silver, blue, yellow so the gold is the high quality one and it wont smell like the cheap one
