@Toha Toha thank you I’ve hear a lot of personal trainers and people that never explained it better the you did. This all makes since go me. I’m going to try it.
I have PCOS, PCOD, endometriosis, underline hypothyroidism, and let me tell you loosing weight is next to impossible for me. I swear I’m doing this for 17 days (minus 3 days of Christmas) and have lost 4.43 pounds. You are a SAVIOUR Jordan.
Try fixing your hormone imbalance with inositol, berberine, and tri-Chromium as well as being at a calorie deficit. The weight will fly off! I have P.C.O.S too, weight loss is def possible for us!
You may want to try intermittent fasting (IF). There is a lot of research that shows that IF is very helpful for insulin resistance which is one of the reasons people with PCOS have such a difficult time losing weight.
I have been struggling with my weight for years and this just made everything seem so simple that i feel like i can finally get myself to the body i have been dreaming of. Thank you! Amazing video!
I love how you didn't overcomplicate things here. I know it's a simplification, but people new to nutrition and fitness are often scared off by too much information.
Love the simplicity of this video, J. And although I was successful with my fatloss without counting anything, I am now at a stage where I want to lose a bit more fat and put on a bit more muscle so I decided to give the calorie and protein counting a go. Thank you for this and wish me luck! ♥
I took some advice that closely correlates with this calorie level. I ate normally for 7 days and found my average calorie level and then cut calories by 20%. Ended up being close to the GBw x 12
Lilian Chase I Lilian, I strongly advise you against this. Please check your BMR first (this is the calories your body burns at rest) and never go below this number. You should be able to find the calculation on google. If your BMR happens to be below 1200 then you’re good to go, but I strongly doubt it will be
I’m going to start this tomorrow and get rid of fat because I’ve been working out since March I see changes but not major changes I need more so I’m going to do this
Straight forward and to the point. I’ve been killing myself with macros and deciding which calorie calculator is lying to me. Yours is in like with where I finally landed! Thank you SO much
I always considered myself a hard gainer, but the reality was I had always had a lousy diet. As soon as I started following the Agoge diet, I started gaining muscle fast!
I love you, I love everything you’re about. My only problem here, is that my “calorie deficit” for my “goal body weight” is exorbitantly more than I’ve been eating. I’m concerned that’d still lead to weight gain, to just suddenly up my calories?
I heard of something called reverse dieting. Slowly increase your calorie intake day by day to get to that suggested number. Then you can always text the waters once you are there and see if your body still responds to weightloss
I did this equation for 2 months and lost 11 pounds ! I got 22 pounds to go :) thank you! I used to only 1200 calories before watching this and always gave up no wonder I was basically starving myself !

(It's only been 1 year) I used to have a personal trainer and he was rough.. like he was really mean I liked him but he always pushed me wayyy too hard . And I can train hard but anyways I loved that you said if your "GBW Is 150 and you Get to 180 and you love the way your feel and perform that's great" I really like how you push enough but not too far!

Absolutely can't thank you enough, don't know if it's this vid, but the advice on platoues especially when working out the loosing weight during a rest is spot on. It's like there's so many hacks and charlatans about this subject but it simply comes down to energy in energy out. Top man.
This video made me realize two things, 1) I was way off on my original calorie intake, 2) i didnt realize how little i was eating protein wise. This time im gonna make it from 260 down to 200. Cheers mate!
Thank you for this. How many pounds a week should you expect to lose with this calculation? Also, is this taking into account height and activity level?
I’ve been undereating for two weeks, 1,200 calories because that’s what an app told me. I’m meant to be on about 1700 according to your video, no wonder I’ve been feeling like shit all day
This was pretty close to what I set myself at. According to this I should be at 1420 calories and I’m at 1200. Honestly it’s working tho I do need to get more protein in my diet. I just cut the processed food out and eat more veggies and lean cut meat. I don’t feel deprived. Apps are great for figuring out calories and most save your favorite meals.
I’m scared to follow this. It’s a wake up call. I have a past with an eating disorder. I’ll keep it as short as I can: last year I was 99 pounds (17 and 65 inches) and over the summer 2019 I gained to my healthy weight range(120-125) and then developed the binge purge subtype of anorexia. I began binging and purging through vomiting, laxatives, and diuretics. That summer I gained 40 pounds. I am currently 163 (same height and age) and my goal is 125 However Currently I am eating roughly 100-300 calories a day (that’s not a typo) and exercising 1-2 hours a day(burning between 700-900 calories). The calculator suggest I eat 1500 calories and it has been since August that I’ve eaten that much in a day. But I mean this week I lose 11 pounds in 6 days. I know it’s not sustainable and I do have a therapist and everything, but I just want to lose the weight. And I’m scared to eat more because I feel like I’ll gain a bunch of weight by doing this
The longer video is great and was super helpful for me. It’s actually helped me keep my weight loss going and the holidays didn’t derail me. Wait, what?! A holiday didn’t derail me?! Not even missing a week of workouts derailed me! I keep my calories consistent to your calculator and still enjoyed the holidays and the yummies! Thanks dude! #sortinghatsquad
Jordan, I have questions. My goal body weight is 130 lbs. So, I have to eat 130g of protein. And I’m a vegetarian who lives in India. (Low Availability and high cost of certain foods like Greek yogurt or tofu). I drink protein shake twice a day, 50g of protein, eat lentils etc at lunch and dinner (carbs>proteins or fats>proteins in most vegetarian food sources), regular yogurt (ratio of carbs:fats:proteins is almost equal). So all in all I end up with 70-80 g of protein per day. And about 140g carbs. And 60g fats. And by that time, I feel fairly stuffed. Fairly full. 2 questions: 1) how do I eat more protein when I’m full? 2) what do I even eat for it reach a 130g protein intake? Difference between 70g and 130g is huge. I hope you answer my questions. Not really sure if you are looking at comments anymore for a 5 month old video.
Get a vegan protein powder. Also try to find a place that sells *vital wheat gluten* so that you can make seitan (vegan meat) or you can order internationally. They're both really high in protein. Oh yeah, you can also find out how to make your own Tofu :)
I've been dieting and exercising for 8 weeks now and have lost a lot of weight and gained muscle. This guy is SPOT ON. Put a lower # in for the goal body weight for real!!!
Great video! I like to set smaller weight goals for myself; right now my goal is to lose 5 pounds but ultimately my goal is to lose 20. With that being said, I imagine it’s okay to use the calculation for my -5lb goal weight rather that my -20 lb end weight, right?
I loved your calculator. It is so simple. That is a scary lot amount of calories for me. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but why isn’t age and activity level part of the equation?
Short answer? They're honestly just details. If you calculate those out, you might drift 50-100 calories. That's within the margin of error in even tracking calories perfectly. Simple removes hurdles, making you more likely to use it and actually benefit! Sounds like a pretty good deal to me :)
Giving this method a try! I have done many weight loss programs over the years, but I have never focused on the protein counting! Starting this morning and hope i keep it up during this pandemic!!! I don't have a whole lot to lose but I feel my 15 pounds to lose is important to me.
I absolutely love your videos. I can see the passion for teaching people! That's amazing. I've been starting to think differently about food since following you and watching your videos. I've suffered with eating disorders before and I have a love/hate relationship with food so this is a big step for me. Thank you #sortinghatsquad
Thank you so much for this, I gained like 10lbs over this holidays cuz I've been eating like a dementor 💀 ... I'm so ready to do this! #sortinghatsquad
I can guarantee u it's all carbs salt and water weight with maybe a pound or two of actual fat a low carb low sodium diet will quickly allow u to lose the added weight and then lose even more once the actual fat comes off with the diet
Thank you for sharing this. There is so much info "out there" and it get confusing. This is so simple! Especially if you are just starting out with fitness and nutrition.
Eating 1800 calories scares the crap out of me. But Im eating so little trying to lose weight and I'm SO hungry. Gonna put my trust in you and give it 30 days!
hey:) i really resonate with a lot of what you are saying, it fascinates me that i am not the only one who is doing all this stuff and for that i wanted to thank you☺️ what i was wondering, is what you should do when you reach your "goal bodyweight" because losing and gaining i know very well but i never tried maintaining a weight, now that i almost reached my "goal body weight" i am a little bit scared, because i dont know how to maintin it, should i eat more than when i tried losing weight? should i make less sport? i really have no idea 😲 #sortinghatsquad
My biggest struggle is reaching my protein level, eating healthy but it never adds up enough, but I am loosing weight so gonna keep at it and keep trying to bump up protein levels
Absolutely amazing video! I was concerned if 1400 calories was too low and i was starving myself, so i started eating 1500 calories a day. And i got stuck on 125 pounds (my goal is 114 pounds). Now i understand it perfectly. Guess i'm back to 1400 calories... thank you so much for explaining this.

hey i wanna ask how much calories did you consume and how did you burn all of it because burning 2000 calories it crazy and im wondering how all the people do it
That’s what I was looking for. The body weight number to calculate the calories never worked for me. I always ate way too much 😂 I’m down 60lbs now and still going strong, goal is 240lbs BW!
Hey you calculated like your deficit from goal body weight multiplied with 12. Then after how did you calculated your new maintenance?? If you ever got stuck please help
I normally use different formulas for my clients but essentially he is right. You need to maintain a calorie deficit to be able to lose weight and if you are one of those who like to eat a little bit more during the weekend.. you can simply multiply the amount needed to lose weight by 7 , take 1000 kcal and divide them in 2 days of the week to make your diet easier. 2000 x 7 = 14000-1000 =13000÷7= 1857 monday to friday.. sat and sunday 2357kcal
FORMULAS DONT WORK! Example.. 275lbs current.. 175lbs goal weight.. thats 2100 calories.. her maintenance is 3100.. 1000 deficit is INSANE! If your goal weight is more than 50 lbs away from your current weight.. thats when the formula begins to malfunction.
Just to clarify, the product when you multipled your GBW to 10 or 12, is the total calories that you should take in a day for a certain period of time. Is that correct?
It's true, that calculation gives me an amount of calories equal to my maintenance calories so I find it hard to believe that it would help me lose fat ??? 🤔🤔🤔
That's a slow and easy maintainable way to lose weight it's the safe way the idea is to eat how many calories you need to maintain at ur goal weight and keep at it until u reach ur goal weight
quick question. 14 year old hear trying to loose some weight as i am overweight. i calculated my BMR as 2302 and TDEE as 3165 being in between likely active and moderately active. i would like to loose about 1.5-2lbs a week and it calculates to be 2165 a day to lose 2lbs a week. is this correct?
Great video. My dream weight would be 200 lbs 2400 calories seems a lot, I have been trying to get 200g of protein on a pescatarin diet but struggling.
there’s no way i can consistently eat 1500 calories everyday. that formula must be to lose 2lbs a week. I’ll stick to 1750 cals a day, losing .5 a week
I am 5’2 and maintain around 155lbs. My goal is 140. Another program I used said my calorie deficit should be 1437 per day, which I do. I’m pretty meticulous about tracking calories. I work out 3x per week and get 8-10k steps per dat and ride my bike a couple times per week. My scale won’t budge UNLESS I have an occasional restaurant meal which spikes me up 3lbs, then takes several weeks to bring back down. I eat 108g of protein per day. I’m concerned that I start eating 1680 calories per day, my weight will go up. I was 148 in size meds until last October and have been gaining ever since.
I’m not even joking. I searched this up last night “weight loss calorie calc”. Are you stalking me now? Lol 😂 thanks again for these amazing vids. I was planning to start today again. Hopefully I will get to my goals quickly. #sortinghatssquad

You may want to try intermittent fasting (IF). There is a lot of research that shows that IF is very helpful for insulin resistance which is one of the reasons people with PCOS have such a difficult time losing weight.

I prefer to eat 3k on Saturday and Sunday, so I do the formula 7×(12×body weight goal) - 6k ÷ 5(for weekdays)

I love you, I love everything you’re about.
My only problem here, is that my “calorie deficit” for my “goal body weight” is exorbitantly more than I’ve been eating. I’m concerned that’d still lead to weight gain, to just suddenly up my calories?
Same here how do I eat 1560 when I have been eating 1200. I don't want to gain weight.
I heard of something called reverse dieting. Slowly increase your calorie intake day by day to get to that suggested number. Then you can always text the waters once you are there and see if your body still responds to weightloss

Mine came out to 1257 calories 😭
@ Jordan Syatt. .. Thank you very much for teaching me this!! 😮So plain and simple !!
I am currently 163 (same height and age) and my goal is 125
However
Currently I am eating roughly 100-300 calories a day (that’s not a typo) and exercising 1-2 hours a day(burning between 700-900 calories). The calculator suggest I eat 1500 calories and it has been since August that I’ve eaten that much in a day. But I mean this week I lose 11 pounds in 6 days. I know it’s not sustainable and I do have a therapist and everything, but I just want to lose the weight. And I’m scared to eat more because I feel like I’ll gain a bunch of weight by doing this
How are you doing now?
@@Julescoming worse
The 1500 are actually way too low if you exercise that much. They would be the calories you're burning if you didn't do anything much that day.
So 130 = 1,560 and 130g in protein, does vegan protein from peas count? I assume yes 🤷♀️
Carrie Pickett protein is protein
I'm so glad you exist!!! Thanks for helping me have a better relationship with food!!! You are amazing-Happy Holidays

I’m down 60lbs now and still going strong, goal is 240lbs BW!
Thank you for catering to people like me who have a short attention span! You rock
Just to clarify, the product when you multipled your GBW to 10 or 12, is the total calories that you should take in a day for a certain period of time. Is that correct?
Yeah it is the required needed to maintain your health and your normal weight loss
So how and why are your calorie guidelines so much higher than anything else out there (MyFitnessPal, Weight watchers)????
It's true, that calculation gives me an amount of calories equal to my maintenance calories so I find it hard to believe that it would help me lose fat ??? 🤔🤔🤔
That's a slow and easy maintainable way to lose weight it's the safe way the idea is to eat how many calories you need to maintain at ur goal weight and keep at it until u reach ur goal weight
Maybe because some calculators use current weight as well, and how fast you want to lose the weight?

I work out 3x per week and get 8-10k steps per dat and ride my bike a couple times per week. My scale won’t budge UNLESS I have an occasional restaurant meal which spikes me up 3lbs, then takes several weeks to bring back down. I eat 108g of protein per day.
