ITS JUST DATA! The daily weigh in doesn’t really hold much value. If your tracking your calories, getting your workouts in. KEEP GOING. This is coming from someone who has been weighing themselves everyday and has struggled with Binge Eating Disorder. I still do, but you gotta trust the process. If you have one day where you fall off, ITS OKAY! Get back into the gym the next day. I would feel like shot and be embarrassed thinking that everyone at my gym would know. The reality is, NO ONE CARES. This is about you. Everyone is in the gym to better themselves.

The permission to simply give yourself a break once in a while is vital. I've had several different members of the family come to visit recently. And beyond not being all that excited to see people who decided to vacation during a pandemic I was stressing out because it's much harder to eat healthy when other people are around who aren't eating the same way. So instead of irritating everyone with diet restrictions I just decided I probably wouldn't lose any weight while they were there, ate reasonable meals, and once they left refocused on getting back on track.

I am currently stuck in a plateau for 3 weeks. I lost 63 pounds in 60 days and went from 403 to 340. During these 3 weeks of plateau I've been in a caloric deficit everyday and perfect with my intermittent fasting and I also did a 72 hour fast and broke it correctly. I also do plenty of strength training, 10k steps along with HIIT. I'm doing everything right but it's like jordan says, every so often your body gets comfortable with where it is and you stop losing weight. All I know is I have to be consistent and stay the course that got me where I am at now and I know I will break through. Life is a marathon not a sprint.

Hi everyone I have started following Jordan and weight training. I never thought this was possible. I am 56 and before I was 45 had both knees replaced a quad fusion in my spine- both feet and hands along with right shoulder twice. I have arthritis and can’t walk far without assistance. I started Nov 1,2021 and down 10
Lbs today. I have about 60 more to go. I have done every diet and this way I have learned has been substantial for me.

The best coach out there! I’ve been eating only 900- 1000 calories all clean Whole Foods never even took a bite of a cookie burger fries etc. I kept gaining and losing the same 8lbs for a year. Then I found Jordan, he opened up my eyes to do it right and I’m finally not obsessing over the scale and losing. God bless you Jordan!! You are amazing. Nothing like you out there.

New subscriber here. Thank you so much for the amazingly helpful content! I had a baby (at 35 years old) 6 years ago. I gained 100 lbs between pregnancy and the first 6 months postpartum. I finally got serious about losing it and have lost 20 pounds so far.
I just wanted to comment on the part about the scale. So true. I actually weighed myself a few times a day when I first started. It helped me, to see how much my weight fluctuated through the day, to not freak out if I gained a couple of pounds, because I do gain and lose 1-2 lbs daily. I also only log a loss (or gain) if it’s at least 3 pounds, sustained by at least 3 days.

Amazing stuff - Every word. I worked for WW for 11 years as a coach and also have done personal training. So on some level I've worked with a LOT of fat loss seeking clients. I was struck by what you said at the very end about you 'have to know what works for you.' I started thinking about all the people who seemed to say X 'didn't work' for them, then realizing they pretty much say NOTHING works for them (tracking every bite doesn't work for me, not tracking doesn't work for me, weighing and measuring doesn't work for me, listening to my hunger cues doesn't work for me'.....How do you get someone to trust that they need to do SOMETHING when they pretty much insist they've tried it all and NOTHING works. :(

You have been such a blessing to my journey. Thank you for being direct and putting things in perspective in such an easy to understand way.
I've been following your cal/protein guidelines for just a few weeks and this past Saturday I felt I needed a break, so I told myself I'd still track because data is awesome but I didn't need to stress about hitting specific goals. I had what I wanted, a cookie, a slice of pizza, etc. and although my protein was lower than normal, my calories were right on point. I'm losing slow, but I'm okay with it. I'm being consistent for once and it feels GREAT!

I started out at 85.4 kg 6 months ago. ive follwed as much of your advice as i can. Unfortunately i have EDS and my physio and doctor have told me not to exercise, except for walking and swimming, which i do almost daily. I managed to drop over 10 kg then xmas hit and then i got covid and my appetite was all over the place. Yesterday i weighed my self and i was 76.8kg. so ive gained 1.7 kg. I havent been tracking my intake for over a month and ive been drinking too much. My new years resolution was to drink no alcohol in january and then after that go back to my old drinking habit of one glass wine once or twice a week. Today i was feeling despondent, like id failed again so i decided to look up (you) jordan syatt again and watch (your) his videos. Im so glad i did because this video is exactly what i needed. Not some fast weight loss that i cant sustain, but to just get back on track AND NOT GIVE UP. Thank you Jordan

I love the way you put things so honestly, theres not enough of that out there. I have just started an epic challenge which is all about weights and bodyweight exercises, and my heart rate is constantly up and in a full body sweat without the cardio. I have overhauled my diet, brown rice instead of white, brown flour instead of white, limiting refined sugars, instead doing sugar free baking all of which I find maintainable for my life, I refuse to fall pray to another diet that I already know I will fail at like every other diet. I know its going to be slow but I have all year, my goal is to purely look different for christmas, not a certain number etc.

The point you made about weight loss and health hit so hard. In 2019 I lost 30 lbs but I was literally only eating probably 800-1200 calories a day and those calories were from complete shit food. I ate like a trash panda, had very little energy and didn't work out but I did love the weigh i looked. Come 2020, lock down and an unexpected surgery and I've gained 20lbs back and still have a terrible mindset with food because I lost weight but not in a healthy way. Struggling so much with not going back to completely restricting and learning to be healthy. #sortinghatsquad

When I first joined the army I was super fit and was able to go through a special operations selection. I prided myself on fitness and loved working out. During that selection process I tore my bicep/pectoral muscle and wasn’t able to workout for awhile and gained weight (about 30 lbs). I started at 160ish and now weigh 195ish. After finally getting over my depression from gaining weight and feeling sorry for myself for quitting my fitness lifestyle, I’ve refocused myself and reengaged myself to fitness. I had a bad eating disorder from previously wrestling in high school, so I would starve myself to make weight and then pig out after wrestling. This channel has given me a lot of information and I really am grateful for all the knowledge and inspiration you’ve given me.

Faster is not better, that’s what she said, but seriously. 😂 reminding me that you can’t be 100% consistent all the time is good for me. I track every day but one day a week I usually eat more than my allotted amount like lastnight, but I was extra hungry because I worked out, and the last video I watched from you, you mentioned you tend to be hungrier when you workout that day. I’m the same. Thank you. I’ve quit before because I thought I messed up. 💖

Funny how the first recommended video for me after this one is "the no cardio way to train". 🤣
I've lost a lot of weight thanks to you. I definitely need to lose a lot more but at least now I know that I can do it, just need to get back on track. It's incredible how you can go from 'oh no, I've gained a pound, I'm doing everything wrong' to 'I've gained a pound, cool" and not giving up after realizing that it's not that I'm doing everything wrong, it's just that I'm not actually consistent enough. Now I really need to get back on track and stop being overweight. Let's do this! 🙌

I've been struggling so much the last few months. I had a baby in March, and have been the same weight since April. I know I'm getting so much stronger, and I'm trying to focus on that, but its hard not to get discouraged. Before having a baby, I lost 55lbs and its really hard not to compare myself to how I was a year ago, before getting pregnant. I've had tp put my scale away in a closet so I don't get mad at this arbitrary number, and focus on my performance.

Super awesome to actually see coaches who care about their clients and recognize they are people - not just clients.

Number 6 is me! I was restricting in the week so much that I was fatigued, week and feeling malaise all the time. I've added up all the calories I eat over the week and then divided it by 7 and taken off 100 calories per day.

Well, this Karen has been following your advice and has lost almost 30 pounds since July. 😂😜
    #sortinghatsquad
Also, what you said about not rewarding weight loss makes sense. I started wondering why I'm not always excited about a loss and now I see it's because I've been following your advice haha. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Drank half a bottle of that stuff years ago when I was 17. Underage drinking ftw. I ended up throwing up all night long and for the next day. Hangover lasted 4 days and woke up on a playground next to my friends house. Let’s just say I’ve only just started to be able to drink tequila again, but will never touch that crap again.

I literally love all of your videos Jordan but THIS. This is the one right here. I’ve been in a funk so needed to go back to basics and re-educate myself on the stuff that I truly to an extent already knew but I needed to hear it out loud. You are by far the top health/fitness channel, Insta page, blogger that I have seen and I cannot thank you enough for all that you do. I can’t afford your membership right now so to get all this for free is insane. You are a true legend. And I love your tyres on the car analogy! Something I will never forget and will remind myself of when I need to. Thanks Jordan x

#SortingHatSquad definitely needed to hear number 4 today. Trying to lose some weight to fit back into my wedding dress after being postponed a year because of the pandemic and my plan today was to get up and go walking as far as I could every day, along with nutrition. But that’s it. And that’s too much cardio. Literally right in the middle of this video after you said to add strength training in, I paused, googled some beginner strength training workouts (chose the ones from Nerd Fitness) and came back to finish the video! Then, my husband comes home from work and surprised me with some carne asada fries (which I was a little bummed cuz I was ready to get back on track with nutrition) but then I ate them anyway and they were delicious and now I’m just going to watch the rest of my nutrition today and make a light, healthy dinner for us!! Thanks for your no BS approach to this Jordan. I really can’t eff it up! 🎉

But I'm just here to let you know what you are doing and the way you say it like it is has helped me and just to say you're doing a great job thank you

So many epiphany's in one post!! I can relate to every single one of those points and I have possibly been guilty of nearly all of them. I bloody love you and I keep your voice in my head when I hop on the scales and see nothing changing because just the fact that I'm off the couch and exercising and eating better is a win. Thankyou.

I had to learn that maintaining after losing about 75 pounds was almost harder than losing the weight in the first place. Then the next lockdown happened and with the kids at home, food all around me, injuries and locked gyms for 5 months now I’m up 8 pounds.. and it’s so hard to keep it together.
Your videos helped me so much throughout this whole journey and this one came just at the right moment. Sure hope it’ll work out this time.
    Thank you! ☺️

Will share this with my husband who’s whole day can be ruined by the number on the scale. Weekends are the diet killer. We eat out and the food is so good here. I think it’s crucial to be in control of your intake on weekends and hoilidays. Maybe a full on feast once a month, but if you are older, smaller, a woman, it’s just too easy to undo all your good efforts in two or three meals a week, especially if you are doing it slow with a modest calorie deficit. A 3,500 deficit can be balanced out buy two days of high calorie dense meals. I put on 7 pounds over the holidays. It’s so fricking slow getting it off again.
