I thought Tony said "It only curses you" Due to the fact that Thanos uses his knowledge to spread misery and death while Tony uses his knowledge to save and protect the people important to him
Between the monster, the demigod, the super soldier, the wizard, the aliens, and everything in between, the first thing to draw blood from thanos was weapon made by a mortal man from a back water planet. Hands of man managed to scratch a god.
I love how, the second after he stabs him through the torso, thanos' whole demeanor toward tony changes, their fight is over, tony's been dealt a death blow, and thanos just walks him backwards to a place to sit down, and gives him a few words of respect and comfort before he's gonna put him out of his pain (its just cheapened slightly by the fact that being impaled is easy to come back from cause its a Disney/marvel movie)
Thanos: "Stark!!" Tony: "You know me?" Thanos:"I do, you are not the only one cursed with the knowledge" Thanos knew that one of the tony variants was Dr. Doom ? He acknowledged his strenght and respected him.
Multiverse wasn't a thing back then and RDJ as Doom wasn't nowhere near an idea. He just said that because knowledge is both a blessing and a curse, you know things but that leads to knowing all sorts of depressing information, for instance the fact that the universe had finite resources that couldn't sustain the growth of the population.
@@LET4M4RUI like to think it’s also a reference to Avengers 2012, because Tony was haunted by the wormhole, the knowledge of what was coming to earth with the mothership and the massive army, even after all the avengers efforts, the Chitari were still coming and the avengers were only getting more and more exhausted, even knowledge, the knowing and acceptance he was going to die when he closed his eyes.
He's not doing what he's doing to be 'evil'. He's doing what he's doing because he literally thinks it's the 'just' and 'right' thing to do. So he has respect for the people who will give everything to stop him for their opinions, just like He'll give anything for his. In a way, they understand him
Comic Thanos was a mad man, but he had some of the Infinity Stones Thanos in him. Maybe not so much when he was conducting experiments on humans like lab rats.
Four years later and I still cannot get over how fucking amazing Thanos is as a villain. Considering his more one dimensional reasons in the comics it was very risky and very rewarding to see Thanos as a self proclaimed Messiah. Holding Tony’s head gently, Showing his respect, reassuring him and complimenting him, then using the full power of the gauntlet to quickly and painlessly kill him. Thanos was just a perfect villain. I really hope he will go on to be a villain like Darth vader who wont be forgotten in the onscurity that is marvel movies. He really is too good to just be another villain
@@Aedrion- I disliked that somewhat about Endgame. Thanos self-admittedly developed a personal vendetta against the main trio, which felt rather out of character.
@@_.violyse._ It's consistent with his complete inability to admit he's wrong. That's why he set out on this crusade in the first place: to prove a point. The Time Heist exposed a flaw in his philosophy and he couldn't accept that.

just imagine if they getting the gauntlet that time. Thanos will get beaten right away, there will be no endgame, and cap, stark would still with us till now.
Thanos really sounds annoyed by Tony's attack, as if he's saying "I took on you AND your whole squad and won. What chance do you think you have by yourself?"
I actually finally got the "cursed with knowledge" line from Thanos. Thanos isn't talking about Tony being a genius, he's talking about Tony's vision of *him* in Age of Ultron- Tony was "Cursed" with the knowledge that something *awful* was coming for Earth, and trying to prepare for it. Cursed to see the oncoming disaster and be unable to rally enough behind him to prevent it. Just like Thanos sees himself- he wasn't able to convince his people to do terrible things to survive their own self-induced ecological collapse, just like Tony wasn't able to get the Avengers to remain United *knowing* that something worse was on its way.
It leans even more into "curse" territory when you realise that had Tony not created Ultron as his "suit of armour around the world" the Avengers might've not fallen apart and been able to face Thanos better.
The most amazing thing is that, Tony continues fighting even after his armor is damaged and only half of the suit remains. He's determined to keep fighting, because if he fails, what he did in 2012 and later on with his comrades, is all for nothing. Tony isn't very selfish at all like many people comment on him being.
I think you’re overanalysing. When a massive Alien with infinite power is heading towards you with intent to kill, you are running on pure adrenaline and desperation lol
@@AlanJia8 u also have to take in the fact that strange purposely lost to him because he looked into the future and he knew the only way to win in the end was to purposely lose the fight, so we didn't see him fight like he would normally
When Tony said "My only curse is you.", it really hit different. Since the first Avengers movie he suffered from PTSD, and how he is standing against the thing he was fearing most.
I feel like it could go deeper, considering that Stark’s history was built on making and selling weapons, but Tony realized that those weapons in the wrong hands is horrifying. And here comes the Infinity Gauntlet, the ultimate weapon, in the wrong hands. Not to mention that Tony kinda half-lost to Steve in Cap 3.
Just realized when tony makes the sword come out he didn’t have enough nano particles left so his left arm armor was transformed into the sword onto his right arm.
This is definitely the toughest battle that Iron Man could have had, where he showed all his potential by giving his all against the strongest rival... and even though he did not win, he was undoubtedly a worthy rival for Thanos.🔥
Tony really learns his lesson. "If you could make God bleed, people would cease to believe in Him. There will be blood in the water, the sharks will com" he took ivan vanko advice literally.
Imagine this from Tony's perspective. He's been dealing with PTSD ever since the battle of New York, knowing that something BIG is coming, and it's here. Thanos is literally Tony's fear made flesh and HE KNOWS HIS NAME.
Lets just admire that Tony fucking Stark made THANOS bleed when no one else couldnt. And he’s PHYSICALLY just a regular human being. The tech he’s built is absolutely outstanding. (Yes ik Peter Quill is just a regular human too, without his MCU powers, but its Tony Stark. Come on now)
Strange said out of every possibility, this is the only way. If he had prevented Quill to do what he did, it probably would end up wrong somewhere. Its just a plot wall prepared by the writer, delivered by Strange LOL well now we'll never know why stopping Quill was not a valid option
I’m aware there was only one solution. I was just saying that it seems like it would work. They could’ve got the gauntlet off of him and teleported him into space or something. But no... plot.
Thanos knowing Tony took us all by surprise. We thought Thanos was aware of the Earth situation but not really taking any interest other than Loki's failure, but Thanos apparently studied the events very diligently. What a badass villain
Learn from failure. When your subordinates (which Loki counted as at the time) fail you you should find out what made them fail. And if nothing else, the fact that Tony went toe to toe with Loki, his subordinate, as well as Loki's brother Thor, is worthy of note. Then there's the little detail of Tony singlehandedly nuking the alien army by redirecting a nuke through the portal
@@sammakesstuff4176 I think Thanos would only consider that relevant in the sense that, if it was his nuke, then Tony just HAS that kind of firepower just sitting around at hand. If it wasn't his nuke, then he was able to quickly adapt to the incoming variable and turn it to his advantage. Either point would further reason why Stark was of note to Thanos
He always tweaks it based on things he learns from previous battles. Even here, Thanos smashes his nanoshield and depletes his suit so in Endgame Tony uses Wakandan shield technology. Always adapting and improving
The way strange is looking so worriedly and intently at thanos after he gets the stone. It's as though in of the possible futures, Thanos kills Tony anyway and that's it.
1:16, Tony shift the nano particles from his left hand/side to his right to create the dagger (thereby making his left side vulnerable). Thanos takes advantage of that and stabbed his on his left abdomen.
1 thing that really would've done it is if Tony had put his arm up to thanos's neck/head and formed another sword as fast as he could. just let it slice right through with a sliding blade.
He used soul stone cause he respects him and doesn’t want him to suffer the space so they can’t revive him power to make sure he a is 100 percent dead reality cause he respects him
All that time Thanos took to feel his face & say "All that for a drop of blood" (0:45 - 0:51), Tony could have kept throwing combos or used his knife to stab Thanos in the head! Maybe Tony was in shock about making him bleed, but either way that was a HUGE missed opportunity.
What I love about Tony especially in Infinity war was that he was so determined to protect Pepper and Earth that the moment he heard Thanos is coming he starts to stretch to get ready for him.
First shot he aims for the heads and the second one is to drove him back, kind of a thing qhen wanda hold thanos back, in that scene thanos use power stone to shield himself agaisnt tony and wanda
the noise tony makes when hes getting beaten up around the one minute marks sounds a lot like the noises humans make when they die in world of warcraft
I mean, when someone that could beat the Hulk, which could already kill a human by flicking its head off, comes at you and punches you at full strength, making death human noises is the least that is expected.
Stark had MC powers, but on a different scale than everyone else because, contrary to what Fury said, he was the center of the whole MCU. I say all of this as a member of the Iron Man bandwagon.
I think it's pretty clear that the Avengers, especially the group on Thanos' home world, could have beaten Thanos if they worked together correctly. But Strange did everything the way he did it anyways, and it resulted in the good ending that we got in Endgame. If Strange had made moves to either prevent Quill from smacking Thanos and breaking his trance, or using the Time Stone against Thanos, they would have won, but I can only assume that Strange saw some really dark futures in a universe where they managed to defeat Thanos and have access to a completed Infinity Gauntlet. That sort of power would rip the universe apart if it fell into the wrong hands, and luckily everything Thanos wanted to do was reversible, wouldn't destroy the universe, and he wanted to destroy the stones afterwards anyways. A universe without the Infinity Stones is, for whatever reason, the best outcome, even better than universes that prevent the snap from ever happening in the first place.
Strange clearly states they only won once. So even if the Time Stone wasn't used or if Quill didn't screw up the plan, they'd still have lost somehow. He explicitly states that this was the 'only way' in 14 million+ views of the battle.
2:13 See THIS right here is when Thanos shouldve stopped and thought for a second What is literally ONE LIFE compared to the infinity stone he's after? Why would Strange even make this offer at all? He shouldve realized Strange knew something because no one, in their RIGHT MIND, would EVER give up the stone just to save one life in this situation UNLESS they knew something in advance, something that would help them win in the end But no, this was Thanos' greatest mistake, he was so clouded by finishing the mission that he never stopped to think clearly. Had he did, he wouldve been able to make reach his goal AND make it permanent
True. After he went toe to toe with strange, he said strange never once thought to use his greatest weapon, being the time stone. He didn’t realise strange already did, and that was the only clue and he missed it
Thanos didn't want to kill any of them violently. He just wanted the stone. That could be why he aims the gauntlet at Tony after mortally wounding him. He can't snap him out of existence yet but he can find a way to kill him mercifully.

Strange was right about Thanos. He is a prophet.
It would depend on where and he didn't yank the blade out. It was in his side and leaving the blade in means Tony wouldn't bleed out and die.
Along with that Thanos knows the stab wound wouldn't be enough to kill Tony, its why he was about to hit him with 4 Infinity Stones.
He used the nanotechnology of his suit . He used the nanites to heal himself. Futuristic stuff if you ask me
Helps considering the blade that stabbed him was made of his nanites

Tony: "You know me?"
Thanos:"I do, you are not the only one cursed with the knowledge"
Thanos knew that one of the tony variants was Dr.

The Amount of Respect Thanos has for Tony makes me like him more. He's a villain, but he's not like Green Goblin or Venom. One of my favorite Villains
He's not doing what he's doing to be 'evil'. He's doing what he's doing because he literally thinks it's the 'just' and 'right' thing to do. So he has respect for the people who will give everything to stop him for their opinions, just like He'll give anything for his. In a way, they understand him

In the comics Thanos loves to fight. He could've just used the reality stone and destroyed the whole titan crew.
I thought when Thanos said come on, he was kind of saying come on stark fight me.

Strange knew all along Tony had to die but not here, 5 years later.
The most amazing thing is that, Tony continues fighting even after his armor is damaged and only half of the suit remains.

It’s called the concept of “groaning”
Crazy how much changes Stark made to the suit over the years. He went from the suit in a cave with scraps to this awesome suit.
Dr. Strange knew he needed Tony alive for Endgame and giving up the stone wouldn't alter that chance of winning
The fact that Tony is literally a normal human being and managed to do all of that is insane

True. After he went toe to toe with strange, he said strange never once thought to use his greatest weapon, being the time stone. He didn’t realise strange already did, and that was the only clue and he missed it
