Wanda, you’ve saved my wife (which really means me ;) probably hundreds of dollars with this. Thank you so much!
This is too funny Bob, but I know where you are coming from. Our husbands tend to bear the brunt of our crafty frustrations. I'm happy we were able to be of help you both. 😄
Thank You so Much!! I was so frustrated with the mat, but thanks to this video I can now cut without spending time taping everything down, and the cuts are better because the paper isn't moving, as in air gaps underneath. That's how unsticky my mat was! This works so well!!
Excellent Sheila, glad to hear that the video helped. 😊
It's nice to see something about the Scan & cut. I see the cricket machines all the time. Don't get me wrong I have one but I love my Scan & cut.

Thank You! That helped a lot.
Great way to re sticky your mat thanks for the tutorial
That’s great saves money and wastage thank you
Thanks
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🙂
Happy to hear it was helpful, Julie 😊
Very interesting.
Thank you SOOOOOOO much!
helpful video.. thanks
Good video, short and to the point. I got a similar glue in Michael’s and used the coupon from their app. Cheaper than Amazon.
Excellent, thanks for the info!
Zig is great stuff but you should mask up the roller areas at side of mat before starting
Thank you for this tip!!
You are most welcome :)
Thank-you so much.
I am thinking about purchasing the Scan and Cut. Thank you. If and when I can finance one, I will be following your tuts. In the mean time. I have subscribed to your channel.

Thank you.
Oh I just bought my scan & cut. Glad I cane across this video.
Thank you for your video. I was wondering if you know how long this restick process will last. I know it will not be like new but it would be interesting to know how it stands up. Does it last for just a few material cuts or a good number? Thank you
Thank you!
You're my new favorite channel! ❤
New Subby right here :0)
Yay! Thank you Rosemary. :)
I know this tutorial is “old”, but this is a 100% classic and needed tutorial. I’ve always had the CM350 machines, but in July I purchased the pink SDX85M from Amazon. Well, that mat 😱 was SOOO STICKY!!! I had to find a way to de-stick some of it because it wasn’t usable! Since I never had that problem previously, it was a shock to me! Since you’ve made this video, the fabulous “Pixie Spray” has been introduced to the world - have you used that? I know that I love it for my stencils, so I’m pretty sure it would work. I’m just always too chicken to try! LOL 😆
No Nancy, we haven't tried Pixie Spray, in fact this is the first I have heard of it. We will have to give it a go. Thank you for the heads up. 😊
Is that glue also good for the mat that I use to cut fabric or is it too tacky? Thanks for all your helpful videos, most appreciated.
It may not be sticky enough, and I would be a bit loathe to use the glue with fabric. I use the fabric sheet or freezer paper when cutting fabric.
Thanks so much for the great tip!!!
Question: 1) is it possible to cut inside a stamped image instead of the outside? E.g. A fish bowl, a jar
2) If so, can you please make a video showing how to do this?
Apologies if there is alread a video showing this. 😊
Yes it is possible Natalie. Here is a link to a video that should help. ruclips.net/video/FBUlanX87_A/видео.html. Please contact me if this isn't what you are after www.alandacraft.com/contact/
Alanda Craft THANK YOU!!! That is exactly what i wanted to do.
That's great Natalie. Happy we were able to help :)
Thank you for the tip. This will not damage the machine???
No it won't damage the machine. We use this method and it works just fine.
I just purchased the stamp making kit and it says to use a brand-new Matt. I was wondering if this resticking method would work on the stamp material or do I really need a brand new Matt dedicated to cutting stamps?
To be completely honest, we haven't tried the stamp making kit as yet. We have one but it is still hasn't been opened. So I can't say whether you would need a new mat or not. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Do you clean with spatula and baby wipe before Zigging?
Yes, that's definitely a good idea. It's best if it is as clean as you can get it before applying the Zig.
Do I have to clean my mat before applying glue ? Because I saw in a video that she removed all the old glue residues. Though my mat is just like yours its not a bit sticky
You don't have to remove the old glue residue. Just as long as the mat is clean first, so use a wet wipe to remove any bits of paper/fabric etc.
@@alandacraft OK thankyou
I didn't have the jumbo Zig 2 way glue so I used the medium chisel point. I've never done this before, so I hope I didn't use too much.
Oh dear, Sue, well I'm guessing you will know if you have trouble removing the paper. But we have'nt had problems and there was one time I did use a bit much. Just use card stock for a while if you think it's too sticky.
As this was my first time to re-sticky the mat, I guess I'll learn from trial and error. It doesn't appear to be overdone. Will just have to wait and see. Is there a way to get the old glue off the mat, clean it, before zigging again later on?
I used the glue on my mat but I think I put way to much on. Now things stick but so much that I can't get it off. Is there a way to get some of the glue off the mat
Try a wet wipe or washing the mat in lukewarm soapy water, and then start again with glue. It really doesn't take much to make it sticky again.
Mine has dog hair on it help!
Oh dear. Try cleaning it with wet wipes or wash the mat in lukewarm soapy water. Let it dry and then try one of the methods to re-sticky the mat.
Has anyone found a uk seller or another brand in the uk ? Thanks
Leigh Casey not in the uk! Sorry! But a product called aleene’s tack it over and over should be available. I wash my mat with dish washing detergent, dilute the glue until runny. then paint the mat with a thin application and it works really well. Good luck
Do you just apply glue in interval strips or cover the entire mat?
Just at intervals. It is sticky enough that you don't really need to apply it to the whole mat.
@@alandacraft thank you. Did it today...works great.
Thank you
