Scrapbena Creations yessss!!
YAY! Go get it!
I did a craft hack video a short while ago, doing something similar for my mats. You can use Eileen's Tack it Over and Over, or any other double action glues. With some machines, you can also use a table mat from Ikea, very cheap and very sturdy if you get the right one. Other items that can be used are vinyl 'for sale' signs, cut down to size, or pieces of plastic portfolio folders! If you are really crafty, you can trace the markings on your mat with permanent marker and transfer them to a plain white mat, if you need them.
Excellent tips, thank you so much!!!
Awesome share thank you Mary !
You are most welcome! Our pleasure!
Thank you Mary for sharing Courtney’s video. I am still researching which ScanNCut I want to buy and the mats I know are a big issue. This eases my fears so much!

Great idea @CoutneyKreeber! Now all I have to do is save for a SNC! 💕🙋♀️

Gail Fort-Cathey you’re so welcome Gail
Awesome!
Isn't it great....she was so awesome for doing this!
Yes!! I've had my zig 2 way glue for about 3 years now. I have used it to make my cricut mats sticky and after I got my brother scan and cut, I have done the same. A small tip in addition to what Courtney showed is a little goes a long way so don't pump too much glue onto the tip or you will get a super sticky glob ( wonder how I know that!😂)😄 Thanks Mary and Courtney for sharing these helpful, money saving tips!!❤️❤️
Midnight Crafter16 haha that is very true. I may possibly be able to relate 🤫
Thank you so much for the added tip; love it! And it was our pleasure! I'm so glad she did this for all of us!
Thank you. I want to get a scan and cut sometime in the near future.
You won't be disappointed!!! I am using mine up like crazy! lol
I’ve done this with my cricut mat too and it works really well. Thank you for sharing!
I love the idea; never would have thought of it. YAY works on other things!
Leanne Mitchem great idea. I’ve never used it for my Cricut mats. I will have to try
Mary, thanks for the tip! I saw on another RUclipsr’s channel (The Papered Chef, I think, or maybe Applelover53) that she covers the cuts on the back of the mats with duct tape.
Awesome tip Donna!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks u guys! Two of my favorite girls!😊❤️
Awww YAY thank you so much!
Elizabeth Eddy aww thank you ❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing, awesome tut! 😊
YAY! Thanks, Gina!
Gina Henderson thanks Gina
I use the nuvo glue pen & it works great too. Thanks
Amy, so great to know! I have about 5 bottles of that stuff. haha
Amy Scarborough I’ll have to try that if this ever runs out lol
Mary Polanco sorry I miss lead you I should have said Nuvo glue pen.
Courtney Kreeber nuvo glue pen, it looks like what you used but a larger end on it.
@@amyscarborough549 oh gotcha!! Good to know tho. Thank you
Yep, that’s how I do it too. I also wipe my mats down from time to time with baby wipes and it helps keep it sticky in between having to deep clean an glue.
Awesome tips, thank you so much! I so appreciate all of these info sharing
Good idea!!
Thanks for showing how you do it. Funny that the ‘frequently bought together’ on Amazon is this glue with Brother mats.
Hahaha...hmmmm interesting! lol Well I see why now. I didn't know about this until Courtney told us. YAY
Lol that is funny.
Thanks so much for to
Our pleasure, Heidi! :)
You’re very welcome
You can place a piece of tape on the back of your mat to seal up that cut. It will not affect the mat or the scan n cut at all. This way the edges of the cut won't curl up and cause issues later on.
Great share; thank you so much!
I really need to invest in a scan n cut! Would make mass producing the cards I sell so much easier.
Oh you sell your cards?? Then yes, you could probably make and sell more which would in turn pay for itself sooner than later! lol YAY
Robyn Rosenau for sure!! It’s a time saver and DEFINITELY a money saver if you purchase a lot of coordinating dies
So awesome, I’m wondering if the pixie spray will work as well
Me too! I will have to get some!
I restick my mat, but mine didn't come sticky. I contacted Brother and they sent me a new mat.
I use the same glue. The only thing I would add is that I put my hand all over it before the 1st use after resticking it. Great video!!
Thanks so much Jesse! I am glad Brother replaced it though for sure! THanks for the tip! lol
Jesse b thanks for the tip. I do find the first one or two uses after using this glue it is a bit tackier than needed
@@courtneykreeber1647 you and Mary are both welcome. I learned abour the zig 2 way from a video, and yours was better.
Without pressing out any more glue I also run the Zig glue stick horizontally across the mat to spread the glue more evenly. That prevents any ridges of glue from forming. If the mat is too sticky after resticking it just pat your hands over it a few times. Yeah, I know, too little or too much stickiness. 😁
Another awesome tip! Thank you so much! :)
I use this so I can verify that it works. 👍
Than k you for that!!! 😊🤩
You know what I found out about your live? We are close to each other, lol. Small world!
WHAT?? YAY! How close? That's so great, and yes super small world!
I am just 18 miles west outside of Philly! In Montgomery County!
Great tip for making the mats last longer. This has been an issue for years, so I’m wondering if Brother doesn’t care or they made it that way on purpose to generate revenue. I was going to try Pixie Spray on mine the next time it needed a stick fix. If it doesn’t have cat hair on it, it’s not worth having, :)
YES Lindar, try the Pixie spray and report back! YAY! Thanks so much
@@marypolancodesigns It may be a while, I am learning to use the S&C2, after it being in the closet for a year.
Pixie spray may work. Just mask the outer Edges of the mat first. And you are right about the cat hair. It’s just their way of added their finishing touches to our projects 😉
@@courtneykreeber1647 yes, I was thinking of making a setup using a cutting mat and painters tape. I just place it on the mat, cover the edges and spray. Then just leave the tape in place for next time. Just wipe it down or cove it between uses.
Zig! All the way, 2 years! Best advice for the scan and cut!! Glass cleaner with no ammonia, and baby wipes is an other way to remove debris.
Adele, thank you so much for the added tips. Keep 'em comin!
Thanks for the additional tips. I’ll have to try that
Very important not to get the glue on the edges as it will gum up the wheels. It works great!
Oh great tip, Donna! Thank you so much; I appreciate that very much!
Very true. Forgot to mention that part 😬
FYI - I’ve seen others simply tape their pages to there mat and it held down the projects fine , I have to try it myself .
I have heard that too; another great tip! THank you!
Yes but if you’re using a larger sheet to cut out a shape, like alphabet letters, it can be a challenge to keep it from moving, even if you used lots of tape all around the edges. I had to hold my cardstock down near where the blade is cutting to keep the cardstock in place, even with the tapes. 😪
I guess the more cutting you do at once it could move to much .
I have done the same with one of my mat, the same glue 👍if you cut through your mat, you can come a piece of brun tape on the bag side 😍 I learned a lot about the scan'n'cut from applelover53 on RUclips ❤ thanks for sharing Hugs
Great tip, thank you so much for sharing. It's so appreciated! YAY!
@@marypolancodesigns you are welcome 🌞
I unfortunately didn't cut deep enough the first time I used my scan n cut. So as I was peeling off my paper half of it stuck to my mat.... 😣 any ideas on how to remove that extra paper stuck to the mat without damaging it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks for the video!!! ~Nikki
***Me sitting here sipping my coffee waiting for these ideas....I need to know too*** :) Great question
Wipe it down with a baby wipe. It should take the paper and the dirt off and make it sticky again
You can definitely use a wet sponge to remove the excess paper that is stuck to the mat. Keep in mind it may take some of the stick” away but you’ll mat will be nice and clean. Certain baby wipes may leave debris on the mat so be careful with that. Try to use lint free
Mary Polanco hahaha glad I’m not the only one to do this faux pas!
Courtney Kreeber Thank you, I have been just staring at the mat like it would some how magically fix itself. I was afraid I was just going to make it worse. So I just left it alone. I will definitely try the sponge method and will tread carefully with the baby wipes. But since I know how to “re-stick” my mat it won’t be a big deal if I lose some of the stick. Thanks for all the helpful tips! I really appreciate it 😃
Has anyone tried the new pixie spray?
Ooooh yes great question....
PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT PUTTING THAT GLUE ANYWHERE NEAR THE BLACK I TAPE OFF MY MATS BEEN USING THIS GLUE FOR 5 YEARS. THE WHEELS WILL GUM UP AND YOU WILL HATE THE MACHINE AND WHAT IT WILL BEGIN TO DO IF YOU DONT TAKE CARE NOT TO GET THEM GLUEY LOL THANKS
AWESOME advice, thank you so much Janine! Thank you for saving my crafty tools! :)
