Just the fact that Jackson can still sing this song and sound like himself is a real pleasure for an old radio DJ like myself. As I listened, I flashed back to hanging out in Gene Shay’s basement, and the photograph of a very young Jackson Browne, sitting on a couch, backstage at the Main Point. Music is such a powerful aspect of how our human memory functions.

I can't hear this song without it bringing a tear to my eye. The idea that an aware individual cannot possibly spend a lifetime walking through our world without seeing so much pain and grief that they are left wanting to keep them closed and witness nothing is an idea that should absolutely break any caring individual's heart. A marvelous choice for this series of collaborations.

I don’t know if my translation is correct but there’s a saying: “The most dangerous world views are held by people who have never viewed the world.”
We need more people who join together and celebrate music instead of hating each other. Music is the most universal language, next to love.

Thank you for this performance of "Doctor My Eyes." Here is a quote from Steps to Knowledge about seeing the world with new eyes. "I wish to see a world I have never seen before.... Today... feel your desire to see a different world. Look at the world without judgment and say to yourself, 'I wish to see a different world'... Practice no matter how you feel, no matter what is occurring. You are greater than your emotional states and so you need not deny them... You are greater than the images you see around you, for they mostly represent your judgment upon the world. Practice this day looking without judgment and feeling as you look."
