Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. Our primary focus is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos we call Songs Around the World. Creating these videos motivated us to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of our mission, featuring musicians met along our journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, we aim to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet. Learn more: playingforchange.com

That legit brought tears to my eyes.
There is nothing sad about a life well lived.
@@steveskrobot5992 I agree. Of course, death is sad. Much more sad and terribly sad in many (most) cases. But, in my case, maybe not. I am 71 and death (right around the corner) might just be the end to a decent journey. My fortune. I stayed with my dad in his house, with my mom (his wife for over 50 years) for the last five weeks of his life here on this earth before he died at 83 of cancer. He certainly died slowly and painfully but he had had a life filled with many joys. He and I hope others (like us and Robbie) are blessed. SOOO many more are not. What is it all about? Amen too that
I had to watch this yet once again, Wiping tears.
Robbie must have been justifiably proud of this one.
What? because he stole all the songwriting royalties for Levon, and the rest. Levon never forgave, neither will I!
The musicians are incredible but whoever mixed and edited this deserves 1000 Grammy awards. The changes in instrumentation and vocalists feels completely natural and seamless. The sound is always balanced and full while also giving each musician a great share of the limelight. The buildup is so subtle that you barely notice how much bigger it has gotten by the end. Absolutely amazing.

Can we agree this is one of the coolest versions of any song anywhere?
well also is Stand by Me which was the song that gave Mark Johnson the motivation and desire to take a song around the world, record each artist then go home to studio and edit the recordings like he did. and Stand by me , was in my opinion the very best of the best, its what started the whole thing , its hard to stop when you start listening to all the songs they have done.

So right. What a great yardstick to gauge ones history by. I still remember at 17 in a record shop in Bondi Junction when I saw the Dylan painting cover of Big Pink. Had no idea it was going to be my No1 album of all time.

I read in a Beatles book once that his style is to play just a little behind the beat, and I hear that here - like with the fill at 38 seconds. On the one hand it's very laid-back, but it still has somehow has this cool momentum, like you're just kind of falling into the next bar. His playing seems so simple, but I wouldn't change a thing about it - it fits this song so well (plus a hundred+ Beatles tunes, of course). Any drummers have insight on this?
