7 Pro since release... best phone I've ever owned, and I definitely put it through its paces. Was running warm with lesser battery life in the first week or so, until the battery optimization figured out how I use the device. Cool as a cucumber now with full day battery life. Couldn't be happier.
@@wethepeoplegh I had an S9+, a note 10+, and now I have an s22 Ultra. All beatyfull phones, plenty of nice features, but they are definetly buggy as fuck, also with one ui 5. Didn't try any pixel yet, but if videos and articles on the web are real, there's no comparison
I've had the 7 since day one and the experience has been perfect... The camera is so good it's hard to explain, it's not just the final quality of the pictures but also the carelessness with which you can take the shots
I bought the standard 7 in snow to replace my 4a. Brilliant phone so far - no complaints at all. I think these phones have a lot more to give though, so hopefully Android 14 and up will add more value.
my previous Android phone before P7 was P4a. I still missed that phone. it was so good, that a friend at work purchased it from me 18 months later at nearly full retail value. I could not say no at the time. Then I missed, like you can't believe, that rear fingerprint sensor! It was during the year that they were still building 5G and the 4GLTE was standard everywhere. best purchase back them among a few.
I got the 7 standard a month ago. Couldn't be happier! A telephoto would've been great but 6.7 inches is a no-go for me. The cameras are great and the level of smoothness is too damn high. Excellent experience overall.
Been using the base Pixel 7, and I have been loving it quite a lot! Was an apple guy for quite a while (4S, 6, and 8 Plus) and always opted for apple as I was in the apple ecosystem, and just wanted a phone that worked. But as of late, with their pricing going higher and higher and the anti-repair behavior they have, I decided if I can't easily replace components, might as well find something cheaper, and something that allowed me to sideload applications as I chose. Also, I didn't particularly like Apple Watches (battery life sucked so I switched to a Garmin Instinct Solar), and while the earpods pro have great sound, I preferred wired earphones for the same audio quality at a much cheaper price (Moondrop Starfield). Furthermore, I didn't have many other Apple devices (laptop, home, ect.), so there wasn't much hardware-wise tying me to that ecosystem. My first dip into the Android ecosystem earlier this year was buying a used Samsung s10e (initially just for retro emulation), and after 2 weeks of frustration trying to unlearn the apple way of doing things, I had a phone that worked, was nice and small, and certainly cheaper. However, with the end of security updates coming up soon for that model, I wanted to find something that would have a long support life as I don't like switching out phones very often. The Pixel 7 has blown me away. There are some strange glitches and freezes in apps here and there, but overall the battery life is fantastic (there are some instances that if I know the following day won't have heavy usage, I won't bother charging my phone at night when at 40-50%). The camera is really good (although I haven't been able to put the astro-photography through its paces yet, so we'll see), and I'm able to play my emulation software really easily and conveniently on the device. I will also say that it didn't have the frustrating/confusing setup that the Samsung s10e had. I tried setting up autofill passwords on the Samsung and there was the Knox system and then saving passwords via your google account, and it wasn't as fluid an experience as on iOS. The bixby button I also found a little dumb on the Samsung, and the left-swipe screen (whatever it was) was annoying to accidently swipe into and didn't do anything for me. The Pixel 7, I feel, would be a phone I would be comfortable recommending to longtime users of iOS looking for a compact experience that's easy to make a switch to...however, what is still a pain is getting Apple bought media (music, tv shows, ect.) onto my phone, and is annoying since I love listening to my music and all of that is in the Apple ecosystem. But it makes sense, if I was apple, I'd do the same way to discourage people from jumping between the two. Also makes sense why the Pixel is so user-friendly compared to Samsung, google makes both the hardware and software in this case (much like on the apple side), so of course it would be user-friendly. Hopefully I don't have to jump from Google in 10 years, as I'm not sure what a phone experience with Linux would be like. :|
Went with 7 for my dinky hands. I do wish Google would do the same camera setup for both... Or make it an optional middle option for us who like smaller phones with all the features... Having said that, I don't regret going for the regular 7 as I've never had a phone with a great telephoto so I don't know what I'm missing really.
It would not be wise to release an extra pixel 7 where the only difference is a telephoto. Also, good camera systems take up a lot of space, so it can be difficult to fit it in a small phone without compromising on battery, or impacting thermals. The bigger the phone, the less thermal energy per unit volume, and therefore lower temperatures.
i purchased Pixel 7 in the first week of release, so that I could get 256 gb storage for under $900. Next time when my phone needs an upgrade again, i will consider the slightly more premium Pro.
There has to be a difference between the base and the pro otherwise it makes one obsolete. If they added the telephoto to the base model, they'd have to add something to the pro, and then we'd all be complaining the base model doesn't have what the pro has! 🤪
Seriously, if Google would just launch a pixel 7 sized phone with zoom lens, and have it cost mid way between the 7 and 7 pro, we would have the perfect Android phone on our hands. Since I have the 6, I'm going to hold off on upgrading this year, don't really see where it's worth it. My work phone is about the same size as the pixel 7 pro and I absolutely hate the size of it. I always tend to get palm taps while I'm scrolling through content.
@@ormand3000 A coworker of mine has one so I've had a chance to handle the 7 pro ... don't really care for it. This dislike also applies to any phone that has a rounded screen at the bezels, not my cup of tea. With the current trade in deal it's pretty damn cheap, I'll just wait a year and see how well their face unlock matures.
@@Erik-op2hy it's 5mm bigger per side and 15grams heavier. Do you really want us to believe that these minor size and weight differences are even noticeable? You're just broke, it's okay you can admit it
My brother and I both have had our Pixel 7's for about a week and we love them. SO many more features than our old Motorolas. Neither of us take telephoto pictures so that's not even a issue.
I went from the OnePlus 7 pro to the Pixel 7pro, and couldn't be happier. Photo quality is amazing, and just everything about he phone is so much better. This is so much of an upgrade and I'm not regretting my decision at all. This is the best phone I've ever owned.
I tried Pixel 6 and S22 Ultra. Didn't like either's fingerprint reader and missed the fast charging of the OnePlus. Being a past OnePlus owner, you know how smooth the fingerprint sensor is and how quick charging is on OnePlus phones. So I decided to try OnePlus 10 Pro which I'll be giving away to a family member. Not sure what the heck OnePlus is doing but they fucked up the cameras too much with the whole Hasselblad shit. So now I am thinking about trying the Pixel 7 Pro and hoping for a bigger outcome than what I experienced with the Pixel 6 last year. Can you please tell me if you like the fingerprint sensor on your Pixel 7 Pro and what kind of battery life you receive from it? Did the battery life change from terrible to great over time as many are pointing out? How long does it take you to charge your Pixel 7 Pro?
@@sunnysingh786 yes I do miss the fast charging on my OnePlus. But honestly, I've definitely adapted to the slowing charging. It has adaptive charging, so at night I can put it in the charger, and I'm confident it won't over change. Battery life has been good, it gets me through a whole day, with about 20% left over at the end of a long day. Camera quality has been excellent. I'm never worried if the shot is gonna come out or not. Just having that confidence in your camera, is so much better than what O eplus could accomplish, even in the vest conditions. Fingerprint sensor has been excellent. IMHO I feel like the pixel 7 pro is on par with OnePlus fingerprint sensor. And with the addition of face unlock on the 7 series, it unlocks so fast (with good lighting). So all in all, I'm not regretting my decision at all. It hands down beats any OnePlus phone, and imo better than the S22 Ultra.
@@AaronAnita456 Thank you so much, Aaron. I will give Pixel 7 Pro a chance thanks to your input. Besides that, judging from your profile photo, looks like you serve or served in which case thank you for your service.
I ended up returning mine because they couldn’t send me the trade in kit sooner but when I was using it my one major complaint about it was how tinny the speakers sound they don’t really get bass and the sound like you’re playing audio from a soda can amplifier thing. Overall though great phone.
I have the pixel 7. I was the same with the battery life until the adaptive battery kicked in which made it much better. Overall, I'm very happy with the phone
I came over from the pixel 5. I was skeptical that the new 7 pro would be able to hold up against the new iphones as far as cameras go. I went on a road trip last weekend with a few friends. We visited the St. Louis zoo and attended a concert the same night. My pics and videos from the zoo and concert blew their phones away. A LOT of my photos were pushing the digital zoom passed the 5x zoom. They were fantastic. The video I took at the zoo and the concert were crystal clear, and surprisingly, the video taken at the concert was crystal clear for audio as well. I'm really happy with the 7 pro.
Got the 7 Pro coming from a 1+ 5, and man what an upgrade. I did get it specifically because of the telephoto camera. Otherwise I'd have taken the regular 7 because it's smaller. It is shocking how much chunkier the Pro is compared to my old phone. The cameras are worth it though.
@@dawidpietrykowski yes its manageable. Especially with a good case, like the Grip from dbrand. Once I put that on the phone it got easier to hold. Its still much bigger and often requires two hands to operate. The cameras are worth it though. I already took some amazing photos and videos.
Still got my old OP5 as a backup! Killer phone that I got a ton of use from. Got a Samsung S20 FE after that and while it was alright, it didn't blow me away and honestly for the first couple months I missed the lighter weight and MUCH better fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus. Going back to Google finally (I was a huge Nexus fan back in the day) and I can't wait to try out the 7. Pro looks great but I hate the shit out of waterfall screens. Would have been awesome to have the nicer camera on the smaller, flat screen phone but it's not worth the extra 300 bucks when the screen isn't what I'm after and it's kind of huge.
I stepped down from a 7 pro to 7. I like the features of the pro but the size of the 7 is more friendly to my average hands and I rarely use 5x telephoto even though its cool to have, I can live without it.
@@RJB In the Google Store if you sent your trade in they will credit it back to you as a Store Credit. I did that but you have to ask the customer rep. Just in case
Nice update Chris will be changing my 4a 5g out soon for the 7...can I say how much I appreciate the sound quality of your videos and your sense of humor of course!
Traded in the pixel 6 for the 7. So much better. Not massive improvements anywhere, but the many small improvements just make it a much better package.
Thanks for another great review 😊😊 The flat screen is one of the reasons I went for the Pixel 7 myself; I had a Pixel 6 Pro and I found the curved display meant my chunky cover barely protruded above the screen and was a big factor in the screen shattering :( I found the Zoom lense wasn't something I used much on the 6 Pro too, great cam of course, just not much use by me. Stoked with the 7 so far, the face unlock is just amazing, and the upgraded fingerprint is a huge upgrade too.
Phones nowadays are really small compared with my phone, the largest phone on the market with 7.2.inches. Shame huawei got banned and they are not carrying the mate x series, it. S unbeilavable even after almost 4 years or use, and flat screen 😍😍
Had the 7 pro for just over a week now. Only had one issue where the screen went black and unresponsive but still playing audio. Restart fixed it tho, and apart from that, been a great experience
I upgraded from the Pixel 4XL to the Pixel 7. The 4 XL was my best phone ever. I miss the 3d face recognition and Soli radar on the Pixel 7. You only notice the higher resolution of the Pixel 4XL next to each other. The Pixel 7's screen is much brighter. The Pixel 7 also runs a bit more smoothly and the new features are good. The review was of high quality as usual. Marked all the good and bad points well.
I am also a Pixel 4XL user and thinking of upgrading to the Pixel 7. My main concern is battery life because on the 4XL it became very bad over time although I love everything else on the phone. How does battery life compare between the two?
Loving the Pixel 7 pro so far. Need to test out the camera a bit more but noticed a big difference to the Xperia 5 ii Ive come from as I don't need to use pro mode now which can take too much effort to get a good shot. Noticed some apps using too much battery. I had to restrict the EE app as its draining too much battery in background. All in all top phone so far
Just about to swap a Sony 1 ii to a Pixel Pro 7. Would love to get the Sony 1v but it's twice the price of the Pixel, which is currently on offer. I love my Sony, but I have a budget - as pointed out by Mr Techspurt, the cost of living in the UK is a 'bit' of a crisis atm...
I'm thinking of upgrading my Samsung A71 to a Google Pixel 7 so your video was very useful in helping me make up my mind. I like the telephoto zoom on the pro, but think I can live without it.
@@toomuchinformation Yes. I bought a Google Pixel 7a and have had it for eleven months now. I like the built in VPN feature and regular updates and it's easier to slip into my pocket.

We Americans can take a page out of your descriptive word choices!
I was thinking long time about buying pixel 7 pro, I did! and I'm really happy! Only thing which is worse than in Huawei P30 pro (previous phone) is battery life and charging time. 3 years old P30 pro is running much longer and is charging much faster :)
I have a Huawei p30 pro and best phone I've had and love the size of it. Is the Google pixel 7 pro just pretty much same size. How did you feel about it?
Battery life probably improved because of the adaptive battery feature. After a few days to a couple of weeks of using the phone, it learns what to turn off in the background in order to keep the battery lasting as long as possible
I was worried that Pixel 7 Pro would be a hot mess since it's still made with Samsung 5nm. Luckily it's not hot and I have not encountered any temperature or connectivity issues so far. I was also on the fence about the practicality of the telephoto camera. However I found myself using it quite often, making the camera experience the most flexible I've experienced yet.
Wow! Thank you for the very thorough review. I've been trying to decide between these two models, and you covered all of the questions I had, plus additional important information. Great job!
I've been ready to buy the 7 Pro since it first got announced 😂 pre-ordered that bad boy, gave my 6a I was trying out switching back from OnePlus to my sister, traded in my 2 XL that was my favorite phone ever, and after I got mine and he'd played with it my bf ordered himself a 7 Pro after not being satisfied with the S22+ 😂 his parents also both ordered 7s and now I've only got my mom left to convince 😈
I like how the ultrawide is 0.5x on the 7 Pro as opposed to the 0.7x in the 7. It’s wide and makes things a bit more distorted which helps makes subjects look more grandiose
@@ichokeinfants it’s pretty noticeable to me, the 7’s ultrawide is still great, the 7 Pro’s is just wider by a bit which changes distortion. I’d watch some video comparisons to see if you care! Only the 7 Pro’s ultrawide also has auto focus enabling it to do macro mode as well
Absolutely adore my new Pixel 7 Pro, especially with the black friday deal I snagged. Took a punt on both the 6 and 6 Pro last year and had to return both due to bugs and glitches making them useless for what I needed. Sad as I loved using them. Wanted to try again as the new models are apparently mostly fixed and safe to say I'm not disappointed this time around, best android phones going and a bargain compared with the current Samsung and iPhone line ups!
Great great review. Perfect pitch pace and tempo. I'm defo a super user and made a mistake getting a Pocco a couple years back. Ordered 7 yesterday. This is gonna be an EPIC upgrade 😃
Just moved to the pixel 7 pro from last year's pixels 6 and glad I did,. Not a massive upgrade but speakers, battery ,camera ,screen and face unlock are worth it.
@@paulv1mk272 well volume control wasn't good in Pixel 6 either imo. But I don't like the imbalance in the sound on the Pro. Otherwise not bad in portrait mode.
Got pixel 7 almost few weeks ago. To keep it short - if you're considering buying one of them - do it. If you're considering which one - think really hard if you really need that telephoto cam on p7 pro. If not, just go for smaller one. But I'm not your dad, do whatever you want.
I'll be honest, for me the Pixel 6 series are still one of the best phones I've owned despite their modem not being the best. In my area the call quality has been perfectly acceptable. The overall feel of the device as well has been so good for the last year.
I’m not really sure who decided the screen was the best place for a fingerprint scanner but what’s wrong with it on the side or integrated in power button.
I'm planing on the 7 Pro. As of now, I have a Huawei P30 Pro, which I have been really happy for. Especially because of the camera. But its time to move on to something new. And the newer Huawei don't have Google services. So I'm forced to shift brand 😊
I'm on a p30 for 3 years now, it still runs well, just the battery is getting weaker, although it still gets me through a day without excessive RUclips. Got a pixel 7 now plus a pair of pro buds. Sure the 7 pro is tempting, but I can't see me using the extras over the 7 enough to warrant the extra cost, and It's rather large.
@@pirx9798 I also love it. But I also like new tech 😁 If you search ebay. Then you can find a new battery and back cover for very few money's. And RUclips a videos of how to do it. I'm tempted to change it my self. But I would prefer to get a new phone 😁
Just got Pixel 7 Pro. One thing for sure this thing you can use as a hand warmer in winter, no need for gloves. Rest of the advantages I will look in the coming days
Here is my running list on what Pixel 7 Pro (or rather newest line up and newest OS does NOT have: 1. After taking a picture, quick view requires you to have Google Photos installed/enabled (even if you have Google Gallery or other 3rd party gallery installed). 2. No "double tap" to turn off the screen 3. Traking screenshot is either hardware buttons, or task manager and clicking "screenshot" option there (why not gesture Google?) 4. Adjusting the size of the font and size of the icons are applied across home screen, app drawer and settings menu (weird) 5. "NAILED" to the home screen is calendar in the odd upper left area... cannot be removed... DUMB 6. "NAILED" to the home screen is google search bar - even if you are not using it, nope, gotta stay there... DUMB 7. Task manager does not have immediate "Close All" upon opening it... you have to swipe all the way to the left to get to it 8. Multiple icons in a folder on home screen look crowded, rather vertically positioned, not horizontally 9. Wi-Fi switch requires to bring down notifications, click Internet then get to on/off switch... why change this from what it was before? 10. Finger print reader is positioned little bit too high considering the size of the phone (specifically 7 Pro version) 11. Brightness slider (within notifications menu down) is rapidly blinking if you move it to adjust brightness manually 12. Fast charging is really no fast charging: marketed as 30W charger, is actually 23W and 0-100% charging time is 1hr and 52mins... (slower than a Hummer EV ona fast charger btw... 13. Smart Unlock only works with trusted devices (paired BT devices, etc.) and smart places (home address but approximated - within 125 meters range (or ~400ft) around your house. It does not offer trusted networks (once connected to WiFi, then allowing it) - why not Google?? 14. No hardware slider switch for mute-vibrate-ring selection 15. No option to put camera for a quick access on the lock screen of the phone. 16. Keyboard does not stretch all the way to the sides, causing typos all over the place - slightly curved edges serve no purpose. 17. Camera quality does not justify such big rear camera bar that is sticking out... not designed the way it could be designed. 18. When watching RUclips, sound is not properly equalizied - bottom of the screen speaker is noticeably louder. 19. PIN code is asked for too often after I use my fingerprint to unlock the phone - no option to adjust this, or turn it off. 20. PIN code requires you to click "ENTER" arrow after typing it on the screen. 21. When you open app, clicking back (to home screen) shows a quick blink of the app icon across the half of the screen on the phone... I have sadly hoped Pixel 7 Pro was going to be it... but unfortunately it spend just a few days in my posession and was returned for a refund... they still have work to do...
I ordered a Pixel 7 Pro earlier today. Was going to hold on to my Pixel 5 for another year, but when you combine the Black Friday deals on the Pro, along with the high trade-in value they were offering on my Pixel 5, it made it a no-brainer to upgrade. Will end up paying less for the Pixel 7 Pro than I paid for the 5 when I originally bought it.
I did the same, as I had an old iPhone X and got a high value for that trade-in. My 7 pro just came in, waiting on my case and screen protectors to come in to switch fully ^^
@@crimsonmaple Mine just arrived earlier today (after a delay in shipping by a couple of days). Already have a case ready to go, so I'll be switching over later today.
Been using the P7pro since the monday after the launch. Been loving it. My only knock is the audio codec, while solid, still not as good as it was on my OP8t
I love big screen phones (and thus bigger batteries). Wonderful large screen to read and watch anything comfortably. I don't want anything else anymore under 6.7" (talking about smartphones).
Hey just a quick thank you for the video - exactly what I needed to tell if I'd be happy with the Pixel 7. I love a phone I can use with one hand. I just ordered it and I'm crossing my fingers I love it.

Yeah, would like to know this as well. Love the choice of wallpapers! Great review! Still doubting to get a Pixel 7, coming from a OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 8T to now a Samsung A52S with headphone jack and 512GB memory card 💪🏽
Got my 7 pro launch day and its been flawless for me. Google knocked it out of the park this year, I haven't even went back to my Fold 4 once since i got the pixel...thats never happened with any other phone.
Could you elaborate on your experience with both devices? I'm thinking about getting either the fold4 or the 7pro, but I just can't decide. I always wanted a pixel (never had one) but the fold really attracts me for... well, unfolding in half and giving me so much more screen real estate. Why do you prefer the pixel?
have found the initial Pixel 7 review and this follow up really useful. Good to get a UK perspective on it. I have an iPhone 11 at the moment - tempted to go for the Pixel 7 although would make my apple watch redundant effectively - not that I wear it much if I am honest anyway. Think I will take the plunge...
Would love to buy the P7. It's just that these phones are so big now. I'll stick with my 4a a bit longer and hope they launch a new small model next year.
Really enjoying my 7pro. I had a OnePlus 8 pro before so not a huge jump in specs but I'm really enjoying the stock android operating system. Plus as a bonus I applied for my free Google watch today so it's all good. Everyone in my house is a slave to apple so I'm taking the fight to them by going full android lol.
Hey @David Watson, at some point I was thinking of getting an OnePlus 8 pro before the pixel 7 series launched. Do you think the OnePlus 8 pro is worth buying ahead of the 7? What areas do you think each come out on top?
@@peluminova2515 I would definitely say the software is nicer on the pixel 7 but oxygen OS is still really good. I haven't noticed much performance difference to be honest. The 8pro is pretty powerful. The 8 pro has been around for a few years though so I'm not sure how many more updates it will receive.
@@rizingzun you had to purchase it in between the 6th and 17th of October to qualify. I pre ordered mine so received it on its release day. If you purchased a sim free version from a retailer in that time frame you could claim a free watch or earbuds from the 1st November.
Hey! There's often another issue overlooked by reviewers. It is its 5G and 4G connectivity. Google has actually artificially blocked the phone from connecting 5G networks abroad, in countries they say they don't support. We know this because a simple root and module/patch actually allows the phone to connect to all 5G networks globally. Its not a big deal if you do not do much travelling, but if you travel a lot, it becomes extremely problematic. It has been the same with all pixel 5g phones. Only Pixels have been artificially blocked like this.
It's so weird that it was bad enough for you to send back, yet for me it's pretty decent. I get to about 9-10pm with about 20% and I use my phone all day, Spotify, RUclips etc at work. About 4-5 SOT
@@NickTerry1 it has a power management software that sets screen brightness and things like that based on when you charge and use. People say it gets better in a week. I personally had no problem...
Went from the OnePlus 7T Pro (which I loved), but unfortunately needed to change as the battery just wasn't lasting any more. I was waiting around to see if OnePlus brought something decent out, but the reviews the 10 T or the 10 Pro were getting weren't filling me full of confidence. SO....I switched to the Pixel 7 Pro and I absolutely love it! When you consider the price you get it for, it's hard to beat in comparison to other brands really. It's just such a smooth overall user experience. Very happy with it!
I still debate if I can justify €920-1020 for the Pixel 7 Pro with its super slow charging. I would have hoped for 50W charging even in the 10-30% range 😐
been using an iphone 13 mini the past year or so after having a pixel 2 and 4, and let me say this: I miss the pixels. going to get a pixel 7 immediately, especially since there's a deal going on now to trade in for a steep discount or free phone.
7 Pro and overall I'm happy. The camera is great, particularly the zoom lens but on the downside photos taken in whats app are not as sharp as when taken with the regular camera app. Mine doesnt get warm at all. I would prefer if the volume control turned red at higher volumes to let me know if I'm listening to music too loud, like my Samsungs did. Ive heard bad reports about video calling with the 7 Pro but its not a feature I use so Im not bothered.
I am not a professional photographer and I barely use the cameras on a phone as for gaming, I do have an Xbox for that so I am still on team pixel 7 and thanks for another beautiful review, I have missed a lot, good to see that the family is doing well and wait how many cats do you have now? Or are there saloons for cats in the UK?
Nice review, but good luck finding a quality screen protector that won't hold back the fingerprint sensor. Pixel 6-7 don't go well with these. Wanted one made for the 7 (as marked on the box) but had to return it cause fingers were just not registering well at all. Cheers
Thank you for this useful review. I'm curious about your comment that between 2.5 and 5x zoom, the camera uses both lenses, the main and the telephoto. On my Pixel 7 pro I saw this between 4x and 5x zoom, but it seems to me that 2.5x zoom can be covered by the cropped "2x telephoto" lens.
Hi Uncle Chris, Absolutely loving my Google Pixel 7. It's been such a wonderful experience so far. I just wish Google would bring features like "hold for me" to the UK. Ps. Uncle Chris please could you say "eevolution" instead of "evolution"? It makes you sound American.
You definitely hit the nail on the head with the fixed focused front camera it's really not good at all compared to Samsung's autofocus 40 megapixel or even apples autofocus front camera. Very good review
Like you said zoom on Pixel 7 Pro nice to have but still get better results with dedicated camera. That, the curved screen on the Pro, and smaller size helped me go with the regular Pixel 7! Pretty annoying that the Pixel 7 also can't do macro photos tho if the pro just used the same wide angel lens the Pro does and it artificial limitation!
I went with the watered down cat urine and while I do like it, I would have preferred the Hazel option buuuuut I had to take what I could get and since I wanted the 7 and not the 7P, didn't have many options Edited to say: Your daughter makes a beautiful little model for the camera review part.
The battery life on my P7P is absolutely stellar compared to my P6P and my P7P runs much, much cooler as well. I think the best description for the cinematic video mode is it is absolute arse gravy.
I have had the Pixel Pro 7 for about a month. All of the issues I had with the 6 are gone. Haven't had one issue with crappy calls, bluetooth...system software, camera crashes. Only thing I think might be different, and I can't confirm is the screen glass I think might be much softer than the 6 as I use to have my keys on my pocket with my phone and I would neve rget a screen scratch. My 7 has two small scratches on the face plate from my keys. So I ordered a screen protector for it. Other than that awesome phone and is restored my faith in the pixel line.
Watching your professional videos from my Pixel 7, White, 256gb. Had it for 3 weeks now, which I had to drive 2 hours to NYC to purchase it from the Google Store, because retail stores were out of stock post-preorders. Worth every minute there and back! I have the Lemongrass color Pixel case housed on it and every public store I walk into, people stop and look here in my iPhone dominant world. Some small annoyances that I wish will come in a future update is with Bluetooth failing to disconnect once I leave the car and auto connect to WiFi part of the time. But 95 out of 100 it is excellent! The finger sensor has grown on me. Like a gorgeous fine mermaid that swims up to the surface to flash a light in my finger upon signing - brilliant!
I think the deblur tool works for photos that are slightly out of focus, not something that can deblur a moving subject, though that would be very cool
7 Pro since release... best phone I've ever owned, and I definitely put it through its paces. Was running warm with lesser battery life in the first week or so, until the battery optimization figured out how I use the device. Cool as a cucumber now with full day battery life. Couldn't be happier.

The exact choice I have just made to replace my water damaged pixel 4a. Are still enjoying the phone?
The motion blur settings are amazing for creeks and waterfalls. Really good for getting car pics too, makes taking "roller" shots a breeze.
Would be lovely if Google would appreciate us who love a small handset, and give us a smaller screen with pro camera features.
Exactly!
Exactly, I do not love to walk around with a bulky phone.
All phone manufacturers seem to think that only people with big hands have the smarts to work a pro camera 😂
@@BricktopBrickstop I'm 6'2 with fairly large hands and I still prefer the size of my Pixel 5.
I got the 7 standard a month ago. Couldn't be happier! A telephoto would've been great but 6.7 inches is a no-go for me. The cameras are great and the level of smoothness is too damn high. Excellent experience overall.
Fucking love this guy and his real world reviews
Google have their quirks. Samsung have theirs. No phone is perfect.
@@nauxsi only Apple's quirk is to hike the price up for the same build quality as other smartphones.
Isn't android is Linux based?
Went with 7 for my dinky hands. I do wish Google would do the same camera setup for both... Or make it an optional middle option for us who like smaller phones with all the features... Having said that, I don't regret going for the regular 7 as I've never had a phone with a great telephoto so I don't know what I'm missing really.
I thought it, you wrote it.
I have a pro, and the telephoto is definitely optional.

Awesome! Pixel 7 here - purchased in NYC from Google Store.

Hi, did you get used to the size? I'm thinking about getting the 7 Pro but I'm afraid it'll be to big for me coming from the 4a
@@dawidpietrykowski yes its manageable. Especially with a good case, like the Grip from dbrand. Once I put that on the phone it got easier to hold. Its still much bigger and often requires two hands to operate. The cameras are worth it though. I already took some amazing photos and videos.
@@Streamlines Glad to hear that, thanks!

Thanks for another great review 😊😊
The flat screen is one of the reasons I went for the Pixel 7 myself; I had a Pixel 6 Pro and I found the curved display meant my chunky cover barely protruded above the screen and was a big factor in the screen shattering :(
I found the Zoom lense wasn't something I used much on the 6 Pro too, great cam of course, just not much use by me.
Stoked with the 7 so far, the face unlock is just amazing, and the upgraded fingerprint is a huge upgrade too.

I upgraded from the Pixel 4XL to the Pixel 7. The 4 XL was my best phone ever. I miss the 3d face recognition and Soli radar on the Pixel 7.
I wish it had more controllable pro mode tho...
Do you mind how much bigger it is? I have the 5 III and I'm afraid of getting such a big phone lol

I like how the ultrawide is 0.5x on the 7 Pro as opposed to the 0.7x in the 7. It’s wide and makes things a bit more distorted which helps makes subjects look more grandiose
I really want an ultrawide camera do u think a bit of degrees less (on the non pro) makes too much of a difference? Or barely noticeable

Here is my running list on what Pixel 7 Pro (or rather newest line up and newest OS does NOT have:
1. After taking a picture, quick view requires you to have Google Photos installed/enabled (even if you have Google Gallery or other 3rd party gallery installed).
2. No "double tap" to turn off the screen
3. Traking screenshot is either hardware buttons, or task manager and clicking "screenshot" option there (why not gesture Google?)
4. Adjusting the size of the font and size of the icons are applied across home screen, app drawer and settings menu (weird)
5. "NAILED" to the home screen is calendar in the odd upper left area... cannot be removed... DUMB
6. "NAILED" to the home screen is google search bar - even if you are not using it, nope, gotta stay there... DUMB
7. Task manager does not have immediate "Close All" upon opening it... you have to swipe all the way to the left to get to it
8. Multiple icons in a folder on home screen look crowded, rather vertically positioned, not horizontally
9. Wi-Fi switch requires to bring down notifications, click Internet then get to on/off switch... why change this from what it was before?
10. Finger print reader is positioned little bit too high considering the size of the phone (specifically 7 Pro version)
11. Brightness slider (within notifications menu down) is rapidly blinking if you move it to adjust brightness manually
14. No hardware slider switch for mute-vibrate-ring selection

Cheers bro always love your comments pixel 7 pro is a very clean android smartphone just like my Nokia 8.3 phone no bloatware with a very clean stock Android feeling just a couple of questions for you in the next year am buying and upgrading my phone but am left in a bind am looking as my phone is 8gb/128gb phone absolutely brilliant phone with brilliant stock Android feeling on android 12 but will not be updated any more to 13 was looking at Samsung s23ultra brilliant phone but display issues are terrible in the corners and s 24 ultra could have the same but very dear phone.goggle 7 pro or wait for Google 8 series when it comes out ,the final question I have is the refresh rate on the phone is which and does it drop depending on use to save battery and what level battery charger is it running on best wishes from Galway Ireland have a great weekend cheers Declan 👍👍🙏🙏
I don't think he has the time to reply so just go with the phone tht suits ur needs and don't worry if ur friends like it or not a phone is a tool too use to enrich u not to inflate an ego
Pixel 7 all the way. Flat display, perfect 6.3 size and weight very light. The price is on point. Is almost half the price of iphones and galaxy s22
Great vid, thanks for the update. I have a Pixel 4a and plan to wait until next Summer and get a 7a.
Ordered a 7 today! Can't wait to see what the fuzz is all about!
Just one question, where do you get those awesome wallpapers ? Every phone review you did has an amazing wallpaper. Great job!
Yeah, would like to know this as well. Love the choice of wallpapers! Great review!
Still doubting to get a Pixel 7, coming from a OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 8T to now a Samsung A52S with headphone jack and 512GB memory card 💪🏽
Love your reviews, can’t wait to get the regular pixel 7. I saw it in your video, how do you like Fit for a kings new album.
Great review and honest, I hope they improve the cinematic blur and front camera, other than those two things it's a very good phone
Which phone did you switch to?
Dude every video I see of yours I want the wallpaper you're using. Please tell me where you get them
Would love to buy the P7. It's just that these phones are so big now. I'll stick with my 4a a bit longer and hope they launch a new small model next year.
6a is smaller and 299
@@jernigan007 True but I want the same high end specs. At least 90 Hz and wireless charging.
Pixel 7 is not big
@@josephpepe2607 6.3 inch is pretty big to me. My 4a is only 5.8 inch. That is 1.25 cm difference in diagonal which is a massive difference.
@@moladiver6817 Refresh rate of all possible things on a phone.
I find the Oneplus 8 Pro so much quicker and snappy than the Pixel 7 Pro. So much so I'm selling mine! and ill get a Oneplus 10 pro at some point.
Hey @David Watson, at some point I was thinking of getting an OnePlus 8 pro before the pixel 7 series launched. Do you think the OnePlus 8 pro is worth buying ahead of the 7?
What areas do you think each come out on top?
How did you get the pixel watch offer?
I purchased a pixel 7 pro from the Google store a few days ago but no watch offer

The 2 Weeks Review
From Both Phones
A Fair Time To See
How Good They Work
Is there a tutorial on how to do this patch?
My pixel 7 pro is in a box ready for DPD to take it back this Friday. Battery life was just awful. I'm tempted to try again after your video Chris 🤔
You should have gave it more time. My battery is outstanding. I dont play games, maybe that is the reason. I end the day with more than 50%.
🤘Great review as always. Awesome that you listen to fit for a king. They are one of my favorite bands.🤘
Didn't know you were a Fit For A King fan! Great review as always😊
Got the Pro today and just setting it up! :)
That’s a sub , love your humor g
Upgraded from Samsung S20+to the 7 Pro and can't see myself going back to Sammy. Love this phone!
Great video like always. One of the best RUclipsrs in tech world. I will change my p6 pro to snow p7 pro😁
Purchased a Pixel 7. I absolutely love it. It replaced my Pixel 4a 5g. I couldn't be happier.
Same here but the fingerprint scanner was flawless on the 4A. I am not having a good experience with the fingerprint scanner on the P7.
been using an iphone 13 mini the past year or so after having a pixel 2 and 4, and let me say this: I miss the pixels. going to get a pixel 7 immediately, especially since there's a deal going on now to trade in for a steep discount or free phone.
My brother and I traded in our crappy phones for the Pixel 7 and couldn't believe the price. SO much happier with the 7.
A Great review, equally language wise, without your usual curse words, thanks.
I got a 7 pro for £550 on eBay and loving it. First pure android phone bought and experienced.
How's it holding up? I'm thinking of getting it instead of a iPhone. Which one you think is better?
@@nibbax7772 I've never had an iPhone so I couldn't give you a direct comparison but for me it's been brilliant
You lucky shit, everyone bids in the last 10 seconds, and it sells for 800 average.
I'm deciding between this and the edge 40 right now. The ultra is about £15 extra a month. Is it worth it?
I am not a professional photographer and I barely use the cameras on a phone as for gaming, I do have an Xbox for that so I am still on team pixel 7 and thanks for another beautiful review, I have missed a lot, good to see that the family is doing well and wait how many cats do you have now? Or are there saloons for cats in the UK?
great job and thank you, the camera is much better than last version of pixel...
I’m with you! I like the size of the 7 but the features of the pro 😢
Hi Uncle Chris,
Absolutely loving my Google Pixel 7.
What? Pixel 7 and 7 pro was released months ago ?man time is flying and Avatar 2 is coming and my 30s is coming.
I've used the deblur feature on several photos of my cat and it works well.
